What’s Your Favorite MJ Moment?

As thousands of Michael Jackson fans swamp Los Angeles today to attend the memorial service, millions - possibly billions - more will be watching his memorial live. People across the globe are mourning his death - but celebrating his life.

Although I was only two years old when “Thriller” came out, one of my favorite memories is of belting out “Black or White,” while blasting it on repeat and dancing with my sisters around the basement of my parents’ house.

We’d like to help you celebrate Michael Jackson’s life by asking you to remember your favorite “MJ Moment.” Leave us your comment below.

After buying one of the many dedicated magazines to the most amazing performer ever, and reading it cover to cover non-stop, I cried.
And at that point it really hit me what a true blessing we really lost, at the worst time possible

I came up during Michael's solo career, however my mom came up during the time of the Jackson 5. So Michael has been apart of my life since childhood. I remember having the Red Thriller Jacket and thinking I was the best thing walking when I had penny loafers. I am a singer/dancer and like pretty much every artist, Michael greatly inspired me. He was so talented and captivating. His video would come on tv (no matter how many years later) and I would just be frozen solid in amazement. He made every dance move look so easy. Michael has always been apart of my life and I never thought of him dying, even though I know we all have our time. However, he will never die in my memories nor in my heart. Michael Jackson will always be the King of Pop to me! I love you Michael and I will miss you! May your legacy live on!!!!

In 1983, Micheal Jackson performed live on a television special called 'Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever.' The special featured a Jackson 5 reunion with his brothers and a solo performance of 'Billie Jean' (with a crowd-pleasing toss of his hat out to the fans), but the 47 million people who tuned in were all talking about one thing: Jackson's very first moonwalk. I was only 9 at the time but was so impacted by the moon walk.

Micheal will always be remember as an iconic figure, and he will be missed...

When I saw the Jackson 5 in concert in Baltimore in 1971! I was singing, crying, screaming, dancing and having a ball! It was my first concert ever! I will never forget that night! Their music is the soundtrack of my childhood!

MJ was a terrific performer, but the media fixation is tiring and dangerous. Other more important stories are being ignored or grossly under covered.

My favorite MJ moment would be the MOON WALK from Motown 25.
I have so MANY memories of him from the past 40 years.
I am 60 years old, loved ELVIS and SINATRA but THIS is just so much MORE devastating to me..
I always wanted to JUMP UP and DANCE when I heard his music.
He will be part of my LIFE...forever!
God bless him and his family!

My favorite Michael Jackson moment was in 1992 I was 7 years old, it was the first time I listened to my mothers "Bad" CD and I heard Man In The Mirror for the first time, I broke down in tears and its what started my caring and compassionate heart towards people of all walks of life. I am 24 now and that is just one exapmle of the affect Michael had on your life. Your always in my heart MJ

My most favorite Michael Jackson moment has to be his Dangerous Tour. I love when he pops up on the stage and just stands there for a minute. Awesome concert for 1991. The magic and the close of the concert, "MJ" or his stand in jets off the stage in a jet pack strapped to his back.

My favorite MJ moment is when he moonwalked across the stage at the Motown 25th Anniversary concert and again at the 1995 VMA awards. My favorite video of all time is "Remeber the Time"

I have no favorite MJ moment because in my eyes, all of hismusic and his videos were amazing. Although I was not born during the 80's, I know each and every one of his songs. He made the type of music that is timeless, and i wish that his legacy will overcome all the bad things that have been portrayed.

My greatest memory of Michael Jackson is attending the "Bad" concert in 1988 in D.C. A friend of mine bought tickets for me since I didn't have a credit card. Another friend went with me. I had attended other concerts, but the "Bad" concert was an intence experience. I remember tearing up when he sang, "She's Out of My Life". He was an amazing gift that I will always cherish.

My favorite moment was the making of "Scream" by Michael Jackson, and Janet Jackson. I am Janet's #1 fan, but Michael became second once I stared at his powerful moves. I'm only 23 so I can't recall Michael at an earlier date, but I do love his music. It has a way into our hearts. He will always be in my heart.

My favorite Michael Jackson moment was seeing him do the moonwalk for the first time. After seeing that amazing dance move, I immediately got up and started trying to copy what I had just seen. It was amazing.

Tho he has many memorable moments, his entrance and exit from the Bucarest Concert for The Dangerous Tour was pure Michael style entertainment. He entered thru the floor and stood still while our hearts froze waiting for him to make a move, teasing us with slowly taking off his shades, then after the concert, he left on a jet pack!

A week ago on Thursday, I was on my way to Dubai. While waiting at LAX, Emirates Airways- Business Lounge, across from me sat a man whose cell phone constantly rung for an hour. He was repeating the name, “Michael”. Once at Dubai International, Emirates Airways- Business Lounge, I was walking by a newsstand, read the headlines that Michael Jackson had a heart attack, then realized the man above- mentioned was one of the concert sponsors for the
    “This Is It!” tour.

In 1984, while working on the Underground Atlanta and Perimeter Mall projects, a city leader invited me as a VIP guest to the Victory Tour concert. Prior to concert, I was led through the basement of the Fulton County Stadium, emerging in Michael Jackson’s dressing room. It was a surreal experience … and l always remembered the display of fresh fruits and veggies. I understand that Michael donated all of his proceeds ($5 million) from the tour to three charities, including the T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia and Cancer Research, The United Negro College Fund, and the Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times.
During the 80’s, I commuted to Miami, staying at Florida’s only 5-Star hotel –The Grand Bay Hotel. It was the playground for celebs, including Princess Diana. On several occasions, I met Randy and Jermaine at Regine’s, the rooftop nightclub. The owners (who also owned Carnival Cruise Lines) were tennis buddies and allowed me to stay in the “Michael Jackson Suite”. The Suite was double- deck, the first floor featuring a full bar and baby piano. There was a spiral staircase to the second floor. It had an African motif, including a canopy, double king -size bed, kitchenette, jazzcuui, balcony view of the ocean and a built-in dance floor…

May the soul of Michael Jackson finally be at peace … Love!

The 10th Anniversary MTV Awards - I loved the production of 'Will You Be There' – it melted my heart and frankly, he looked sexy and hot, too. But when the angel wrapped her golden wings around him - wow! I think that moment, him wrapped in the angel's wings would be the perfect memorial statue for him.

Although most MJ's music is before I was even born, one of my favorite moments is the first time he did the moonwalk. I also really like the 30th anniversary celebration when Chris Tucker came out and danced like MJ, you could just see the joy on Michael's face. He has truly left a huge impact on me, my family, friends, and people around the world.

My favorite MJ moment has to be when I saw him and his brothers at Dodger Station for their Victory Tour.

When Michael walked out on stage, something magical happened. He stood motionless for what seemed like forever but it was only for a mere few seconds.

Michael Jackson shimmered and dazzled me–I fell in love!

I will always treasure the King of Pop in my heart and my kids love him as well. He will be missed but he left a legacy of his talent.

In 1984, I took my children and nephews to stand in line to get tickets for the Jackson' final tour. I also took them to the concert. The history of this is their memory – I also cherish the fact that I helped them with it.

I am not surprised of the praise from many of his fans; I am surprised of those of you who hate this man so much. It is so obvious. The congressman, the anchor from cnn/amfix (who's absence is mine boggling) and many of you who hate to give this person his just due. I feel sorry for you (all of you who want to hate this man).

Good luck to you and yours.

My favorite memorable MJ moment was the debut of the"Thriller" video on MTV...I was 6 years old when the album was released, but I remember waiting very anxiously for the video to debut on MTV and sat in front of the TV for hours waiting.....I loved MJ from that moment on and now that I have a daughter, I will let his legacy live on and have her appreciate his talents and success as I did.

The tragic death of superstar Michael Jackson brought back memories
of when i had the pleasure of meeting M.J. years ago at the Floridian
Hotel on Disney property. My daughter and myself exchanged a few
words with him and He was very soft spoken kind person happy to be amidst people who loved Disney as much as he did. I don't doubt that time were his happier days. May he rest in peace.

i don't have one particular favorite MJ moment, but rather a collection of iconic events but my first significant encounter with him had to be at age 7 when the Billie Jean video was released & oh my goodness seeing everything light up as he walked/danced by – it was the most innovative & thrilling thing at the moment! Heck, it's still the best!

I remember that the TV would mention every time MJ was going to do a new video, we would gather around the TV in anticipation. He could move and I grew up with The Jackson 5 and then when Micheal came out on his own, I would NEVER miss any show he was on. I still cannot believe he's gone.

I grew up with Michael Jackson being only one year older and had a chance to see him in concert in the early 80's. The show was amazing! He didn't care about racial barriers as shown with his "Black and White" single. My prayers are with his family and especially his children. Let him Rest in Peace as the musical genius he was to all!!!

The tragedy of all of this Michael Jackson hoopla is that in the media's
playing favorites and the crowd a person like Farrah Faucett and her
struggle, pain, and horrible journey and lessons on faith and darned
right strength has been looked over horribly and lost. True you did
give her a small pitiful acknowledgement. Her courage in trying to tell
her story to educate others in her shoes was remarkable. Her faith in
God was a wonder to behold. This circus going on now for one who
hid from all, had many problems, used drugs to his determent is a big
farce. True he was a great preformer but was what he did what we want
our children and grandchildren to think was great, DEFINATELY NOT
IN MY BOOK and I did enjoy his music,.

I grew up in Holland were the Jackson five were very loved. Although I was very small, I sang and danced everytime they were on tv. On my 10th b-day I got the Thriller album, which I still have and cherish. My cousins and me performed every day and today on my 37th I still can do the moonwalk!!!
The King of Pop was and will always be my idol.
I have 17 year old twin daughters and they absolutely love him and are very sad from the moment CNN confirmed to the world he died.
We live on Aruba and on this island everyone is watching the news and many, many people are sad and wish to be there.
Micheal Jackson is the best that happened to the world. And what comforts me is the fact that he knew how much people around the world loved him. R.I.P. Micheal. We love you for ever...

I have many favorite MJ moments. But my favorite is probably my first. When I was 5 years old, I saw the Jacksons Family concert. Knowing I had a budding "love affair" with Michael Jackson, my parents bought the tickets the Summer of my 6th birthday. I was the only youngster in my section. This was 1976...way before cordless microphones. MJ was coming up my isle and all the adults pushed me into the isle to get a better look at him. That's when he noticed me. The only other person in the middle of that isle at the Rosemont Horizon just outside of Chicago, IL. Still singing, he tried to make his way toward me. My Mom was calling for me not to go too far. Finally, the corded microphone tugged and Michael couldn't get any closer. Knowing I was there, and just before returning to the stage, he waved and blew a little kiss to me. I think it all happened in less than 3 minutes, but it has stayed with me all these years. My moment with Michael Jackson.

His music and love for humanity will live on through me and others for the rest of our lives.

I recall being 9 years old when the record “Thriller” came out. I had just heard the song “thriller” at a playmates birthday party and my ears had never heard something so magical. At that moment, I fail in love. Weeks later, I had convinced my mother and father to buy me the album. I can’t believe he’s gone. RIP MJ

i remember when i was in high school. It was 70&80's week for seniors and some of our senior class dress liked michael jackson. from the gloves to the shoes and his outrageous jackets and hairstyles. my sister and i would sit and watch all his videos and try to do his dance moves even though we couldnt. i will always remember when he came on national television and pleaded his innocent, which i think takes a strong person to do so. his life and his musical career will forever leave a mark in our hearts but he left a mark in history and he will never be replaced.

