Adults who work with children for a living should all be licenced to do so. Far too many of our children are being exposed to abuse form child care givers, primaritly in the foster care industry but also in day care centres, schools etc. I had a small private daycare centre run out of my home in the country. I had 5 charges and two children of my own. In all the years I had this centre I never felt the need to punish by abuse. We had a no hitting rule, not just for the children but for adults too...I also had shepherd kennels and raised shepherds. There was a no hitting rule for the dogs either who were used in various competitions as well as pets. My father came from 400 years of farming ancestors (proven through family history research) if that rule was good enough for him, it's good enough for everyone else. They raised and trained horses.

I agree Maryann I believe you need to have a license if you want to work with children. These daycare workers should be taken out back. This is so sad, This is a major problem. The lack of respect that we have each other is truly sad.
