We should require Congress to sequester themselves as the College of Cardinals do. Can’t leave until the job is done!

I have become convinced the only solution in washington is term limits. One 6 yr term for Senate; 2 2 yr terms forcongress and 1 6 yr term for pres...this willreduce impact of lobbies and personal power grabs. It is embarassibg that less than 600 (Congress; Senate;pres) can threaten thefuture of 315 million people due to an inability tocompromise

I whole heartedly agree with you David Anderson!!! Maybe if there were term limits, they would have less time to bicker like old hens, and actually DO what they have been hired (and well paid) to do.
This sums it up for me:
CONGRESS and DIAPERS should BOTH be changed regularly.......AND FOR THE SAME REASON!

Rather disheartening well-paid lobbyists have so much control over tremendously important issues our country faces.
Even more disappointing our elected officials in Congress don't have the intestinal fortitude to come together, communicate, compromise, and approve legislation for the good of these United States. Have they even taken a vote today? Did they forget their legislative cojones at the house?
We were worried that a continuation of rotten policies that got us into this economic mess would lead us into the proverbial ditch… now we, meaning regular folks just trying to freaking make it, get to experience falling (hell, racing) off this financial nightmare of a fiscal cliff thru no fault of our own.
Actually, though, it is our fault… we voted those elected officials into office, something we can for sure we can fix in the next election.
Do your job, members of Congress, the job you were elected for (or appointed to). You know the one, the one you receive pay for. And the one that provides you and yours excellent healthcare many regular folks only dream about. Or start thinking about your next career move.
Maybe the United States is no longer governed "by the people, for the people" (meaning all citizens), but instead "by certain people, for certain people" (only a select few).

We should just keep changing everyone out regardless of the party. No one deserves 2 terms until they deserve 2 terms.:)