My favorite Jackson album was Triumph (c1980). Most people don't remember that there was a song on the disc originally titled "Heartbreak Hotel", but the Jacksons were legally forced forced to change the name of the song. It became "This Place Hotel" and all the album covers had to be reprinted with that name.

I saw the Jacksons on their "Victory" tour in the mid 80's in Knoxville TN. They sold out Neyland stadium 3 nights in a row, maybe 4. Neyland's capacity is 90,000!

That would be back many years when the Jackson Five Brothers came to Los Angeles and my Sister and I meet them at the Tropicana Motel on Santa Monica Blvd (they had a performance coming up with Miss Diana Ross). We were all just young kids loving the swimming pool and had no idea Micheal would become the greatest entertainer of our time. WOW! He remained that sweet kid over the years that I believe we all missed because of his age.

A childhood missed can do this too a person. It becomes an addiction in its self.

My favortie Michael Jackson moment was when him , chris tucker , and usher performed rock my world . That is one of my all time favortie songs by him and I thought it was a great performance because you had usher who is the inspiring michael jackson and chris tucker who is the best michael jackson impersonator on stage with the real one . I was only 7 at the time , but when i saw that performance I couldn't get it out of my mind. It was short but left long memories . I wish the best for his family and loved ones through this difficult time . ( He always will be the king of pop )

My favorite Michael Jackson moment was actually the first time I saw him perform with his brothers on the Ed Sullivan show in 1969. I was 10 years old and had waited all day to see this new group called the Jackson 5. I was mesmerized as I watched him on TV. I loved the entire group but Michael stood out as my favorite. I became a Micheal Jackson fan on that very day and I have loved him ever since. It has been great growing up with Michael's music always in my life.

Michael Jackson was the personification of entertainment. Every moment he blessed the stage, he showed the world what an entertainer was... exactly what entertaining looked like. He was the King of Pop...the King of Entertainment from when he was just a boy and even posthumously. Every time I saw him walk on stage was my favorite. Its so unfortunate that for him, that meant anytime he was covered in the media outside of performing, he would be portrayed as a monster in his supposed actions and his physical appearance. Yet even in that, his fans loved and never left him. May God be pleased with you, MJ!

My favorite memory of Michael Jackson has always been the night Motown 25 aired, and my father (a massive Motown fan) insisted that I and my brother stay up to watch. I was only 7 years old at the time, but I still clearly recall sitting cross-legged in front of the television as Michael and his brothers took the stage. As exciting as that performance was, nothing compared to experiencing Billie Jean and the Moonwalk for the first time. It changed my life and awareness of music from that point on. Throughout my childhood, adolescence, and teenage years, his music was a constant; and I will always be grateful and love him for the joy he has brought me throughout my whole life.

I remember sitting around the TV with my family and watching Michael sing "Ben" on the Academy Awards in 1973...I was 10 years old and I thought, wow!, this boy can sing, this boy is going places...I guess he was the first celebrity that I fell in love with....and now of course, the rest is history....he was part of my youth, part of my life, we don't forget those things, memories we keep with us.....

wow what a hard question to answer. I grew up in the thriller era and i think my most favorite moment was the Moonwalk that was amazing to see. I still get chills watching it. I was a child looking at this man do magic (well so i thought)... he will sadly be missed but his music will be in my heart forever.I have 2 children that beg me to teach them the Moonwalk so his music and style are going to be around for generations to come.

Micheal loved people and tried to heal the world, a world that turned their back on him because we thought that he was weird. Now we know he was a decent man who was sensitive, a loving man. I'm only 18 but one of my favorite MJ moments was watching his videos over and over again one summer with my friends and being stunned by his video for The Way You Make Me Feel. We couldn't fathom why the girl in the video was walking away from him, HE"S MICHAEL JACKSON. I'm such a big fan and living proof that his music has impacted and will impact generations to come .

Although I love Michael Jackson's music and his dancing, my favorite moments were his humanitarian moments. No one really covers that as much, but he has literally given millions to charity, AIDs and such. But I saw a video that truly defined his heart. He and Lisa-Marie Presley saw a little boy (around 5) in a hospital and the boy had no energy and a green hue to him. The nurse told them that if this kid did not get a liver really soon, he's going to die. Jackson used his power and found one for the kid and his life was saved because of it. Jackson deserves credit for using his celebrity and money to do a lot of good for so many who were/are less fourtunate. Even his will has stated that 20% of his assets goes to charity. He was a musical genius with a beautiful heart, may he truly rest in peace and be proud of the legacy he left behind.

My favorite moment was when Michael shook hands with President Ronald Reagan. He looked really good before all the plastic surgery, he looked like himself.
If only he liked himself just enough....just enough that

he could have gotten help from other stars who are incredibly wealthy, and survived not having any plastic surgery at all during their tenure in Hollywood.
He probably would still be alive!

Wow. There are so many, but without a doubt it's the Mowtown 25 performance. I was about 18. Everyone I knew already loved Michael Jackson, more than any other performer, but we all grew up with him and kind of took his talent for granted. We had the Thriller album, in vinyl ofcourse and really loved it. We expected nothing less from Michael Jackson.

The night of the performance, my whole family just happened to be in the room with the tv. We saw that all the Jacksons were doing a performance and we were kind of half watching.

When Michael got ready to perform, we all started watching. We thought he would do one of his regular great performances. But what he did on that stage made us stop in our tracks. He surprised even us. I was so proud to be a Michael Jackson fan. An unwavering fan. His talent will never matched.

I'm 44 and I have loved Micheal Jackson since I was 4 years old. I feel like I have lost a distant family member. I really cant describe it. We will all miss him.

Now He's in a place where he can have the childhood that he never had. God bless him.

Michael Jackson will be missed so much by so many people. My heart goes out to his family, his children, his true friends and his fans.
My father was a fan of The Jackson 5, I grew up with Michael Jackson's music and loved his music, and my children are fans of Michael Jackson. This is a man who touched generations and will continue to do so even in death.
You will be missed but never forgotten Michael!!

I appreciate CNN for reporting facts and not fiction about Michael Jackson ... My favorite Moment of Michael Jackson was watching him when he was live in 1984 in Knoxville TN on the victory tour, he was magic, he was sensational, he was and will always be THE KING OF POP!! CNN keep up the good work, and i hate Bill O Reilly.

One of my favorite MJ moments was from his video, "Do you remember the time". At one point in the video he is in the middle of some dancers who are spinning around. Looking at the smile on his face and his smile makes me think he is happy, doing what he loves. To me, he is happy at that very moment in his life. We didn't get to see that side of him much... did we!

For all of you who feel the need to share your hateful thoughts... remember, we all have to answer to only one when we leave this world. Michael was a good man and helped many during his short life. I myself was not there to see any wrong doing by him, but I can tell you this... I wouldn't accuse a man knowing that I will have to answer for doing so one day myself.

My favorite moment is when I saw Mr. Jackson on the Ed Sullilvan Show. I was amazed to see this young boy sing so eloquently.

    Also, I want to add:
Mr. Michael Jackson was a Musical Prophet of God sent to relay in his music to make the world a better place by not being prejudice, but love one anohter. The only way to start is with your self(Man in Mirror). People are the world!!
Mr. Jackson is the greatest entainter that the whole world has seen and will ever see. He is unique because he was sent by Almighty God, A musical Prophet to the whole world.
Like all the prophets in the world(ie... Jesus,Malcom X,Dr. Martin Luther King,Bob Marley(another Musical Prophet)the Honorable Minister Farrakhan, was rejected.
May Mr. Jackson have peace and I pray for his family, his friends, his fans. Mr. Jackson is in spirit now, gone back unto God. God says i'm Alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.
I pray for his family, his friends, his fans. We love Michael Jackson and always will love him and now inside of all of us, because he is now a spirit, he is now God within us.
God bless and peace be unto Mr. Jackson.

I remember back when I was 5 or 6, my dad pulling out a VHS taping he had made of the premiere of the We Are The World video. I had heard the song before because my parents had played it for me but this was the first time I had ever seen the video and I was mesmerized. I think I asked them to rewind it and play it for me again after that first time because I fell in love with it. It's definitely one of the best songs he ever wrote, and will always be a favorite of mine.

I was only 4 years old when the "thriller" album released. I can remember to this day playing the cassette over and over again on an old boombox. In 1973 or 1974, MJ had a song titled, "with a child's heart." I have not heard the song in years and I am saddened by this because I feel that the songs fit a part of whom MJ truly was. All the coverage is nice and, with that being said, nothing can bring him back and the world has lost a musical genius.

The thing i will remember most is how he was so kind and so generous when he didn't have to be. It wasn't for publicity. I know how his heart was so kind and gentle it hurts me to see what people said about him.

A song that moves me is Heaven Can Wait because you can feel the emotion and when i hear it i just feel his presence all around.

He was a nice, funny, hansom, and kiddish kind of guy who will be remembered forever.

My prayers are with his family and friends.

I was 13 in 1985. . . .when Michael was at the height of his career. I was moved by many of his songs. My favorite was "The Way You Make Me Feel". His songs caused your imagination to to just go! I had his posters and album covers all over my room. . .people thought I was a bit ridiculous about him. But I also remember being very young and loving the song "Ben". . . I guess that was the first song that caught my attention. I am so sad to know he is gone and so upset that he will not be laid to rest at neverland! My favorite Michael Jackson moment...this is a hard question since this legend had countless great moments in life. My favorite would probably be when he saw a little Hungarian child at a hospital that was going to die because he needed a liver. He felt so sorry for the child that he contacted everyone he could to find a liver for this little child, and even paid for his liver transplant. When I saw this, I cried. Michael Jackosn was truly one of the greatest people of all time. Rest in peace, King of Pop. God Bless You.

When I first came to Canada at the age of 6, I knew 5 english words, in my neighbourhood back then I couln't play with the kids because I didn't know how to speak to them, one day I was out in my backyard blasting Billy Jean and just dancing up a storm, the little neighbour girl from next door came up to me and said "I love this song, its Michael Jackson right?" and I cheerfully replied yes, Micheal Jackson and we danced and played. I made my first friend. His music was that powerful, he brought people from all over the world together, Heal the World, make it a better place, Love that man!

My favorite Michael Jackson moment is when he came out on stage to place the cape around his Mentor's shoulders Mr. James Brown. I was so touched and so moved because of the mutual respect for each other that they had in their eyes. Michael knew he was staring into the eyes of an Icon and so did James Brown. I will love them both forever. My thought and prayers are with the families. Love Ya....Michael forever and a day!

My favorite Michael Jackson moment is watching him perform "Man in the Mirror" live...his passion and the way he makes you listen when he sings. My favorite lyric from that song is "...If you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make a change..."

Micheal Jackson accomplished his wish he is immortal the people that he has inspired will carry his memory on and pass him onto their children who will pass it on to theirs. All the people out there who are trying to bring his name down need to stop. He is a good man, a perfect dancer and beautiful singer, my prayers go out to the jackson family. I call him Uncle Mike because I feel that close to him when I memorize his dance moves and videos. Uncle Mike I miss you and I refuse to say goodbye to you today this is just to show you a tiny piece of how much we love you and owe. R.I.P.

