To Shalni Tamdji: Since you have a black daughter, you strongly despise racism against blacks -understandably so.

I know -and you know- that you've discriminated against my Jewish daughter. Granted, she may have what you call the "right" skin color.

But do you ever stop and think that your behavior against Jews may be equally hurtful and damaging?

If it looks like a duck, quacks & smells like one, there is a possibility that it is what it is. First impressions say a lot, sometimes without saying much. Sometimes people say & do things out of ignorance without thinking, & people have to assume & read between the lines. It is unfortunate that the adults are acting like kids. I think in the end the adults & kids can learn from this incident.

One the one hand the Valley Club invited to their facilities kids from the day care center and a camp. That tends to indicate a spirt of civic cooperation, opening up their pool in the summer for kids who might not have access to a pool (because of budget cuts in the Philadelphia area?). On the other hand, some of the kids from the day care center were offended by prejudicial remarks that they heard by presumably members of the club. Also, the invitations to the day care center and camp kids were rescinded and the money those groups paid to the club was refunded without much or any explanation according to your report. That tends to indicate brusque treatment. The article at CNN.com notes that the club said their pool was over capacity. Is that true? The remarks by the pool president are unfortunate but if they are taken out of context then how can we be sure what he's talking about? Is it possible that some club members made prejudicial comments hurting and offending the children who heard them and that the pool was overcapacity and that club president didn't handle the situation very well?

Well, it is a "Private" swim club.. I guess that means closed to the public. So if the swim club did not have any black members, and all of the sudden a bunch of black kids show up.. someone is going to say "where did all of these black kids come from". Maybe they shouldn't have called them "black" kids... I didn't know this was a racist term for children of African-American descent. To be more proper, maybe they should have called them "brown" kids. If I saw a white child walk in to a room full of black people, I would refer to him as the "white" kid. More than 1- I would call them "white kids". Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. I know white people aren't really white- they are peach or apricot (according to crayola)

Michelle, how bitterly put! Your statement is fully of character flaws that certainly does not put you at the top of the list of those who should be 'judging'. Let me guess, I'd bet you consider yourself "Christian" too, right. If you do than does that make you a hypocrite? Not all cases have merit, while some do. You seem to want to lump them all together. Humm, sounds like the same sort of thing prejudice people do all the time, lump 'em all together. Your typically uneducated, crude remarks about the magazines and such shows exactly what side of the table you sit at. It is VERY easy for you to believe and assert that the kids LIED. Yet you are opposed to even the POSSIBILITY the impropriety took place.

Additionally, lest you forget or just be so ignorant to not know this, WHITE firemen just WON their lawsuit for discrimination. SO MUCH FOR YOUR 1ST STATEMENT.

Skye...You say that you don't know many ten year olds that use the word harm, and therefore you believe that his words were a repeat from the mouth of his parent(s). if you believe this, then you must also believe that this child hasn't been educated. The child was discriminated against and hurt. Not all kids are dumb and incapable of expressing themselves. My 12 year olds were using words larger than that at the young age of 6 in proper context, thats because they were taught and not just repeating something they heard. Is it too far fetched for you to think that young Mr. Allen has been properly taught at his very young age and knows how to use his words in perfect context?

First, let me say that I would be the first one in the jury to hand down a guilty verdict in the lawsuit against these pool owners....and I am a white guy from Pittsburgh. I say that because I am 'amongst' that white conservative suburbia element and know firsthand what they say and they are all closet bigots who think 'All in the Family' was a documentary, totally missing the satire...a bunch of passive aggressive cowards who don't have the guts to directly say what they think to black people. That said, black people feel their suffering tops all others', including the American Indian's and homosexuals'. Get off the bandwagon CNN....it's wrecking your credibility. And this is coming from a bleeding-heart racism-hating liberal. Imagine how the red states view your over-the-top 24/7 pampering of black America. I doubt this will get posted.....taboo #1-politically incorrect...taboo #2-bit the hand that posts the comments.

It's sad that we as African Americans are still having to deal with racism in 2009. It's really sad when children are having to be sat down in this day and age and learn what racism is.And they wander why African Americans say that an apology from the goverment for slavery is not enough. With situations like this "I'm sorry" is basically MEANINGLESS.
