Before we know the outcome of this trial does the Martin family have the legal ground to sue George Zimmerman and the State of Florida? If so what is the likehood a civil court will go to their favor?

Nobody until Don Lemon ever said anything about any color Americans being the ones doing possible rioting.
The Sanford police chief – a black man himself – only warned against violence pending the verdict of this trial.
Don Lemon assumed he was referring to black people rioting. That would be a racist point of view.
Why is it only white people can be called racists? Aren't we all supposed to just be Americans at this point?

There wont be any riot only an educated march/ protest. There is racism against black people all over the world. Canada is the most racist country but you do not hear it on the media. The black kids and black business owners are racial profile every day by police and other race and nothing is done about it. I am glad the black american is a strong nation and stand against these

CNN keeps on repeating that George Zimmerman basically testified by the fact of the many videos played in court of him recounting what happened the day he shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

The basic difference is that was not done under oath.

George Zimmerman will be in danger for quite some time due to the prosecution use of the 'racial killer' profiling of George Zimmerman!!! They need to face charges. They continually played the 'all women' jury with soap opera style drama profiling Zimmerman. That much is very obvious!

It don't matter what trayvon martin had on his phone .That dose not give anyone permission to go and kill someone ,all that is irrelevant to the fact of murder. He was an innocent child that went out to buy snacks ,and got mauled by a maniac ,wanna be cop.how would you feel if your child went to the store and got murdered .This guy is a maniac.

Here is one of many things that is wrong with the "I'm so innocent" trial of Zimmerman.......I've yet to hear anyone question that if Zimmerman was the one screaming, then why didn't the defense take Zimmerman back to where it happened and have him scream, while taping it in the same townhome as the 911 call of the screaming came from. Wouldn't that be something that they would want to do to prove it? After all, Zimmerman is still alive, so if it is him screaming, why wasn't that done, unless as I believe, it wasn't him. And his jacket and pants in the back, in the photos.....no dirt on them or grass, but there was grass on the front of his boots, whereas Martin was wearing WHITE tennis shoes and the photos show no grass or dirt. And who is to say that Zealous Zimmerman didn't start the fight? I would never want to live in a community with someone on the grounds like him running around with a gun.....I think everyone that was a witness moved from there. I hope that there is justice for Trayvon Martin and his family. What is the world coming to when you can't walk to a store and walk home without dying at the hands of a wannabe cop. What a senseless act.

If the defense did not use the stand your ground defense at trial then that proves that the stand your ground law did not apply in this case. That being said, what reason does the city of Standford police department have for not even arresting zimmerman. That is the question that your analyst should be asking.

Zimmerman case. Manslaughter. How can he be found guilty of something he was never charged with? How can you defend yourself from charges during a trial if you don't know what the charged are?

Don Lemon and Sonny have done a great disfavor to the notion of unbiased reporting. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. This was an opportunity to report, in an impartial way, the story of the Zimmerman trial. Instead your presentation (and I hope not) will help to incite people on the fringe. Shame! Shame! Shame!

You all have a responsibility, and you have to live up to it.

what does Sonny mean when she says that "Justice has taken the day off". I am sure that Justice was hard at work during the Simpson Trial???

You are an ex prosecutor–and I don't understand how you can so easily dismiss the jury system–

RESPECT THE DECISION--NO MATTER HOW HURTFUL IT IS.

Are you listening to George's brother, you might learn something.

One question. Some keep saying that George isn't innocent. Does the law not say innocent until proven guilty. If the jury say not guilty then why do people say they still aren't innocent:? This sure sounds to me like someone is very much unlearned.

Don, now is the time we push for laws that allow schools, politics, and the justice system (jury) to reflect the community that it serves. We all come from different backgrounds, if we had half the people of the same background allowed to serve their community maybe there would be JUST in Justice or EQUAL in Equality.

An all black jury found Simpson not guilty and conversely an all white jury found Zimmerman not guilty.

    Whats wrong with this picture??

However I trust that Trayvor Martin's family can go after George Zimmerman in a civil trial where the preponderance of evidence will find George Zimmerman guilty as charged with "First degree murder".... He must be made to pay, one way or another.

George Zimmerman brought a gun to a fist fight. A not guilty verdict is wrong.

Oh give me a break people, would you stop making everything about race. Zimmerman was not a racist. Some of you need to look at what Martin was about.... a 17 yo thug who was thrown out of school and sent up to central Florida to let his father handle him. This is not about him being black, and no, he should not have been killed, but......... the evidence was there.. It was a case where an individual feared for his life. Zimmerman did not exit his car with the premise of pulling his gun on this "person". The NAACP and Obama should keep their noses out of the decision. The family agreed to accept the jury's decision. You are only going to continue smearing this young man, because his past is going to meet up and the family needs to put him to rest an leave him as they have portrayed him to his friends. Oh and media.......... we don't care what your opinion is about this, you are suppose to report the news, not give your opinions.