My favorite MJ moment was his concert when he had on the gold body suit. i used to come home from school everyday and watch it on VHS because my mother had recorded it. She recorded everything Michael Jackson. I also loved the Movie he mad with the 3 little kids and he turned it a car robot. I also watched that afterschool everyday. Because it was so long i would fall asleep on it and get up to do my homework when i heard the fizzing sound from the TV indicating the VCR has shut off and the tape has rewind. LOL memories.

My first real memory of Michael is with his brothers watching the Jackson 5 cartoon on Saturday mornings. But as far as I know, I've been listening and watching him and his brothers since I was a toddler and I'll be 39 tomorrow. I can't remember a time not seeing the Jacksons... Thanks Katherine and Joe for sharing your children with the world...our lives are definitely better for it.

My favortie Michael Jackson moment was when him , chris tucker , and usher performed rock my world . That is one of my all time favortie songs by him and I thought it was a great performance because you had usher who is the inspiring michael jackson and chris tucker who is the best michael jackson impersonator on stage with the real one, but when i saw that performance I couldn’t get it out of my mind. It was short but left long memories . I wish the best for his family and loved ones through this difficult time . He always will be the king of pop

I grew up in Honolulu Hawaii
My friends and I played on the beach in front of the Kahala Hilton Hotel and saw many celebrities that were visiting Hawaii
Upon one occassion we went down to swim in the water in front of the Hotel and there was Michael Jackson and his family
They were celebrating Michael's 13th birthday and asked us to join them for dinner at the hotel
We were just kids playing at the beach – I was 14 years old at the time
We ran home and asked our parents if we could go... first my Mom said NO as they didn't know the family
Finally, we convinced our Mom to let us go and my brother and I ran back and had a sit down dinner with the family singing and entertaining us ... ABC's
the hotel had a Ice Cream soda fountain for us to make our own drinks
My brother has since passed yet during his lifetime we would always reflect back upon our "good fortune" Of having been invited to "MICHAEL JACKSON'S 13TH BIRTHDAY PARTY" while they were vacationing in Hawaii

I always had a difficult time in school and in the 1990's I would always be sent to my room for hours to do homework and study. I would go in my room jam to the Dangerous album, watch his moves, and feel the lyrics all night. It made being sent to my room alot more fun. I love you Michael I love how sometimes if you didn't like the world around you, you just created your own world fool of magic and talent. R.I.P. (tears).

I remember putting on my black pants, white glove, and red leather zipper jacket, my mother finally bought me, to dance in a room of my elementary school. I was asked to be videotaped for the school staff and students to see. They asked me to dance like Michael Jackson and do the infamous moonwalk. I was ecstatic. I was 8 years old. Michael opened the door to my spirit and made me who I am today. A woman who inspires others through my music and dance.Thank you Michael for your inspiration and power through music. He was the beauty of sound.

I was 5, it was 1983 and I found one of my mom's albums, my sister and I sang along with Michael for hours. The song was Rockin Robin. Then it was Thriller, we tried so hard to do those dance moves, but could never get them right. I will remember his music, his dance moves, and the difference he made in this world. I still have my Thriller album and my Beat it doll. for some reason I never opened it. My heart goes out to his children, his mother, his brothers and sisters. Also to all his fans across the World..

I don't think I could choose just one favorite Michael moment of mine. His entire life will be cherished and remembered. Although losing him is losing a member of my family; I dance because of him and I sing because of him. He has made such an impact on my life; bigger than anyone could know or understand. I don't believe he has truly died, he lives on through his music and the ones who loves him.

My favorite moment was in 1987, on my 20th birthday. My bestfriend, her boyfriend and I went to New York to hang out and celebrate my day. We saw a limo and some outside a bookstore said Michael Jackson was inside. We ran down the street and behold Michael was inside. The bodyguards would not allow us to come in because a crowd was gathering. We asked for an autograph and he said yes. He would sign only money, he used by pen to sign all the autographs. The smallest amount I had was a ten dollar bill, which he signed. I remember walking up to the limo so excited, michael waved once he got in. I was the most excited fan. I'm 42 now and I can remeber that as if it were yesterday. I Love You Micheal Jackson, May You Rest In Peace!!!

When I was around 12, my family and I attended a Jackson 5 concert. That evening, we realized we were staying in the same hotel and meet a member in the lobby. We were told to come to a location 1st thing the next morning to meet the Jacksons! We were estatic! We rushed to the area and every member of the group, including Michael, signed our programs on their individual pics! I remember how close Michael was standing to my older sister! I remember how nice they all were and Michaels soft, loving smile! He will always be alive in that memory and several others. I will make sure my 19 month old is also aware of what he shared with the world when she is old enough to understand! Rest in Peace Michael and you will truly be missed but never forgotten!!

Michael Jackson was so much more than an artist or an Icon, he was a human being. My heart lays heavy with sadness and grief that we have become so callous in the human condition that we overlook our cruelties to others. Michael Jackson left me with many memories, but one that remains so clearly was when a fan ran up the lift during Michaels singing of " Earth Song ". Michael held onto this man 12-14 feet above the crowd and he never let go.. he kept this man safe the entire song. It makes me wonder why it is that when Michaels spirit and soul needed to be held, we turned away from him? We allowed such pain and agony to consume him. I love you Michael.. Im so sorry..

    An Acrostic Poem

    A Tribute To Michael Jackson

A shock rippled through the globe that day
The King of Pop music had passed away
Rumors of his lifestyle was blasted feverishly
I didn’t care for the alleged, it’s the truths I see
By the time he was five years old he was a superstar
Uniting fans with his skills from countries afar
The next 4 decades he made the stage a wife
Entertained and pioneered entertainment with his extraordinary life
This boyish man gave more than generously
Over pushed himself at the dismay of his family
Michael Jackson sat by the bedsides of kids suffering
In the shadows of his spotlight he prayed for people dying
Collaborated with greats to produce even greater songs
Heal the World and Black and White to right global wrongs
And this hip popping, crotch grabbing star with his single glove
Eloquently shared off stage his big heart and liberal love
Lots of awards celebrated his dynamic fame
Jackson was loved by fans and Presidents the same
As a kid I just knew that his songs made me feel
Clouds laid beneath the places where I sat or kneel
Kindness is a deed to most but it was a condition to him
Selflessly he dug into his pockets even when times were grim
Out of my life but the Thriller will never be gone
No time will erase the Legacy which this Legend had drawn

My greatest memories of MJ of course were when I was younger because I grew up w/Micheal and his brothers. I am from Stamford, CT and my mother and her best friend took all their children at that time to see the Jackson Five in concert @Madison Square Garden. It was awesome! Live and in living color! I have albums amd posters, (which I have to get out of storage (smile), all from the Motown Sound and Micheal and the J5 are included.
My favorite song, as well as my mother's is "Maybe Tomorrow." Although it speaks volumes about relationship, it also speaks to my heart in reference to being knocked down and getting back in the race of life! God bless the Jackson family and the soul of MJ!!!!!! Now MJ can be amongst the angels and be free to be the child that he never had the chance to become!

i remember vividly the first time I heard him sing. My older sister brought home the "Diana Ross Presents the Jackson Five" album and said, "Listen to THIS!" Michael and I are the same age and I was stunned at such talent. I remember when I was in college and Michael released "Off The Wall." I was once again amazed, and found it interesting the different ways we were entering the adult world. I remember seeing his reunited with his brothers for Motown 25, and watched with tears in my eyes at what I knew was a history-making moment in entertainment as he moved into "Bilie Jean." Those are my three most vivid and cherished memories of one of the greatest entertainers ever.

Well, I have a couple. When I was around 9-10 years old the Thriller album came out. We lived in a very small town in Tenn. My mom waited almost 2 hours to buy one for me (she passed just a few years later) So this is a memory that we shared together. I had no idea the she was able to get it as I was home. She did it! AND it was an unbeivable moment when she walke through the door. The 2nd was she rented a vhs tape of the Thriller video the day it came out. We drove 20 miles to my aunts house that day just to use their video player. As we did not have one.
Michael I have loved you since day one! And I always will. Your humanity, love for people and caring ways will not be forgotten. RIP! Maybe now you can roam the world not to be tracked by all the paparazzi. Even then you were a gracious person. I love you and always will! Kris, Florida

By far my most memorable Michael Jackson moments are without query, watching the Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough, Thriller, and Black or White music videos. Michael Jackson has long been one of my most treasured musical favorites. Even if you didn't like MJ as a person, you could never deny his one-of-a-kind talent as an entertainer; and the fact the he died much before his time cements the fact that his legacy will forever be immortalized. Michael Jackson gave of himself with his gift of music and his awesome talent in all aspect of the music industry. He bridged so many gaps around the world and showed that music really is an universal language. The more he gave to us as fans and to those around was never enough and the perfectionist in Michael was probably more than even he could handle at times.

I was never more impressed than the night Michael and his sister LaToya came in to see Star Wars. After the showing, Michael was waiting in the lobby for his limo. He was dressed in a silver racing jacket that was popular at the time, an over sized cap to cover his afro and dark glasses. I walked up to him and told him that I have always loved his music up to that time and his song I'll Be There was my favorite song of all. He said thank you, being very gracious, we shook hands and then I walked away. I am going on 50 this year, and after hearing of his death that sad day I was moved and remained in shock through the next morning. He was truly an icon. RIP MJ

The favorite moments I have in regards to Michael Jackson go as far back as to when I was toddler to when he was rocking out with his brothers in 2001. My favorite moment was when I first heard "Beat It". The crazy guitar riffs, the dance beats, the rock, and of course, the awesome voice that belonged to Jackson. The song brought chills up my spine when it'd first start and it has not lost that effect.Every moment I saw him on tv, wowing the crowd with his dance moves and singing his soul into songs such as "She's Out of My Life", "You Are Not Alone" and so forth, made me smile. I still smile, his memory, music, and soul lives on, for which I am thankful to my very first idol for sharing his gift with the world who appreciated him.

I am 23 years old, and one of my first memories of Michael Jackson is when I was about 4 years old, watching "Moonwalker." Everytime "Smooth Criminal" came on, I would try to do the lean forward that he does in the video, and I would fall on my face!
According to my parents, I've loved Michael Jackson since I was a baby. The world is really going to miss him, but he will always live on through the incredible music and performances he's left behind. He is truly immortal.
RIP to the King of Pop.

How can anyone name just one favorite Michael Jackson moment ♥ I'm not even 30 yet and I have so many favorite memorable moments, but I'd have to say one of my absolute favs is when he did that live interview with Oprah Winfrey. I was only about 11 years old at the time, but I remember it being the very first time I was able to see the "normal" side of him, his calm tone, his concentrated demeanor, the passion in his eyes and on his face when his past was discussed, or when the state of the world was discussed, his love for helping children, and even the ridiculous rumors he addressed. I loved him before then, but that was the interview that even as a child I decided to always believe in him and I did from that point on.

I grew up with Michael's music. In my eyes he was honestly an angel here on earth sent from god. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and close friends. I feel that Michael gave the world so much love and happiness and I just wished he was here to know how much he was loved. I honestly believe that he is singing with the angels now and watching down on us.

I grew up on Michael in the 70"s and I love all his songs, my daughter was born in 1992 and it amazed me how this child would be sleeping and while sleeping she would hear You are not alone, and she would get up sing this song and once the song was done she would go straight back to sleep, I was so amazed that even though she was that young Michael's music touch this little child, and todays she listens to all his music, she just loves him so much.

