One Hour to make a difference

At the 'Olcott School' in Chennai, India, disadvantaged children are given a chance at an education. They also find a refuge from a difficult life, and chance to believe they are worthy. This belief is instilled each morning, as the Principal leads the full school in a song about equality.

This is partly made possible through the support of a unique fundraising effort called Work An Hour. Each summer, this online fundraising campaign by Asha For Education, asks participants to donate an hour's worth of their salary.

This helps the  'Olcott School' afford the qualified instructors it needs. For the children, this provides more than just the uniform and other supplies that many of the struggling families cannot afford. It also offers them a sense a pride in themselves and their education.

In your discussion about health care please understand that while initially everyone keeps their insurance, what happens after awhile and people see that it's cheaper to go with the government plan, they will drop their plans and the government will be taking on more and more. This happened in Hawaii and it is something to be concerned about yet your reporters haven't thought about "down the line".

I would like to hear more about the republican proposals and discussion of their recommendations.

The President of USA was very accurate in making the comment that the officer was 'STUPIDLY" in making an arrest after showing PROPER ID . I will go as far to say that the officer was VERY, VERY STUPID for his actions. There are still people even in an official position that have prejudice insided of them . There are some people that have a problem with USA having a BLACK President, this is why President Obama is having such a HARD time in the White House getting bills, etc passed favoingr for the people in the community, not for the convenience for white house authorites. What if he had said that the officer was right in what he had done, what would CNN and other newscasters said then. Your tubes need to cleaned also, especially Rick. President Obama is human and have our rights as others to give his opinion, as CNN is also asking for people to blog on or call with comments telling what we as the community think. Which script do you really want read? Stupid is just another word for dumb, out of order, not right, crazy, etc. Stupid describes all of these words and people' actions. President Obama is the President for the NOW TIME NOT YESTER YEARS

Somebody said ¨Education can touch a life for ever¨. I think these children are touched, not only as regards informatiion but also about human values.
    They deserve to be helped.
    Thanks for the report.

What about the luxurious floating hotels that can accommodate thousands of people at a time?? I know it is unrealistic on such short notice, but couldn't this be a possibility to have ships sitting off the coast since we now know that planes can't get in due to loss of control tower...but people can get out to boats and on th ships.
Come on world, set sail with all ships full of supplies and help...It's and island....surround it!!! THEN fill your ships with sick and needy people.
Nothing can be more important than the horrific situation at the moment.
