Civil Rights Trailblazer Celebrates 90th Birthday

In honor of Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery’s 90th birthday, the Joseph E. Lowery Institute for Justice and Human Rights will present "His Words-Our Gift," a musical and theatrical experience in celebration of the life and work of legendary civil and human rights pioneer Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery. The event takes place Sunday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. at Atlanta Symphony Hall

Saturday, Rev. Lowery dropped by the CNN Newsroom and talked with T.J. Holmes.

TJ & Reynolds Debate Temporary Marriages

From CNN Copy Editor Mary Acosta: What do you think of this? Saying, "I do," but not "till death do us part." Couples in Mexico City who want to get married may soon be able to get temporary marriage licenses. Lawmakers are considering a proposal allowing couples to decide on the length of their commitment, as long as it's at least two years. Once the contract is up, the marriage can be renewed or not. Supporters say it would spare people from difficult divorces.