I remember when I was in 5th grade in Chattanooga, Tn, one of my teacher's daughter's was in the "Remember the Time" video and she let the whole school come to her classroom and watch the video before it premiered. I tried my hardest to mimic the dance and when I finally got it, I thought I was Michael Jackson. WE LOVE YOU MIKE!!!

The Thriller album made me a true fan of Michael Jackson. In the 80's all my friends were well aware of how much I admired Michael. I had pictures all over my wall in my bedroom of him. My most fondest memory and the best gift I have ever gotten to this day was when my best friend's father presented me with tickets to the Jackson's Victory tour.
The other greatest moment was when I was in Junior high, now known as Middle School..I asked my choir director if we could perform We Are The World as our finale song in our concert. He loved the idea. I was so excited. I helped coordinate the program where many of us would have our own solos just as the song is. I had the part by Steve Perry. I will miss Michael, but he live on in my heart!

Michael Jackson will be missed and dearly loved by many of his fans. To remember a moment of michael jackson is hard for me because there were so many great moments. His music for one was the best and it cannot be replaced by anyone else. He himself was a kind person and many people admired that. The legacy that he left behind will live on forever. He will be remembered for many things, but for me mainly by his music and the kind person that he was. i had heard his music while growing up and i respect that very much. My favorite moment is when he performed on American Bandstand. I was sitting on our couch and my mother was in the kitchen, she came out and grabbed my hand and we danced to "A B C". It was the only time I had seen my mother show affection. I still have my Jackson 5 poster and will cherish it even more now. He was a beautiful person, despite the troubles he was faced with. He broke barriers like no other, and touched so many lives...all races, creeds and colors. To me that is a accomplishment that will not be repeated in my lifetime. God Bless you Michael, RIP. P.S. Don't dance with my mother till I get there!

I always had a difficult time in school and in the 1990’s I would always be sent to my room for hours to do homework and study. I would go in my room jam to the Dangerous album, watch his moves, and feel the lyrics all night. It made being sent to my room alot more fun. I love you Michael I love how sometimes if you didn’t like the world around you, you just created your own world full of magic and talent. R.I.P. (tears).

But after a litte more practice we did prett well, but we couldn't top Michael Jackson and his moonwalk... in a matter of fact nobody can because thers only one dancer/singer named Michael Jackson and nobody can't have a bigger name than his.

My favorite moment of Michael Jackson was when I went to see him in England for the Bad and Dangerous tours in "88" and "92".
August 29, 1988, in Leeds, England, the stage was set and a huge screen came up slowly with flashing light bulbs and the king just stood there, I was so overcome with emotion to see such a powerful icon standing there, we share the same birthday, August 29th and he performed on his birthday in 1988 in England and the whole crowd of 90,000 people sang "Happy Birthday" I think he was more blown away than the crowd.
Very humble gracious person to have ever been part of this world.

One of my favorite memories that come to mind when I think about Michael Jackson actually is much later in his career;when Michael Jackson and Chris Tucker came together for the "You Rock My World" video off of the Invincible album. I loved the chemistry that Chris Tucker and Michael Jackson had in the video and it was so interesting to hear Chris Tucker use many of Michael Jackson's song title's to speak during the video. I still sing that song on a daily basis

I'm only 18 and was not alive during his most popular albums, however I grew up in a home that made sure i knew who Michael Jackson was and how important to my own African Maerican culture he was. My mother sat with me on the day of his death and talked about watching Michael Jackson do his moonwalk for the first time on television. I still remember having nightmares from the thriller video, dropping my jaw at how far Michael Jackson could lean in the Smooth Criminal video, and even recently being inspired by many of his lyrics.

In my eyes Michael Jackson will forever live through his music. I wish all the negative press would stop and people would focus on the celebration of Michael Jackson. I like how Jamie Foxx put it in the after show at the BET Awards "People forget Michael Jackson only owed us the musaic. That's all. He didn't owe us his family or his personal life. All he owed us was the music," and he gave us some of the greatest music the world will ever know. I send my condolences to the Jackson's and may he forever rermain the King of Pop and Rest In Paradise.

I am 52 years old now but this memory I will never forget. I was in the 6th grade and my aunt took me and my friends to see the Jackson 5. We had front row seats! What I remember the most was grown women that had brought their children to see them were passing out right and left in awe of MJ. I mean these grown women were being taken out on stretchers with their children walking along side them! To think that this little kid had so much charisma is just awesome. There will never be another like MJ. My prayers go up to his family and may he rest in peace.

I wanted to share this with all. Here are some lessons I learned from Michael's life:

    1. We should learn to accept people as they are, with their race, color and body/facial features. It was racism that pushed Michael to change his face and what a price he paid. It was the fault of those people who made fun of him that he changed his face – and his whole life made fun of. We should limit our comments when it comes to people with any defects as small as they may be.

    2. We should learn to be more sensitive to those that are hyper sensitive and understand that they need their time, space and respect. It was the overwhelming press/tabloids that pushed Michael to be a recluse and not enjoy his life.

    3. We should learn to not judge without any proof of guilt. It was the false accusations of a family that was after his money, that was hipocrit to his true friendship that destroyed his fame, fortune and finally his spirit. As you know we are not the final judge – God is, remember that.

    4. We should learn to look after friends and family members that go through hardships and help – not abandon them to their fate. It was the lack of true friends that pushed Michael to look for people that were after financial interests and at the end perform malpractice on him.

All in all, we should learn from his mistakes and as he said – change the way we are.

My favorite MJ Albums has to be Thriller & Off the Wall. Michael Jackson revolutionized the music industry. He rightfully can be compared to all of the greats...Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Beatles and countless others.....

One of my favorite Michael Jackson moments was when the BAD video was first aired on tv in its entirety. It was awesome! The airing of the Thriller video and his great Motown 25 performance of Billie Jean are my other favorite moments. I love Michael Jackson. To me, he is the greatest entertainer of all time! I was in high school in Atlanta, Georgia and participated in a fundraiser for a children's charity and The Heal The World Foundation by singing with a chorus of children. As we were singing Heal The World on stage at the Omni arena Michael came onto the stage and waved to the crowd and then turned and smiled at us. I am a HUGE fan but I never was able to see him in concert. This was the only time I ever got to see him in the flesh. I will 'remember that time' forever.

The greatest moment for me was the day I introduced Michael Jackson in video to my 2 year old. He was always getting into things and when the video The way you make me feel came on it was like a stress reliever for me he became glued to the television. Since then my son now is 22 years old and he has became a young man who loves music he loves itunes and I love cd's. but we still talk about that moment when he was in terrible two's mode. 🙂 RIP Michael your finally going home please don't forget us we will not forget you.

I remember being a 4 year old kid watching the Thriller music video, and getting scared at the zombie scenes in the music video. But soon enough, I started liking the video and the way the MJ and the zombies started dancing....that scene stuck in my head the most.

Lovely memories later followed with other hits like Beat it, Smooth Criminal, BAD, and Black or White. Growing up to MJ was a sheer joy, and I really do wish him and his family sollace and peace in this time of rememberance. MJ was an innocent, kind and good human being and that's the way he should be remembered.

I am very disappointed with not only CNN but with all the other news broadcast stations who have focused more on MJ than other way more important things going on in the world. What has this world come to, where one disturbed man is more important than men and women on the other side of the word who are fighting for their country, or the economy? I could have handled one day of "poor MJ", but enough is enough. MJ was a star, he had a bitter sweet life, some things he couldn't control but many he could. He is now lying in the bed he made!

My "favorite MJ moment" would be any, which privileged me with seeing him dance...sing...reach unimaginable heights of talent and excellence!

Michael had the gift of transcending all demographics...for, he was ageless...without race, lor gender, really...a truly "free spirit" and extraordinary element, who ELEVATED me...every conceivable way.

When he was a child, I "adopted" him, and watched his grow and flower into one of history's most accomplished performers. I always called Michael, "my son"...

Now, he has been called Home...twenty days after my 65th birthday. The morning after his passing, I arose at 5 in the morning...put-on one of his CD's...and DANCED, as I had in my youth! With abandon...with sheer and utter JOY...with the spirit of celebrating someone who always brought-out the BEST in everyone...made the world RICHER and BRIGHTER for his having lived in it...and, left an incomparable legacy and body of works.

To me, Michael joins Elvis, and Sinatra, as the GREATEST in modern music...for, no one can or will eclipse them, and their unique, charismatic means of "touching" people...and, causing us all to feel HOPE, regardless of our circumstances.

I have no doubt that I shall see "my son", On the Other Side. He'll be there with my beloved husband, and All that is Sensitive and Good.

    Rest well, Sweet are loved...

I have been a fan since MJ's first show on Ed Sullivan. I can't say that I have one special moment as there are many. Michael was a musical genious, talented entertainer and gave his all for many years for his fans. My daughter grew up loving Michael and his music. His music has touched so many people and brought people together in all cultures. We have lost a star too early. My prayers are with his family, children and friends. Some people should have appreciated him more for the person he was. We will not see another performer of this magnitude for many decades. We will shed our tears and mourn our lose, but Michael's music, videos will go on for us to only see and dream of what Michael would have given to us should he have lived. I send my love, thoughts and respect to the King of Pop. May he Rest in Peace.

All of the moments I shared with millions of people were my favorite, however I shall never forget the Dangerous Tour. I had the pleasure of attending here in Kansas City Missouri in 1984. It was the first stop for that tour and at that time you had to purchase at least 4 tickets at a time. It didnt matter.. it was a sell out. however they later retracted that option. One of my favorite is the "smooth criminal" and "black and white". It was the "never can say good-bye". I had hoped the family would not bring his body to the center. I don't think Michael ever wanted to be on display except when he was performing. I believe that he was indeed very self concious, soley due to his "abusive father". How sad that was. I feel like I have lost a member of my family. I have listened and loved Michael all of his life.

As kids, we'd practiced and performed the Jackson Five hit, ABC in the basement. Michael and I were born a week apart, so I've always felt he was, as goes the Chines culture, my SAME OLD, that we're highly spiritually connected–and this when age played a significant part in my understanding. Prince was also 'in the womb' when Michael and I were. So I've grown up with Michael, and I love him like a brother, like...myself.

I came from a small lumber and coal town called Richwood, WV. Michael was such an influence and inspiration to me growing up. I began breakdancing at a young age and Michael was one of the main people we would try to copy in our style, which unfortunately was much too difficult at that age or any age for that matter.

I fell in love with Michael's music and the way he performed, and when the Thriller video came out I would sit in front of the TV all day long waiting for the video to be shown on MTV. He was definitely an icon and will go down as one of the, if not THE greatest singer, song writer, and performer of all time. He will truly be missed and his songs will live on in our lives forever. RIP Michael.

    Hi Heidi,
My favorite Michael Jackson memory was when he sang "A Child's Heart" on soul train as a young child. He was so talented and could keep old and young glued to the TV when he sang. He made me feel as a child that dreams were possible. And as the years passed by the songs kept coming and coming. I will miss MJ...I am now a adult glued to the TV saying goodbye to the man who's has given me and many other many memories....Thanks Michael...RIP

I have 2 favorite moments. One was when I went to Prague for the opening of the HIStory tour and took a gift for Michael and he came to me and took it one evening outside the hotel.

The other was at the hotel at the Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when I met him in the hall by the elevators.

