Canadian teen commits suicide after alleged rape

Rehtaeh Parsons, a 17-year-old high school student from Halifax, Nova Scotia, hanged herself after an alleged gang rape. Her mother said the girl was bullied for more than a year and called a “slut.” Parsons was taken off life support Sunday.

    And parents have to do a better job at not letting these parties take place.

    I know from listening to my nephews that any teens(especially boys) laugh at these tragedies. It is a shame that parents aren't teaching that many of these crimes are just this and will result in tragic consequences all the way around. Teens these days are so desensitized, especially through movies, tv shows and especially many of the video games. Perhaps human rights, consequences, and hman resource/social skills should be taught in schools since many times(not all) they do not seem to be taught at home.

    Something needs to be done about boys....how can they lack any moral compass? To laugh at a gang rape, call the victim a slut, and then have her kill herself? Shame on them nd their psrents...and our culture....I hope they pay somehow...
