Once again, Chicago is in the spotlight over gun violence. Brooke speaks to a mother and activist who lost her son in a separate Chicago shooting. Listen to hear what she says needs to be done.
With all the recent shootings around the country ( the naval yard 13 shot) Cnn and other news stations rush immediately to cover the scene. How come when this happens on the south side of Chicago it only gets coverage as secondary news, or Police in Chicago are doing better with crime than last year. 13 PEOPLE have been shot nobody rushes to the scene except maybe local coverage – I live on the north side so its just an observation, but if we don't show these kids that we care for them we will never win them back
Watching this report ..I see a lot of people pointing finger at video games, gangs, weapon by back programs, not enough police enforcement. Lets stop blaming others Wendy and if it was you who had a weapon held to your face; you would demand justice and you are just as big of a problem as these gang members. These shooters want attention they want their message to be heard and instead of facing this problem everyone is running away. Lets take a stand and if the City of Chicago can't get this matter under control then maybe we need to send in troops, enforce night time curfews and secure abandoned buildings, lets get into the neighborhoods and start shutting down drug houses, or maybe we need to start knocking on doors and searching houses for weapons. we need to implementation of new ideas to get these weapons away from these individuals. We can start to take a stand or cowardly stand and watch family, friends, citizen's die.
And what Mother in her right mind would have her baby/child out at 200am at a known gangbanger basketball court? The balck-on-black inner city murders will never end as the black culture has failed itself terribly from the days of the Great Society which cast the blacks down into their own demise.