I have been a Michael Jackson fan for the past 38 years. I have thousands of fond memories of Michael. It's funny, most of my friends refer to me as Michael, and I often break out into an impromptu Billie Jean dance scene. That's how much of a fan I am. My favorite all time song is "Never can say goodbye," but I had a favorite song on each of his albums. Michael just had a way of connecting to people through his music and it will be a long time if ever, before we see someone of his caliber to come along again. May he rest in peace now!

My favorite Michael Jackson moment was in 1999 watching my then 2 year old son Noeah dancing to the video Smooth Criminal. This awakened his love of dance and since that moment on, he has done nothing but dance. He is 12 now and Micheal Jackson is still the reason why he dances and the greatest influence in his life. He will be greatly missed and for a now 12 year old boy in Florida ,he will always be alive everytime my son performs one of his routines on stage.

Michael Jackson will forever have my respect for being THE ultimate entertainer, but moreso for using his star power as a humanitarian. From his projects for "We are the World" and "Heal the World," he made countless other songs attempting to direct the public's attention to the ills of so many in the world. His songs, "Be Not Always," "Earth Song, and the hit, "Man in the Mirror" were all calls to action for all of us.

For all of the media's coverage of his debt, a great deal of Michael's money (MILLIONS) went to charities around the globe. For all of the speculation about his pride in his race, he made African beats, lyrics and dance the forefront of many of his songs for DECADES from "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" to "Liberian Girl" to "Remember the Time."

Without question, the story about THE REAL Michael Jackson has taken a backseat to the media's appetite for the sensational and bizarre, even at the expense of accuracy and truth. I am sad to see MJ go, but I wish him peace.

I was fortunate enough to see him during his first tour, the Bad Tour back in 1988. I was 19 at the time. I grew up just a few miles from where the Jackson family lived in Gary, so he was a household name for me from birth. I was privileged to write the review of his Chicago concert for my college newspaper. I can tell you from a first-person perspective the man put on one heckuva show, and he RUINED every other concert for me because NO ONE could TOUCH his live shows!!! Lasers, LED displays, was phenomenal.

MJ you will be missed, but I wish you peace.

As an educator i cannot overstress the concept of world peace and true fraternity. Mr. Micheal Jackson, as all of us, have flaws. I think that we need to be focusing on his positive message to the world. I collected some quotes that evoked "teachable moments" in my classroom for decades. There are lessons to be learned either way. I prefer to focus on the positive and the humanitarian effort of Mr. Jackson.

"Take my message to your brother
    And tell him twice
    Spread the word and try
    to teach the man
    Who's hating his brother, "

    "Every breath you take
    Is someone's death
    in another place
    (Another place)
    Every healthy smile
    Is hunger and strife
    to another child"

    "Close your eyes
    And imagine
    with me
    see the wonder
    In every living thing
    If we can live life
The way it is in my dreams
Love will take us to a place
    where God can be seen"

"And the dream we were conceived in
    Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
    Will shine again in grace"

I could go on and on. This is my favorite:

I'm Starting With The Man In
    The Mirror
    I'm Asking Him To Change
    His Ways
    And No Message Could Have
    Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
    A Better Place
    (If You Wanna Make The
    World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
    Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And
    Then Make A Change)"

I hope that we can learn more about the love than about the other things that may cloud the true essence of a man who just wanted to be loved. His art will indeed make him immortal. We all want that to some degree.

My condolences to the Jackson family and all those who loved him.

    Michael – Gone Too Soon

    Moonwalks across the stage
I see him and I see the fans’ rage
Can’t get enough it’s gone too soon
He vanishes like the shadows at high noon
A song sung with no harmony then the music comes in
    Entertainers pluck their guitar string
Like the sunset that dies with the rising of the moon
Gone with a the twinkling of the eye, gone too soon
On a cloudy day the sun may vanish away
No time to play, goon too soon, ‘til another day
Evening sky lit with the blazing comet
Tail gone too soon, you can’t find it
Or a rainbow shiny and sparkling, splendidly bright
Overhead is gone too soon when evening makes night
Sand castle built on the tide line at the beach
Overcome and gone too soon within the waves’ reach
Our Michael with his muse, inspiration and delightful tune
Now or at any time later would be Gone Too Soon!

I grew up listening to Michael all my life. His music is what kept me going when times were tough at home with my mom and dad going through their seperation. My dad would put the Thriller album on literally everyday on the way to school and I was hooked. We would sing all the way there, dance to it at home and it was the best moments, I would even listen to it before I would go to bed. To this day I never get tired of listening to his songs. There aren't many good memories of me and my father when I was young so I want to thank Michael Jackson for bringing me the most beautiful memories of me and my father that I will treasure forever. Michael's memory and legacy will live on forever. RIP MJ, we've truly lost an icon and he will truly be missed.

We've enjoyed ALL of Michael's songs and videos since my childrens age of 8 and 9. My children, Serena and Garrett and myself are devasated over the death of Michael. We've cried and only regret I have is not trying harder to get tickets for my children to see him or even notifying Michael which with his kind heart may have seen that my children were able to see him in concert or just to see him in person. This has been a very sad, sad time for us as well as the world and his family but his music will go on forever and we'll get to meet in heaven and NO-ONE will be making false accusations on him anymore he is in PEACE with our HEAVENLY FATHER. GOD BLESS YOU MICHAEL WE'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER!

I was born in 1981 and have been listening to MJ for as long as I can remember so I don't have specific memory of how I felt when I first heard 'Thriller', 'Off the Wall', 'Smooth Criminal', etc, etc. I remember of course the music videos and just being astonished by this guy's skill and abilities to entertain.

My strongest memory I have was following September 11th and seeing the 'You Rock My World' video for the first time. The more than 13 minute video including Chris Tucker, Michael Madsen a.k.a Sonny Black and Marlon Brando. The music & the dancing epitomizes everything about him. More than than 30 years as a performer and he just completely reinvigorated himself into our lives – at least that's how I felt.

I cannot remember a time when Michael Jackson, the Jacksons or the Jackson 5 were not in my life. Abc, Going Back to Indiana, Stop The Love You Save May Be Your Own, Ben, You Push Me Away, and Shake Your Body Down To The Ground, just to name a few. And the many many more recent hits like Dirty Dianna, Heartbreak Hotel, Smooth Criminal, Thriller and alone, Again to name a few. We have lost a good friend and so much beautiful music. I went to the victory tour concerts, it was just wonderful to be in the same arena with such talent, grace, and gentleness. I had looked forward to more music and good times, watching you shine. I have a big empty spot in my life and I will miss you until I join you and others I love. LOVE YOU MICHAEL, see you later.

He was generous and the most kind soul that there is in our enternanment industry there will never be another like Our beloved Michael. Not in my life time at least. It's hard to say what my absolute favorite Michael moment was because there were so many. Like others, the 25th Anniversary of Motown was one of my first memories of Michael. But everytime I saw him through videos, interviews, or clips of his live performances, it always left an imprint on me that I'll always remember. He's just larger than life and so inspirational, I love music & dance because of him. It's very hard to accept he's no longer here. Gone too soon, but a legend forever in my heart.

One out of Many of my favorite Michael Jackson moments where he moved me was: Grammy Awards 1988. Now Im only 26 yrs old.. I will be 27 later this year so imagine I was only 6 yrs old when he performed@ this awards show. He sang "The way u make me feel" and "Man in the Mirror"... If you take a look at that show.. Its amazing. I think that was one show Mike fell to the floor on his kness singing and crying.
That performance brought a spirit over my body that was out of this world. I kid you not, to only be 6 yrs old. It was taped and watched over and over again til I became a teenager. Although I was not there, his presence touched me through the TV screen. I think I sat there and cried the 1st time seeing it. I just thought to myself. WOW! Here is one man that really cares about World Peace.. he writes it in his music and honestly breakdwn when singing it! What a GREAT person he is.
Now that goes to show you the kind of affect this man had on not just grown people but EVERYBODY! I mean, I was 6. That performance changed my life perspective on change. It also made me believe Michael Jackson was like the worlds Super Hero. Thats how I felt as a kid and as I became an adult~ regardless on the media hype... I always saw MJ as that man (whn I was a kid) that really wanted to make the world a better place thru his music. WE WILL MISS U MIKE. GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.

I will never forget the 25th Anniversary special. It was unbelievable! I remember instantly loving him and thinking he was the most gorgeous man ever. I think he truly broke the racial barriers for people everywhere not only with his looks but with his style and grace as well. He was such a loving, giving person. He loved children and helped so many. I wish the media would have focused on the contributions he had made over the years. He obviously had internal emotional issues, unhappiness and never had a childhood. He never thought he was good enough yet he was brilliant and beautiful inside and out. Maybe he would be here today had he seen the out pouring of love and support during his tough times. It is so sad that he felt all alone. I hope he can see the the love and appreciation the world has for him and finally gain eternal peace. I just wish he would have seen it before our loss of a legend.

My favorite Michael Jackson moment is just watching him dance and sing live. His voice is beyond good. There's a sound in his voice that just goes straight to my heart. His dance moves is something that I just can't keep my eyes off . He is so magical and when he enters a room everyone notices him. I am just 20 years old, but I starting listening to Michael Jacksons music since the day I could remember. My family and I love him so much. I remember watching "remember the time" that video was so beautiful. Not only that but when Michael jackson won awards, he seemed so shy, but when he performs something goes through him. I love Michael Jackson so much. Everyday my hearts aches because he is gone way to soon.
I Love so Much Michael, You are not just the " King of Pop" but your the "King of Music"

I never had the opportunity to see Michael Jackson perform. But by watching his videos, anyone can tell that he was full of passion, heart, and talent. Michael made an ENORMOUS impact on everyone's lives and will NEVER be forgotten. It seems like Michael has been around forever, and for him to suddenly leave, it really hits us between the eyes. But Michael Jackson will live forever through his music. Let us watch his memorial in celebration and happiness. R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Hi Heidi, I am 31 yrs old and Michael Jackson is my generation's Elvis. I have many memories of MJ, but the one that sticks out for me is actually going to a local record store with my mother to buy his new album at the time Bad. It was in 1988 I believe. When we got home my mother and my sister and I sat on the bed and listened together. My mother who passed recently loved MJ. She let us stay up late to watch the Bad video premiere on MTV as well. My mother left me and my sisters with a love for music, all music. She also taught us tolerence. No matter how eccentric he was or how many bad choices he made; he was a humanitarian and a very caring, concerned person. He was loved by my family, faults and all. He was magic and no one will ever be that magical again.

I was Born in the year of Thriller. I stood and danced for the first time when I heard it on the radio. My dad saw me and turned it off and I dropped to the ground and started crying. So he turned it back on and and i got up and started dancing again. He did this about 4 more times. Ever since that moment I've ALWAYS had a copy of thriller and anything else Michael Jackson I could get my hands on. There was something about his music that just made me want to dance dance dance!!! He has influenced my life, through his music, in so many ways. He was a TRUE visionary and the world has lost a part of music that can NEVER be replaced. We Love you Michael !!!!

Boy!! We were too excited and I was wearing a glitter glove, the black pants, white socks and black loafers just like him!!! Couldn't nobody tell me nothing!! I tried to do the moonwalk!! Hi Heidi!
I literally grew up with Michael's music where I lived in the Chicagoland area and I was in my early teens when he started singing and everything he did had a meaning. My first recollection was Ben and I remembered it seemed like such a sad and lonely song. I often wonder if he was telling us back then of his loneliness for friendships with kids his own age. But the one song that I thik told his true feelings for God's children living as one, was in "We Are The World". My prayers go out to his family each and everyone.

