Gender-neutral Toy Marketing

CNN's Ashleigh Banfield talks with a 13 year old who is asking toy makers to put an end to gender stereotyping.

    This is something that I noticed many years ago, as my 5 children were growing up. There are very few craft kits geared towards boys. I think that that companies were/are afraid of the implications that craft kits for boys would encourage them to 'become' homosexual. The gender bias is that 'all' fashion/creative types are gay. We need creativity from all people.

    My brother always loved to use my easy bake oven with me. He never cared too much about the color but I think they should definitely market a neutral color as well as the girly colors for households with children of both genders… I think their sales would actually go up. What a smart girl!
