Of course he should have criticized the president. When did our leaders lose their integrity? Obama has been lying and Panetta is setting the record straight.

Why would anyone think that is inappropriate?

Elected officials need to be held to telling the truth instead of their endless spin which says nothing. If Panetta is telling the truth well that is what he should do. As should we all.

    Dear Don,
Thanks for doing an awesome job in bringing us the news as they happen. Regarding the Ebola virus spread, I think you need to involve local experts from West Africa in your discussions. We have to go to the root of the problem if we are to make any gains on this deadly Ebola virus. Regarding the travel ban being suggested by some quarters, my question is, how come no one suggested travel ban when SARS epidemic occurred from China? Also, no one suggested travel ban when H1N1 (swine flu) epidemic occurred from Mexico. These two incidents go to tell me that travel ban is not the answer. The solution lies in battling this virus from the roots (West Africa) and following procedures outlined by communicable disease control experts.

Listen folks lets not get off track here. The president did try to arm the Syrian rebels. He could not get authorization from the U.N to do so.(I.E .Russia) ..Why?.Hmm..Could it be because Putin is supplying the Asad regime with arms to counter the same people you are asking our president to arm?..Quit trying to claim the president waited too long to arm the rebels. He did try.

Well, it depends on your perspective. If you believe that the American people have a right to know, then you probably support Panetta's right to criticize Obama. But if you are an Obama supporter, you probably feel that loyalty to Obama comes before Panetta's right to speak and the American public's right to know (at least while Obama is in office). Yet, there are still other possibilities: you didn't need to have Panetta tell you the inside scoop, because you either don't care, don't believe Obama anyway, or don't believe anyone who criticizes Obama.

I am a avid fan in Canada. Just wondering if you might be discussing the results of the latest Ipsos Mori study on political ignorance. Quite an interesting read and good topic for discussion. Will keep tuned in.

re: the Mike Brown shooting. Most police jurisdictions across the usa requires a police officer to at least attempt to use a lessor form of force, such as a taser, pepper spray, baton or backup before using deadly force on a totally unarmed person. No one has asked officer Wilson if he had any of the lessor weapons in his possession the day of the shooting . if he did not, he was unprepared to be working the streets of any city. i am a firearms instructor in los angeles county. i was originally trained at the los county sheriff academy. the above guidelines exist in academy training and police dept
shooting policy. If an officer failed to attempt to use a lessor form of force when dealing with unarmed persons, he would be charged with voluntayr manslaugher.

I used to go to CNN to get the true unbiased news. I can make my own opinion. Not anymore. If Don Lemmon wants to keep pushing his own agendas without any truth, please move to Fox or MSNBC. It is sad that I have to go to Al Jazeera to find anything close to neutral news in the U.S. Sickening!!!

    Hey Don,

Is CNN ever going to show the video of Mike Brown beating up an old man? Have you seen it? If so, your comments. If not, you need to see it. As hard as it is to watch, everyone needs to see it. Over and over again your show kept asking the question, "What kind of person was Mike Brown?" This is the definitive answer to what kind of person Mike Brown was, and shows what the arresting officer was up against when he stopped Brown. As disturbing as the brutality is, notice, near the end, where he checks the old mans pockets to see if he has any money. My question is were you afraid to show the video since Brown (with your help) had become the poster child for the current movement?

OK. Just saw Don Lemon talking about race stuff/a kid at UVA getting roughed up. I believe the kid was not a model citizen and was breaking the law? Michael Brown, as far as I have heard, shoved a cops door, and reached into the cop car and tried to get his gun. This is ridiculously unacceptable behavior. He is No hero He was trouble, and a threat.

The kid in Cinncinati was waving a scary gun in a park, that looked completely real and lethal.. These two did AWFUL unacceptable things. If my kids were in that park in OH I would have freaked out. I don't care if he looked 12 or 20, he was waving a gun. No need to discuss this. Can we peel off race, and look at behavior? And speak out about what is wrong. My relatives came to this country close to 200 years ago, as indentured servants, slaves in effect, but no one owes us anything this many decades past. We do not blame others or the government for where we are.
Some behavior is strictly NOT okay. Isis, and Michael Brown's behavior, were both not okay. No good hero here. Can we stop picking out absurdly bad behavior and treating it as hero behavior.

I am an instructor of African American humanities and I would love to discuss the police brutality cases with you...the reason for this...it is historical but people are playing like they do not know when in fact they do not wish to face the facts as they are presented in the art and literature that black people have produced. the real issue is: "Are black people a reliable and credible knowledge base?"