At that time I became an instant Michael Jackson fan and anyone who knows me will tell you that. Now, at 35, I am still that same fan. His music, his dancing, his kindness, his sense of humor, and his love cannot be ignored. Let's pray for his family because they are suffering a BIG loss. I remember my first time seeing Michael when i was maybe 3 years old in 1986. They were playing Thriller on tv. I grew up listening to his music, my whole family Loved him so much. I had an older brother who was bron mentally challenged and everytime he heard his music he would smile. My brother died in 1988 and after Michael died it seems as though an era has come to an end. Thank you for your coverage of Michael and all of the people who make negative comments about Michael and his life are heartless and have no consideration for his family and the millions of people who are mourning his death. There will never be another performer as great as he was. No one has ever touched as many people as he did and no one ever will. RIP Michael.

My favorite memory of Michael Jackson is when he performed Billie Jean and graciously moonwalked across the floor. No one has ever been able to master the moonwalk as Michael Jackson has. He was the greatest. My children are 4 and 6 and they LOVE listening to and watching his videos. If you listen to his music, never once did he use profane language nor did he degrade women. Michael Jackson's music touched many lives. He will truly be missed.

I am an 11yr old here in Georgia and when Micheal died I had no feeling, because my body felt numb and my hands were frozen. Micheal was NOT a legend. To some he was family, to others he was a prophecy/idol, to me he was a word never created, a myth. I wouldn't even be suprised if by 3009 people still heard his music. Micheal was like a father to me. He taught me the truth of the world through his music that would never be forgotten. Micheal will live until the ends of time. I "Never Can Say Goodbye" to Micheal. I will always "Remember The time" of his music and his living.

    Hi Heidi,

My favorite MJ moment has to be when he glided across the stage to debut the moonwalk for the very first time on the Motown 25th Anniversary Special. When I watch the video footage today it strikes me how flawless his performance was. It will go down as the most influential moment in American pop culture history which also instantly turned Michael Jackson into a prominant civil rights figure. Everyone wanted to be MJ and issues of race, gender, and identity became irrelevant. His sheer talent transcended what was possible in the world.

    Hi Heidi,
My favorite Michael Jackson memory is buying 2 thriller albums. One for my self, and one for keep sake for my son, that was only 2years at the time. It is good to see that CNN seems to be the first major net work, making a change to concentrate on Michael's music, with less emphasis on the negative stuff. Because after all, the negative stuff is going to die a natural death, and it's the music that will live on.

    Dear Heidi,
One of my favorite moments in the life of Michael Jackson was his signature "Moonwalk" dance followed by one of my favorite songs, "Billie Jean". I just loved watching him dance so agile and smooth, and the song "Billie Jean" was perfect with it. I really enjoyed watching the video of him performing the moonwalk to the tune of "Billie Jean". I grew up watching the Jackson family perform as a group. But I must confess, Michael Jackson was a genius with his music and his dance moves. I have my daughter's Michael Jackson doll wearing a replica of his red suit worn during his video performance of Thriller. This is my second most fondest moment that I've enjjoyed watching. I will always cherish his gift of music and his signature "Moonwalk Dance steps. I will always respect his humanitarian efforts towards the children. Sincerely, Lucinda Magwood.

My M.J. moment was sitting in the family room with my parents and six my sister waiting for the Jackson 5 to come on stage of the Ed Sullivan Show. At that time blacks & white TV's were the tech. When the Jackson 5 came out to perform Michael Jackson and his brothers inspired six black girls to know that we (blacks)are not the one- third human that America said we were, but that we are Kings, and Queens .A people of royality that God created us to be.

Thank you M.J. for showing the world that we are a people that God bestowed talent like your on a people like us.

Michael Jackson has the safest pop music ever known. My boys are 10,8 and 6 and they were beginning to get exposed to todays music. Since I did not appreciate it, I introduced them to MJ and within two years, they can sing atleast 80% of his songs. Thanks Michael for showing my boys what real Music is and that hard work pays. They are Heartbroken now but They as well as others will keep you alive.

My favorite memory would have to be the "Thriller" music video and when he moonwalked across the stage. I also really like the songs ABC and I'll Be There when he was part of the Jackson Five group. When Michael was on stage, it was like magic. His music will live on forever. He changed the entertainment industry and he was a shining star to many around the world. He will always be the King of Pop.

When I was a little boy my mother always played michael, Hes was and still is made idol. I watched him in everyway and tried to immulate everything. Michael to me is a symbolic figure that can make people feel so . There will NEVER be anyone that can fill his shoes. When ever i get to dance around people they like the way i move, and i tell them "you like the michael jackson moves" I learned from the best.

Let this beatiful man live on.. and man he will he will, ole'boy he will.

My favorite memory is Michael holding a little boy. The little boy was someone unknown to him that needed a liver transplant. Michael paid for everything. Kids were a big part of his life because he could just be himself. around them. They didn't need or expect anything from him.
Michael was right on target. Kids are sweet and innocent and a pure joy to be around. I am so glad that he had three children to give all of his love to.
I will always love Michael. I am sure he is teaching the other angels to moonwalk!

My favorite memory was probably when i heard the song bad, and saw the video. Because it was my first time seeing Michael as being a bad boy from his sweet, and shyness. And i loved it, it showed that he could be both the sweet kind soul that he was and outgoing bad boy to.
You will be missed greatly your spirit will live in my heart.

Michael Jackson, never a dull moment all his life and will always be no matter what. Every breath he gave to the world, I will treasure. I watched Michael since his first in Stage. I grew up with every move that he made. I am nine years older than him. I want to say to him, Micheal the love for you will forever be, I wish that I could love much more than you. I love you and my spirit ride...Thank you so much for all of your love....

I just loved seeing him in his element! -singing, dancing, performing, entertaining,- there was a certain sense of drama, and presence he commanded when on stage. HE WAS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! – Thank you Michael for inspiring and moving us with your talent and life. May you rest in peace. -And to all you negative, angry, judgemental people: Say what you want, but you cannot deny his success. No one in the music business has ever done, or will ever do what he was able to achieve in his career. Facts are facts.

this is a correction I mentioned the "Dangerous" tour I in fact meant the "Victory" tour. that began in1984 in Kansas City, Missouri.. I cant believe he is no longer in our presence. but he is not gone.. he will forever live in his music and videos and in my heart. On another note, I will like to say that I firmly believe that Michael's passing was at the hands of one of the doctors taking care of him. Whoever it was badly botched the administering of some drug, in trying to help, killed him instead. I look forward to the "true story of what really happened. Michael was Killed accident or not.

My favorite memory of Michael Jackson is his music and dancing. My children at the age of 2 & 3 must have watched the Moonwalker movie over 200 times! They tried to repeat every word that he said(they were just toddlers--imagine how that looked!) and dance like him. Every time the Smooth Criminal video started to play, they would run and get a cap of mine to put on their heads so that they could throw them when he tossed the hat from his head. Oh what a sight! I have missed a chance to take them to live show of his and they are now 22 & 21 and still big fans of his. We love you Michael Jackson and thank God for blessing the world with your presence. "I never can say good-bye"Micheal Jackson being gone is so hard to believe. I loved Micheal Jackson he was just one of a kind. I enjoyed listening to the Jackson 5's greatest and the Jacksons. They are a phenomenal family.

I have not a bad word to say about any of them not even" Joe Jackson". People can say what they want about Mr. Joe Jackson, but if it wasn't for him there would of been no Micheal Jackson. I heard the stories and testimonies from even Micheal himself on how hard his Dad has been on him, but I thank God for him anyway for what he has accomplish for his Children. I admired Mrs. Katherine Jacksons strength for her family and the loss of her "baby boy". She has already known that she lost her son many years ago, Now the time has come for her to bury him and send him up to the Lord.

May God strengthen every family member and friend of Micheal Jackson in their bereavement. Remembering that this is not a time of sorrow, but a time to rejoice in the Lord that Micheal is out of pain and suffering.

Every moment that he appeared on television was awesome for me. He was so electrifying and magical, the best male entertainer by far. The music he made was so emotionally touching (the slow ballads). Ever since hearing about Michael Jackson death, I had played the Thriller album and his Number One album. Seeing the memorial setup at the Staples Center is making it so real, that I am so sadden, because I never did get to see the Legend perform in person. I will always love MJ the composer and entertainer.

No matter all the negativity that might have surrounded him in life you must respect the man had musical genius in him. My prayers go out to the family!!!

MJ meant a lot to me but when he released the video/song "Keep It In the Closet" with Naomi Campbell I realized that I was a beautiful black girl and I could be anything in the world I wanted to. For years prior to that I felt like being dark skinned was a curse since I wanted to be a journalist on tv. When I saw MJ and Naomi my mind set changed. Thats when I developed self esteem and love for myself. Sounds wired but there wernt too many dark black women on tv seen in a good light! The fact that MJ felt that she was beautiful made me feel beautiful. Look at his previous videos, he had mixed or light women. I felt empowered after seeing that video.

My favorite Michael Jackson moment is when I got to go to the Jackson's Victory Tour in Kansas City 25 years ago this month. The system for applying for tickets was the same as it was for today's memorial service. I applied for 4 tickets, knowing that one would be for me and one for my sister. I knew I could find two other people to go. I was selected and went to the post office to pick up my tickets in Augusta, Kansas. I was soooo excited! I couldn't believe it! I sold my other two tickets to a friend of mine and a friend of my sister. We drove to Kansas City and witnessed the most amazing concert by Michael and his brothers. I will NEVER forget it. I haved loved him and his music since I was a child and I will continue to do so forever.

It was December 1983' and during the height of Thriller, when Michael Jackson came to Brooklyn, NY. Emmanuel Lewis lived in Flatbush, and there was a rumor floating around at our local JHS that MJ would be at Emmanuel's home after school. When the school bell rang at 3P.M., I, along with many of the students from my school, raced to the block which was in walking distance and en route from our school. When we arrived, there was a baby blue limo parked outside of the Lewis home. Minutes later and to our surprise, it was true!!!! Michael Jackson exited the home with the Lewis family. It was something that seemed so surreal. To be a teen at that time and to see Michael Jackson in person, right in front of you, and in your own neighborhood - Brooklyn of all places, is still something that I can't even fathom 26 years later. My friends and I still reflect on that experience to this day. We felt so lucky to have been able to experience one of the most magical, influential, human beings and artists of all time. His music soothed our souls, brought us together, and his legacy will continue to live on.

In December 1982, I hosted a huge holiday party. To ensure the success of the gathering, I made sure that I had purchased the most exciting dance music of the season. All I really needed was the recently released "Thriller" album and we partied all night. On that night, December 28, 1982, I danced for the first time with the man who would later become my husband, to the music of Michael Jackson. I still have the album and I still have the husband!! The man and his music will last forever and that truly is a "Gift from God". The accolades that are being bestowed upon him now are simply a down payment on what he and his family has given the world.