It is sad that he is not guilty even though Zimmerman was wrong. They should think about Martin was unarmed he had only candy and something to drink. Jurors should think about what Zimmerman took from the kid that nothing in the world can give him or his family back his life. Along with his possible generation and that there is one less person on earth .how dare media blames Martin for his outcome . This is not about race it is about a17 year old's death.

When are blacks going to stop using & teaching each other how to use the race card as a crutch to solve all their problems? Blacks are just as racist as any other people, but no-one dare to say it because blacks have the instinct to use violence much faster than non-blacks. How much more do they want...the President is black, there are numerous very prosperous blacks in all walks of life and STILL they complain. They need to stop calling racism and the media needs to stop fueling the fire 24 hours a day (but how else would they sell for their sponsors)? Whites can't have white only colleges, white parades etc. because the blacks would riot in the streets & even though they haven't yet, they will in the near future because it's all they know how to do or want to do. The press needs to stop throwing fuel on the fire & sending the wrong message that it's okay. The press & the news stations just want to make money & they don't care how they do it as long as it keeps us watching their broadcasts. I'm sick of 24 hour news stations that bash a headline to death until they get the public incited to make them another sensational headline to bash to death!!!

Young black men and blacks in general have are about 10 times more likely to be killed by a fellow black person. In the US around 93% of black homicides are committed by blacks and 50% of all murders in the US are committed by blacks.? The vast majority of murders in the black community has nothing to do with profiling.

fron Zimmerman's conduct during the trial...and after the verdict....I question Zimmerman's judgment....who ever gave him a permit to carry a gun is also at fault....the whole set-up...serve to discredit white women – middle class – and all young (people) who wear hooded clothing....it could have been a white or other race...

The one thing that bothers me still is the 4 minutes that was played out by O'Mara in court to suggest that Trayvon Martin had all that time to leave the scene that night and go home, instead he decided not to and jump George Zimmerman as alleged which resulted in his death.

George Zimmerman also had the same opportunity in the 4 minutes to go the the gatehouse and wait for the police to show up.

Why did it take the police so long to get there. Should they share the blame for Trayvon's death?
How long should it take for the police to respond to a 911 call.

Perhaps George should have told the police that he was armed and there could have been a different outcome. Perhaps the police would have responded differently not to have the situation escalate to the level it did because George packed a gun.

There is blame to go, all around.

Several years ago a white college student gave some money to someone begging on the street in Harlem. He was pursued by a gang of blacks yelling "Get the white dude." As he fled, he was hit by a car and killed. There were no arrests made. As a matter of fact, the police commissioner said that no racism was involved (despite the "white dude" statement) – it was simply a matter of economic opportunity. No marches were held. No public officials made statements. The Justice Dept, did not open any inquiries. The NAACP did not decry the loss of an innocent life. The media didn't hold any lengthy discussions. The Rev. Al Sharpton made a very subdued statement accompanied by two black women who looked like they were really upset by what had happened – they were probably responsible for his being there at all.
Several years before a young black man had been killed when pursued by a gang of young white men in a white neighborhood. The Rev. Sharpton led loud marches through that neighborhood for days demanding justice. The young white men were arrested and spent years in prison.
It is a tragedy that Trayvon Martin was killed, but the racial angle has been overplayed by the media and by those who stand to gain from it.
I have posted this again since it disappeared the first time.

it sickens me that a man with a history of violence...was allowed a gun...he assaulted a police officer and had a domestic violence record...TM was suspended from school because he was late to class and another tie for graffitti...This is wrong...I stand with TM that justice was not served...

Don...about your remarks remaking your Mother's concern about your safety...Clearly, the Black male community has earned this fearful reputation as being thugs & hoods, and the price all of your black males pay for allowing your own criminal black brothers to rule you determine your lives for you.
You as part of the professional Black Community have a direct responsibility for cleaning up and policing your gangster element until it is under control to remove the 'earned' reputation that black males have.
Don't ask for white help as the Black Community has rejected our help all along. Go clean up your own thugs at your own risk to gain back what you never had...RESPECT, PEACE and HAPPINESS from FEAR.

    Great point of view!
Zimmerman is his own worst enemy. He will be his own down fall. I hope we can all move past this and most importantly learn the right thing from this.
