The Neighborhood Found Him First

It's a heinous crime that's left a child traumatized, and a city up in arms. The suspect is in custody after a vigilante beatdown. You might've seen the surveillance video by now.

But unless you're a local, you probably haven't heard from the parents of the 5th grade girl. Stalked, threatened, and violated to the point that she needed surgery. Found crumpled on the sidewalk, bleeding and crying.

This was our lead story at 2(ET); Kyra spoke to Clifford Reynolds, the little girl's dad, and the Philadelphia police officer who'd announced a reward for the suspect's apprehension.

By the way - the two guys who split that reward? They donated some of the money back to the little girl, and some to the police survivors' fund.

    Economic Plan

    Dear Mr. President,
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.
    – Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

    1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.

    2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.

    3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...

If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know. If not, please disregard.

Glad to hear the little girl is going to be okay. Although vigilante justice should be discouraged, I am not too disappointed in this case.

I was one of the 54 persenger on a Bus Trip from Oakland California To Washington DC for the inaugration of the 44th President Of The United States Of America. Is a lifetime memory that I will never forget. President Obama touch all of my family heart and blessing in every speech, every family gathering , every international visit. for every living being that is intelligent enough, and wants peace and prosperity should not have an opposing words. Any negativety towards the President will only draw us backward.

Wishing President Obama a safe trip back home to the Great United States Of America.

It's great that he was found, and given a "preliminary dealing with". When I was growing up in Brooklyn in the 50's & 60's, There was a lot of "street justice" dished out.

    Charlie.

To CNN: It is so good to remember those who fought in WWll and sacrificed to particcipate in the invasion of Normandy. My dad, Capt. Dr. Adam Mader Hauer was one of the surgeons of the John Hopkins Special Surgical Team assembled on an island in the English Channel for the invasion of Normandy. I have a collection of his letters drom the war days and on June 9, 1944, he wrote "We are very busy here and for the last few days have seen many fresh casualties, which surpass in some cases, your wildest dreams. Have put in 18-20 hours per day. Hope the load slacks off soon." He could not, for security reasons, put detailed material in his letters. He eventually went into France and then Germany where he supplied and staffed Allied hospitals in a 300 mile radius. His hobby was photography and I have some pictures of him in France which he developed. (no attachment capability to send them, though.
Just wanted to remember hom today and his many letters of his service for America in a very all consuming effort to free europe from tyranny. Sincerely, Carolyn Hauer-daughter (I was 1 1/2 yrs. old at that time).

When this monster attacked the little girl he never thought of the consequences, so when he was found by the neighbors and given a full tune up, and then turned over to the police he knew.

And if he thinks the neighbors were rough on him, just wait until the inmates find out what he did...The beginning of some terrible days ahead for him.

What the neighbors did to this POS is community service....Street cleaning!!

As the father had said that his daughter had cried out for her, I melted. As the father of a teen I never go a day without reminding her to pay attention to her surroindings, don't go anywhere alone etc. But that doesn't mean you've made yourself exempt from crime.
This animal, preyed on an 11 year old girl, that tells me he'd go after 9 and 7 and even 3 year olds. Seventeen prior arrests, been out a month, probably a 3 time loser and now needs to be locked away for good.
As for the victims dad, I'm praying for you. If it was my daughter I simply would have called the police and informed them – Find him before I do!

I must say this first off vigilantes and street justice is not the American way . This man is sick this man deserved this yes but this doesn't meant that we have a right to do this as we know you are innocent till proven guilty in the country and taking justice into our own hands is NOT THE WAY ! This man should be given the death sentence to be sure .
But I also feel that every one that beat this man should have charges brought against them as well . This is a HATE crime fueled by hate and a STREET Justice mob mentality . We have LAWS this man did the sickest thing known to man kind but still he has a right's to . A mob mentality only offer up HATE and vengeance if we treat him like this what about some one whom is innocent and was wrongfully accused what then do the same to him/her with out LAWS and rights then why do we need cop's why not just form up the mob's and posy's to kill every one accused of a sick sex crime ? Innocent until proven guilty that is the LAW !
