Potentially Deadly New Flu
Twenty-two students and three teachers in New Zealand, who returned from a three-week-long language trip to Mexico, may have been infected with the swine flu virus, officials said Sunday.
The suspected infections in New Zealand follow reports that a deadly new strain of the virus cropped up more places in the United States and Mexico Saturday.
The World Health Organization calls this "a public health emergency of international concern."

the government is draging there feet not reacting fast enough this could be put under controld by terminating all flights in and out of our country the borders needs to be closed all infected people needs to be quarantined to there homes or hospitals it should be treated just as the 911 insedent the democrats arnt taking this flu seriosly enough this flu could have a later effect its unkown and should be more respected.

Please make some corrections to the information that was just given to John King by the National security expert after the White House briefing Sunday. 1) Travel notices relating to health issues should start from CDC and the CDC travel pages and not from the State Department. The CDC is closer to the information and so if there is no travel warning on the CDC pages, there shouldn't be on the State Dept pages. And the CDC Travel pages are checked by many millions of people. And Robert Gibbs said to check the CDC pages. SO they are being responsible. 2) With 20 cases of mild illness at the moment, there is not at the present any role for the military and Homeland Security. At the moment, it is a pure public health issue and so the lead should be the CDC. Janet Napolitano is behaving appropria6tely by NOT taking control when it is currently a medical issue. I don't want Homeland Security involved until it is needed because the doctors at CDC should be the first defense.
The reason for anticipating a flu escalation, is to get the US Government to stockpile Billions of Dollars of the so called "wonder drugs" that will enrich the drug coompanies and their friends in Washington.

Hello, In regards to the questions about why Mexicans are dying from the swine flu and so far US citizens have had milder symptoms it would make sense to me that maybe the Mexicans havent had flu shots in past years that may have given US citizens a partial immunity.
Would someone please give additional instructions on how to avoid the spread of this flu. Cover mouth and nose when sneezing and then wash hands with antibac solution and put the tissue in the garbage. Look around and see how many people do not cover their mouths .
Would the drug Amantadine have any effect on this flu?
Hello, I just want to let you know, that my mom says that this started with a Canadian that came to Mexico, he got sick an was taken in a hospital, and sent back to Canada, that happened last week.

replying to Kevin Boorom: Always book with a travel agent as they will fight for you. The travel agents can give you the same price you find online. When you book yourself – you are on your own... The internet is a wonderful thing – unfortunately a lot of people play travel agent and end up learning the hard way. You should leave your vacations in the hands of the professionals.

Since the Obama Administration and Homeland Security state that they have the "swine flu" under control, then there is no reason that Americans should panic. After all, they know everything and make all decisions! It would benefit the public, if these "know-it-alls" would be clear and specific when getting on a news conference and talk facts!
If Mexico is high in potential flu cases, then why are the borders not controlled? If Mexico does not have the facilities to help their sick
people, why doesn't the U.S. send provisions to assist them? Why is there all of this time wasted with propaganda regarding a "so-called"
nationwide concern? This has nothing to do with having a Health Care Program, so why is the "swine flu" being politicized? It is also the job of the President to protect THIS country from "harms way", so why are we not prepared?
Have any of the New York school children who were reported to have the Swine Flu recovered? We haven't heard anything about their status. Do you have anything on this?