I remember being 6 years old and hearing his song "Black or White" and i remember absolutely LOVING it. The next day i went out with my mom and i bought every CD of his and bought nearly every DVD of his live performances and his "History" dvds. Then, i remember staying up until about 2 in the morning to watch the premier of "ghosts" and that has to be my favorite short film of his. I love his music so much, "Heal the World" and "Earth Song" touched my heart. Michael had that kind of power over people, he really cared about the world and cared about children and people and he made you want to change and be as good of a person as he was. No matter what, through all of the allegations and through all of the ridicule, he stayed true to himself and always tried his very hardest. He will always be the King and no one will ever forget him, he was a truly amazing person and I hope he is in a better place now where he can carry on that childlike spirit and won't be questioned about it anymore, he can really be happy now after being so sad for so many years, he deserves the world. I am a performer, music is my life and he is such an inspiration to me because of his amazing performances and his determination. He really loved what he did and his spirit will live on through his music, and i know that is what he would want.

I was 5 years old, in Saint John New Brunswick Canada, when my dad bought me my first record player, and my first 45 (I'll be there by the Jackson 5). That was 40 years ago. Growing up listening and dancing to his music, reading his book, taping his interviews, remembering the premiere of his Thriller video, I am deeply saddened by his death.
I had the opportunity to see him in Toronto in 1984 for the Jackson 5 Victory Tour.
I was a singer, at the age of 20, from a small city in New Brunswick ,playing the club circuit in Ontario, when I heard the news of the Jacksons performing at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, in October of 1984. I freaked ...I had to attend and drove to Toronto, leaving the rest of my band members behind, to take a couple of days off, while I went off to catch a glimpse of MJ. The funny thing was I did not have a ticket. The production company we were working with at the time, thought possibly they could acquire a ticket for me. It was an hour before the show began, and to my surprise, I was given a backstage all access pass, and the opportunity to drive into the stadium in (1 )of very many limo's lined up to enter this wonderful event. This was truly one of the biggest gifts I could ever ask for.. I was so excited!! Although I didn't meet Michael, he did walk in front of me backstage, along with his brothers and I ended up sitting with the light & sound crew on top of a huge tower to watch the show. I remember the stage floor opened up and the magic began with the rising of Michael Jackson. I will never forget that evening.
Ironically, I had planned a trip to NY for the first time July 31st,(which was booked months ago), and I am making it a priority to visit the Apollo Theatre and write my name on the wall, to show how much I truly loved him and what he stood for. My heart breaks for his family and especially his children. MJ RIP...I will never forget!

In the early eighties Michael Jackson came to Toronto Canada to perform at the CNE stadium. I was 21 and Michael was 25. Off the wall had just been release and was of course the hottest album on the charts. We were 5th row from the stage. My sister and I were decked out in full Jackson gear, glitter glove, white socks and a black suite. I had no idea what to expect being so close to him but when he came out and looked into the crowd and smiled it was incredible. He emitted such a amazing presence. This may sound crazy but it was the strangest feeling I have ever felt. Almost god like. The energy he emitted was very strong and it felt like this was the only place on earth to be right at that moment. I am 47 now and still remember that feeling of love and greatness. I am truly grateful to have had that experience and am so sad that he is gone. Some have misunderstood him and the good force he was in the world but his true fans know in their hearts he was a man who cared about children and helping others. To his fans he was a king. I truly am sorry for his children and his family in the loss of their father, son and brother.
May he rest in peace in eternal bliss and may he inspire others to keep singing from their hearts. The world was not ready for you to go, but you are now free to be what you so needed on earth……. at peace!
    RIP Michael Jackson
Love you and will never forget

I was literally a baby when I fell in love with MJ's songs and performances in the 80s when my older siblings used to play them. Out of all of his songs, one particular song he wrote touched my heart and this is one of my favourite moment of him. The song is WE ARE THE WORLD "USA FOR AFRICA". Born and raised in Africa, this song really touched me knowing that a guy like MJ cared about the less fortunate especially in Africa that is poverty striken. I think he is the most humble, kind and caring person there can ever be. The day he died the world truly lost an extraordinary man that can never be replaced. My prayers are with his family especially his mother. GOD GIVES GOD TAKES. We'll miss you Michael.

Michael Jackson along with his brothers as well as other great musical artists of that era provided us who grew up in the late 1960,s, 1970ks abd ;'80's with the soundtrack of our development from high
school, college and even grad school. The world has lost a truly great one. I remember that I was privelege to see him perform at the first Cllinton inaugrual gala in 1993. His music on that occasion was concerned about the children of the world and their needs. He made a passionate plea with then incoming administration to remember children who are life's way of renewing itself. He will be truly missed but we sill always visit him in the museum of memories.

It was 1984, I was 11 and we were on the thruway to go see The Jackson's Victory Tour in Buffalo. Everytime we would come to a car with kids, they would signal to us that they too were on their way to see The Jacksons concert. One in paricular stood out to this day. A kid held up a little sign which read, beating it to the Michael Jackson concert.

It was 25 years ago, but I remember that day as if it was yesterday.

I remember in 1997 when my father came home with the latest Michael Jackson album, Blood on the dance floor, and when I saw that picture on the cover of the album I just cried. that's how beautiful he was, and that style and that looks of his. I could not wait to just hear the music and when I heard, I just couldn't believe that music like that could be made. Michael Jackson gave me a feeling that no other has ever given me. still to this day, he's my favorite.

I have two memories. One was when I was 8 years old and during a family gathering I remember my sister, one of my Aunts , a couple of my cousins as well as myself were dancing in the front room while listening to Rockin Robin while the the rest of the family watched on and enjoying the show.. That was a fun time for all of us.. And the second memory that I haved was when I was 15 and a sophmore in high school. I was in choir and for our spring concert that year we had decided to sing We Are The World .. We held auditions for the solo parts and I was awarded with one of them.. All of us put all that we had into singing that because it meant to much to us.. Afterwards we recieved a standing ovation and I ended up losing my voice ... Michael will be greatly missed and forever loved..

Clogging, a type of folk and social dance in the Appalachian Mountains, has its roots in dance from the British Isles, early African-American, and traditional Cherokee. The dancer’s shoe is used musically by striking the heel, toe, or both in unison against the floor to create audible percussive rhythms.

One such clogging team is Toe Jam Cloggers, a clogging performance team from Conyers, GA. Lora Garcia-Carerras, owner of “Clog at the Barn” which is home to Toe Jam Cloggers, wanting incorporate many different genres of music in the performances, from country to rock to Christian. One such song selection was Michael Jackson’s “Black or White”. Moved by the message, Lora correagraphed the dance steps to include hand and arm motions and ‘traveling’ the stage in various formations, clogging all the while. It is one of the most requested dance performances of the team.

Michael Jackson’s musical message was brought to those who would not normally listen to ‘rock’ or ‘pop’ music, but who would stop to watch a clogging performance at a local arts and crafts festival. Just one more way his music touched all.

My mother was an avid Jackson 5/Michael Jackson fan and growing up listening to his music naturally I was too! My favorite memory of Michael Jackson other than Thriller (of course) is Smooth Criminal. I remember watching the video and seeing him do the "lean" thinking "WOW HE IS MAGIC"! Michael's talent and tenacity will forever be honored and truly missed...the world has lost a true true genius to say the least.

I have two favorite MJ moments. My first was when I was 8yrs old living in L.A., I had a chance to go to one of his concerts at the Sports Arena. That was one of the best times since I was such a huge fan. My second moment was in 92' when I was in the 6th grade. When I got out of school for the day, my mothers friend picked me up from school and took me to my mom's job where she was the head nurse at Watts Health Foundation. I had no idea that Michael Jackson was there doing his Heal the World Project. I went into the immunization room so I can get my TB shot and Michael Jackson walked in with a sea of reporters. I was shaking his hand as I was getting my shot in the other arm. After the news reporters and photographers got all they needed I was able to talk to MJ. I told him that I went to one of his concerts and we talked for a while. When he got ready to leave, he patted me on the head and said "Stay Healthy". Everyone that was there (fans) were touching my hand and head because MJ shook my hand and patted me on the head. I will never forget that moment and always cherish it. There will never be another like him and he will be greatly missed. My prayers are with his family and I am thankful to have had the chance to see him in concert and meet him in person.

I grew up on the south side of Chicago, not far from Gary, Indiana. Before Michael and his brothers ever cut their first record I saw them perform in a talent show during 'Spring Break' that was sponsored by the " Impressions" at the Regal theater. The "Five Stair Steps" were also a part of that talent show. If memory serves me I believe it was in 1967 or 1968. I was totally shocked when Michael came on stage imitating "James Brown" and He also sang "who's loving You" He brought the house down. The shocking emotion that I felt when I first saw Him on stage was the same shocking and emotional felling that I experienced again when I heard that he had passed away. I feel like I lost a young family member! I will always think of him as the little boy that I saw on stage at the Regal Theater! I will miss Him!

My sister and I have been watching Michael Jackson from the very start of his career. We have many moments we love, like the way we use to gather at each other's house when he came out with a new video and just jump up and down screaming. We both have been crying for a week. We will always love him and his music. May he rest in peace.

My favorite MJ moment was when my son Ryan was almost 2. Ryan was born with Spina Bifida and didn't have the ability to stand or crawl. He LOVED Michael Jackson music. Ryan would sit on the floor with his rubbery legs crossed and kind of rock and bop to Michael's music. Back then we had stack types of stereos. Ryan's favorite song was "The way you make me feel" at that time. He would rock and bop and then holler... MOM... again. So I would come back into the room and start the song over and over for him.
One day I was in the kitchen and couldn't drop what I was doing when Ryan hollered his MOM.. again..... I hollered in a minute Ry.... Mommy is busy.... about 15 minutes later I hear the song start up...... I ran to the other room and teetering /hanging from my stereo was Ryan.... HUGE smile on his face..... he had pulled himself up (for the FIRST time BTW) to push the play button.
Ryan is now 23 years old. He walks OK, coaches adapted sports and works at the school where he graduated from in '06. Music still moves him ......... to this day.. when I hear "The way you make me feel" I picture a little boy with Spina Bifida, holding on for dear life, huge smile pasted on his face..... "standing" for the first time.... all because he HAD to hear his MJ song again....

We will miss the music Michael..... God Bless!

    Being In Love

I can't help being so in love
All I see is you everywhere I go
    All I think is you
All the time you're in my mind
And because I can't see then I just cry
I can't bear the the thought of you being so far
I truly love you so and I just don't know why
When we found each other, you said
"We will be together forever" (Ref0
Now I feel the curse that follows me everywhere
Loving you in a way no one can ever feel
Love in such a depth, I truly love you so
    Though you somehow remain distance
I feel we're close as breath of air,
no distance that separates us, we are involved,
We are together, with you, I can't help being in loved.

Michael, I love you and I feel your love in the air everywhere

I loved every moment of Micheal Jackson. He will and always be the greatest ever lived. He was fine fine fine......even when he changed his skin color I found that amazing. Makes you wonder how many other people have changed their true identity. Even "congressman Peter King. Who knows if he is really who he is hummmm....Micheal was making history in every way possible. At least we all knew he was Micheal Jackson.

i understand that Michael Jackson was a beloved pop star.
However, out real heros are fighting for our freedom in wars.
I am so saddened when the big story is Michael Jackson's memorial and the small update is 10 soldiers died in active fighting in Afganistan. 10 American families lost a true hero.
    My thoughts are with them.
    Thank you.

