Aviation expert Ronald Carr came on the show today to talk about missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. He says there are three scenarios the plane could have fallen into if it hit the water.
Regarding the missing airliner. Is it possible that there was a hijacking attempt & that the pilot set the plane on a course into the remote Southern ocean far away fromn any city so that the hijackers could not use it as a weapon to kill thousands of people on the ground. So it would not be a selfish suicide. He would have tried to save his passengers but realised that far more people on the ground might be killed if the hijackers hit a city. Furthermore in view of the tense situation in the Crimea, which he had enough fuel to reach, an unexplained mass explosion in that region could set off WWIII. So sacrific ing himself and his passengers would have been an act of heroism rather than suicide or murder.
One question: Why is it that the search planes do not seem to have in-flight refueling capability so that they can stay on station for a much longer period than just 10% of their flying time to the search zone?

If the planes can only search for ony 2 hrs because of having to travel so far to refuel, why hasn't the USN sent an aircraft carrier to the area? Fueling would then not be a problem and would allow the search could go on all day.

I have a few questions that noone else seems to be asking. First of all, during the 9/11 attacks, as soon as the passengers realized that something was wrong they began making cell phone calls. Were any cell phone calls made during that period of time between where the plane changed direction and where it might have run out of fuel/crashed? Second, if no calls were made, it seems to me that everyone on the plane must have been either neutralized, asleep or dead which would make me wonder...HOW? Perhaps a nerve agent or sleeping agent was released on board the plane. To what end, I cannot imagine, but it seems clear to me that SOMETHING must have neutralized everyone on the plane for it to stay in the air but prevent anyone (passengers or crew) from notifying anyone about anything! Could someone start ask about passenger cell phone calls, please?
Rob depending on how far the plane was in the air 35, 000 ft or so its highly unlikely any antenna would pick up anything going in or out from those cell phons. Its just the fact they werent in close enough range to the antennas even though they could have flown over them

Excuse me for saying, but something is fishy smelling with this "southern route" alleged by the US NTSB. I'm a former air traffic controller with 24 years of experience in the USAF and FAA. Re: MH370 – – – once the aircraft passed Cook and Christmas Islands there are NO AIRPORTS along this southern arc determined by the NTSB until you reach Antarctica, which by the way is well beyond the fuel on board capability of MH370. Secondly, when you consider the Thai radar position fix just southeast of Smith Island, it was 155 nautical miles from an Indian Air Force Radar site at the Port Blair Air Force Station on Smith Island, and from what I've seen of the Thai radar position fix, places the aircraft nearly on the centerline of the upper level airway in that region. On Facebook, I have numerous posts including maps with the airways and radar sites and airspace boundaries under my FB Bill Silver Eagle all with the hashtag #MH370. I personally believe everyone is being fed incorrect information.

Ashleigh, lets look at those batteries everyone is saying was on board. Those are batteries in storage, not hooked to a device. And if that comes as a shock they were on board, what do you think powers those cell phones that the passengers and crew have? LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES!!!! Those batteries are on every flight in the world, as people take cell phones everywhere. I am not concerned about them as if they had started a fire, the ACARS system would have sent messages. If they had been putting smoke into the plane the ACARS system would have sent a msg to the ground. Secondly, the pilots home flight simulator. I erase data from my flight simulator all the time. If my flight plans, I have saved get too big, I puit them on a cd/dvd and erase the ones I don't use. I don't think there is anything there either. The questions I have are: Where are the ELT's? Why are they not working if the plane went into the water? How is it that the plane flew the route suspected it did, and NOBODY send up military fighters to check out the unidentified blip on the radar? Military radar will pick up objects civilian radar will miss. Thirdly, can you guys put a list up of the airlines that use the SWIFT technology available for commercial aircraft? this technology apparently was not on the Malaysian a/c.
I would like to know why have there been no new satellite images? The two that have been posted hundreds of times in the last 48 hours are nearly a week old. No one has any new "sightings". I find that odd, and unlikely if there is actually debris in the area. Also... what else has been discovered or not in regard to the other direction? I'd like to think there are still other lines of investigation going on.
I've got a question...when they realized that they've lost signal with Flight 370, why didn't they send out a jet to see what was wrong with the plane??
They dont k now where to send the jets they dont know where it went after it turned. It would be different if it could it be tracked

Has anyone even mentioned if anyone is/was able to reach anyone on the phones from the planes? If the plane went in the water I supposed they would not work, this would rule out the water theory then. Do phones still ring?
I really think this plane was shot down. Yes It could have happen based on all the confusing and mis-information we are getting. This plane may have been hijacked and was possibly going to be used as a weapon (911) of course would any country want to admit to shooting down this plane? What would happen if we knew this was plane was shot down, the airline industry and world travel may take a huge hit. We would rather let terrorist think the plane went down with a struggle rather than it shot down by armed forces. Just ask the question how possible is this?
If everybody takes a look at that Scorpene Trial in Malaysia they would see their own government kidnapped someone in a cab and the only reason they were caught is because the cab driver copied the plate number of the kidnappers due to non payment and it was the Malaysian government. Now these people are delaying info until the black box is no good which would show they had something to do with the accident. Why don't they check to see if there were a school of sharks and other sea creatures that would eat the people in a specific area within the past 2 weeks. Why don't they capture a couple of sharks and see if any human remains are inside??? No NO right they just wanna tell everybody that people are dead. One person might end up missing but 200 or so BS BS BS BS BS.
Regarding the pinners in the plane in this case flight 370, could FAA may consider installing pinners in areas of the external fuselage that don't affect the aerodynamics of the plane that in contact with water additional to the ones already in the plane this ones could detach from the plane , and float ?
