From CNN writer Alycia Kaufmann:
I’m incredibly excited about Thanksgiving. For the first time in years, my entire family (extended included) will be together. Only thing is – that drive. Imagine: my parents, my 6-foot-tall husband, and me – crammed inside my four-door compact for four hours; and next to us, thousands of others trying to escape New York City on Wednesday afternoon. It’s going to be an adventure.
The AAA auto club estimates more than 38-million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home this holiday weekend. That’s 1.4% more people than last year. While air travel is expected to be down, drivers are predicted to make up the bulk of the increase.
So if you’re like me, one of the 33.2 million people hitting the road, I promise to be on my best driving behavior, despite the chaos in the car.
On behalf of Betty, TJ and the entire CNN Saturday/Sunday morning team, we hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving whether you’re staying home or traveling those 50+ miles.

Thank you for acknowledging the potential dangers of driving and for your intention to drive carefully. In addition to the drivers are the passengers for whom careful driving is even more necessary. Use the four hours to re-bond and listen and re set relationships
What are you going to celebrate? Thanksgiving? or
the killing of thousand of Native americans and the fact that the white new comers stole their land.