My opinion about Dalezal is that you Americans understand that a person is what the they feel what they are. Because you are a segregated society. Even in your society one can be born white as chalk but if one of your parents is black you tend to identify youself as black. Formerly being black was seen as a disadvantage. Nowdays is an honour to be black

Everyone talks about how lady gaga nailed it yes, but
The words of the National anthem was written in scrolls
For her to sing, if you are not observant, you will not see it.
Why did she not sing it out of memory on her own? Yes her
Performance was great, give me a break. Beyoncé was great also.
So she bounced a little while dancing; that is part of a natural show of artistic
Performance. Give Beyoncé credit also. She was not paid for her performance; she
did it for the love of music and her Country...
Also importantly, when is America as a whole going to embrace?
“The Black Race?” We fight to wake up as a depressed people stemming from
racism, we fight for our lives for being shot either by accident or intentionally.
Lord! People give the Black Race a chance... it is difficult being Black... and we
don’t want to be reminded each day.
Shout out to Cam Newton. Great Job. Shout out to Beyoncé strong black
Woman. You are appreciated. You go girl...And for the haters – Whatever try being
black for a day – take the scientific experimental challenge. Then you will see how it
    feels
    PEACE.

It is 10:35 PM, May 5th, and the blonde Republican yelling about Hillary being under investigation is so hateful. Everything that has been said about Hillary has been a lie. She is the best person to be president, man or woman! Apparently the Republicans want an arrogant nasty person – Donald Trump – to president. What are they thinking? He will not make America better, it is great now. He will ruin everything we stand for.

First, Don is great. With time he could be our next Walter Kronkite, really. Trustworthy X 1MMM.

Second, Don, why did you let the crew set up your Cleveland coverage so that the camera shot right down all three ladies crossed legs? Not your immediate fault, but YOU DO know better.

Third...I didn't watch every second, but it seems odd the RNC Convention didn't focus much on the Dallas cops, Orlando, Nice, etc...just Hillary hate. Seems weird the plagiarism story was bigger than how Trump would handle Turkey, Nice, Sandy Hook, etc.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Full props to Don Lemon!

I'm writing here for lack of a better known forum....so, it's great seeing Van Jones on Don's show recently. During the 1st Obama term in particular I heard Van disparaged by opponents as a crazy radical. He has really comported himself well and deserves a fair hearing. I'm a 56 y/o Midwestern white boy. Not really political. Don's a great journalist and Van's a great opinionist....thanks to both. I like many conservatives as well, just sending a specific thanks to these two.

I am a Canadian and have been watching this election campaigns. As for Trump calling out Obama about birth certificate and if he is American. Well you Americans want a President that is a citizen which I totally agree. So if Trump gets in his wife should not be called the First Lady as she was not born in the US, she looses the protocol and should be referred to as Mrs. Trump. I really cannot believe what is coming out of his mouth and running for a top country ruler. All this man Trump has done I'd badger people make idol threats. Well a lot of Canadians would like to see him build that wall between US and Canada. He obviously does not realize what he is going to do when he gets to the Rocky Mountains. He should know his history and geography. Good luck to our neighbour to the south think hard on your choice

When your guest panel start to talk over each other cut their mic off, I love your show I like the way you stick to what the subject is and not let your guest pivot to the other candidate. Kayliegh needs to take those blinders off she's displaying what use to be called "Blonde"

I would like to know why CNN news, did not stick to the real news, in regard to the truth about Donald Trump. Let's start with Obama Care which he is going to discontinue. You all think it was to expensive ? Think again what is the rest of the story. Well once the insurance company's are deregulated , Middle Class family's really won't be able to afford insurance at all. Hospital's will once again be over whelmed with lack of funds. Any of you can loose your job, loose your medical insurance, have a sick child , then what are we going to do. Paying for private insurance on unemployment will not be in the cards, I am a white woman and I will tell you all , my brothers and sisters of color, all of you that believe in him, he doesn't give a rats ass about you either. I have worked my whole life, make a good living , but that is really not going to make a difference. Why is the media not going into detail about this?

You speak about all those amazing rural family's that believe in Trump, well in the end they are going to be hurt by him in many ways too. I really don't want to see that happen.

The media keeps telling people about what Trump is going to do as president, but no one is telling people what the end result is going to be for them.