One of my Favorite michael Jackson moments was honestly everything he has done video wise and all the accomplishments he had in his life. His 30th Anniversary was a very special moment to because he reunited with his brothers and that was very special.I can remember when me my brother and my sister used to act like the jacksons after we will watch american dream. We had the drums the mic and the guiter and would sing and make up routines. Then watch there cartoon reruns cause i was burn in 1990 so i was very young but still was amazed by michael.watchin everything about him and listening to his music everyday til his death.Which at my age alot of people didnt believe

It's hard for me to pick one memorable Michael Jackson moment, Michael Jackson influenced so many people in different ways, with his music, dancing , videos, and humanitarian work. I remember as a kid wanting to be Michael Jackson. Through the years I've brought all the records, followed all the rumors and stories, but his death is the most memorable moment too me. We lost a great man. R.I.P MJ

Everything that had to do with Michael was a favorite moment!!! growing up I admired him. When I was younger, I used to go in my room and play his music, imitate is moves and pretend I was him and act like was preforming in front of a crowd. I recently just listened to "Will You Be There" off of his Dangerous album, and I cried through the song, because of the lyrics being expressed and what spoke in the end of the song. I will always remember and will never forget him. He has been my most favorite singer and entertainer, and I said before my IDOL!!!. Ive always been behind him and in support of everything that he has done and what he has been through. I will always be one of the BIGGEST fans the world could ever have to honor and love him. My heart and love go out to the Jackson family. He will be greatly missed. We love you Michael, an will always and forever be in our hearts!!!

Michael Jackson was a very big hearted man, he loved childern more than anyone ever did. All those false accutions that were made on him made his life even more worse and stressed and thats how he became addicted 2 painkillers, and thats why 2day he is not here with us. My moments 4 him are all his songs and i love him very much.
there will never be another Michael Jackson like him.......

I have two favorite memories of MJ.

I was in the 6th grade sleeping over at a friends house. Well, we decided to stay in her tree house, which was very nice for young people that we were back then, Of course we didn't have electricty, so we used candlles and flashlights. Already beening scared because of the darkness and her house being a bit far away THEN "Thriller" came over the radio FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!!! You've never seen such scared pre-teens but at the same time it was exhilerating. I fell in love with the song and will always hold that memory.

Of course the 2nd best memory was watching him win 8 emmys.

My favorite “MJ Moment,” would have to be waiting for the premiere of Michael and Janet’s duet “Scream.” I believe that I was around 10 years old, but I still remember how excited I was to see Michael and Janet Jackson perform together. After the video premiered I remember it being the topic of discussion at school for weeks. However, the anticipation of the music video was the greatest; sitting Indian-style on the floor glued to the TV; making sure I didn’t miss a minute of it. All of Michael Jackson’s music video premieres were a big occasion in during my childhood and COULDN’T be missed. I am forever a fan.

I followed Michael in his good times & bad because he was ( is ) a great entertainer. My favorite was the night Thriller was coming on tv.WE did not have a color tv at the time so I had to beg my mom to go to my friend house. Then came the Motown 25 performance of Billie Jean I was in a Wow ever since, then just when I thought that nothing else could be done,he Wowed me again. So to my fellow MJ fans we must let his music live on. RIP to a Genius. Michael J. Jackson

It's not what my favorite moment was, its more like how he changed pop Music and was the first to Make a 10 minute Music Video into a movie. To Plenty He Is a I-Con but To Music Dj's And Singers such as Usher, Justin Timber lake, Mariah Carey, the list goes on.. He's an Inspiration because In one way or other we Showed Some Love by Playing his Music Or using His Dance Steps and used his Music in remixes. Now Allot Of New Music these days are allot more recognized and and he was more recognized for the Allegations And Thatz Sad! Now that He's Gone Every body is Realizing how he changed the world and how big of an Impact to the world he was! He May Be Gone and Missed But His Music Will Live On Forever and will never Die! He Can Often Be Imitated But Never Duplicated!
Rest In Peace "I Hope You Put This On"!

I am especially hurt by the passing of Michaeal Jackson. I have been IN LOVE with him since I was 12 years old and I saw him on the Motwon 25 special. From that point on I had Michael Jackson everythng. I had posters on my wall from top to bottom and on the ceiling. I was going to marry him one day.

I AM HIS BIGGEST FAN!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

I have a great Michael Jackson story I would like to tell.

I got married in 2002 in Las Vegas, in fact it was September 14, 2002. It was a fight weekend there so there were a lot of celebrities there (De La Hoya fight). On the last day we were there we did our last minute sight seeing. The place went was the Ballagio Hotel. For some reason my husband was rushing me through the hotel. We left the hotel to catch a cab back to our hotel. While waiting for a cab a huge white either Hummer/Lincoln truck limo pulled up. The Valet said that was Michael Jackson. My husband and I both said "Yeah Right". When the doors to the limo opened up and when I saw Michael Jackson come out of that limo, my legs gave out and I fell on the concrete. All I remeber was some lady asking me "Are you alright"? I needed a minute to get me head together. My husband cursed me out because he was embarrassed. So when got my head together I got up and ran back into the hotel and I stood right in front of Michael Jackson and we brushed into each other. I never washed that shirt.

It was the best weekend of my life.. I married my soul mate and I got see the man I had been in love with all my life.

I think my favorite Michael Jackson moment was when he unveiled the moonwalk for the first time. My favorite album is Thriller and Off the Wall. I grew up listening to Jackson 5 on Saturday mornings. My parents were privileged enough to see them perform as children. To see Michael perform with such conviction as a child is nothing short of a gift. He was extremely talented- to have so much potential in one body is unbelievable.

It is unreal to me how everyone "now" has all these wonderful things to say about Michael, but where were these people before this very sad and tragic moment in history. I agree that Michael sent messages through his songs, he was a great humanitarian, and he had a love and a passion for the human race. I agree that there is nothing or no one in this world that will ever duplicate the talents of this man, but why have we not said these things to Michael in life. Why have those in key positions in the past years not paid tribute to the endless mark Michael has made while on this earth. Michael died thinking that the world saw him as a molestor and that the world saw him as a freak. Did he not deserve in "LIFE" to know that we are here holding him down and supporting him and loving him inspite of all the media and tabloid stories in an attempt to tear him down. This is a message to the world and to those who are in positions to make a difference, for those whom we love and adore, lets pay tribute to them in life, give them their flowers in life, let them know the impact they have made on the world and in the lives of people. I love you Michael. Peace be with you. You Will NEVER Be Forgotten. God bless the family, his children, and those who are true friends.

There are a lot of MJ moments to admire. I used to wake up every morning, listening to my sister dance and sing to his songs.
And MJ taught us how to love each other like real sisters. He taught us life long lessons. From this day forward, I love to hear his songs being played on the radio, and everytime i hear it, it made me think of the younger days. And hearing on June 25th about his death, made me so upset. I think it made a lot of people upset. He was an idol, even kids look up to him, not only for his songs, but for his dance moves. And MJ will definitely never be forgotten. His music will be in our souls til' the end of time. Though music may be dead to some of us without the King of Pop here, he's still in our hearts.

    Rest In Peace Michael Jackson!

My favorite moment of Micheal Jackson is when he song the song "Man in the Mirror "on American Music awards back in 1989 the way he performed on that stage with choir singing behind him he had me mesmorized how he was so deep and emotional in his music. The "video" had so much history footage in it everytime I see it I cry, from The Late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to the Late John and Robert Kennedys. To the little baby Jessica that was stuck in the well and all kind of historical events that took place all over the world. Micheal was always sending a message of Love.

hello! heidi , i cannot believe michael jackson is gone. i loved him soooo much. since i was a little girl watching his first intro on the ed sullivan show. he was amazing then, and never seized to amaze us ever since. everyone fell in love with him. is it possible to love someone you have never met ? yes. absolutely. how could you not ! i unfortunately, i never had the opportunity to meet him in person. but, if i cannot see him in alive and in person, then i dont care to see him after he has passed. i am so heart broken. i am so interested in all the news about him that i dont want to miss a thing but at times i force myself to turn off the tube so i can regain my composure. i am so saddened by it all. i wish his loved ones peace and comfort in knowing that we all share in their loss and sadness. micheal jackson is and will always be in our hearts and everywhere around us. he was one of a kind. i loved all his music and loved him unconditionally. michael jackson will ALWAYS be in my heart, and forever be loved. marie guzman from killeen, texas

I was in elementary school when "your rock my world" became my theme song. On the actual CD there's an introduction to the song, I remember my sister and I memorizing it, acting it out, then singing off-key and out loud, whenever it comes on the radio I get that flashback. He will be dearly missed.

I can virtually recall a Michael Jackson song for every pivotal moment in my life. Until his death, I had no idea what an impact he had on my life and I have been moved to tears everyday since June 25, 2009. Of course, as most fans, the moonwalk was out of this world at the time and remember the Motown 25th year celebration. The anticipation of the video Thriller was 2 days after my birthday and the showing of it on MTV was my birthday party with all of my friends. I was 18.

His sweetness, compassion and sensitivity was a part of him that I always recognized and hope that it can be carried on in everything that all of us do. Michael Jackson not only moved us with his music but with all the good he did for others all over the world. My heart aches for all the friends, family and eternal fans. Thank you Michael for making my life better in music and the lessons I learned from you in regards to helping others less fortunate than myself.

See you in the after life,

When I first came to the US as a graduate student, in the port of entry I felt so lonely that I wanted to return back to my country. But at that moment, I thought about Micheal and felt that I am not lonely and I am in the country where Micheal is. Ever since, every day I think about Micheal and say to myself that Micheal is in America and that helped me to get going. I miss him a lot and would miss him until the day I meet him again. I love you Micheal.

i was born on the 70's, and the first song i could remember that i really liked was "BEN". the lyrics was so simple and so touching to me, and i can even relate it in my life. But that didn't even stopped there because, every single album he makes are always remembered by everyone...from Thriller, Beat it, ...etc..and most esp the song "We are the are world" which he co-wirtes with Mr. Lionel RItchie...for that i could tell , he really is a ONE OF A GENUINE ARTIST that God has created. He will trully be missed by the whole world! ..i'm almost in tears everytime i hear his songs...We will trully missed him so much! We love you MJ...

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson's music. I remember the 1st airing of "Thriller" on MTV. I was 9 yrs old. My brother, boys, everyone practiced the moonwalk.
My favortie moment is the Motown 25th anniversarry singing "Billie Jean". I still remember siting in the living room mesmerized by his outfit, moves, and the moonwalk! It was magic, you never knew what he was going to do next.
I still can't believe he's gone. I will always remember him as someone who changed the world with his music. He will live on. I hope the younger and subsequent generations take notes from him-how can they not! My sons' are teenagers and are also mesmerized now watching "Thriller" and "Motown 25" on the net not to mention all his other great videos and interviews. They remember listening to his music growing up but didn't see him perform until now-to them it's listening to his songs for the 1st time; that's how great an entertainer and perfomer he was.
I love you Michael, I pray you are finally at peace. I pray for your children and family.

I'll never forget when Michael teamed with Paul McCartney on the duet "Say Say Say". During their time together, Paul advised Michael to always make sure he retained rights to his music. and he regretted not owning his music with the Beatles. Paul let Michael know his intentions to bid on the Beatles catalog at an upcoming aution. Michael took Paul's advice to heart and outbid Paul to purchase the Beatles catalog. This to me is Michael's defining moment. Way to treat a friend.

My favorite MJ moment was when he gave a surprise performance with NSYNC at the MTV VMAs. Even though he only danced, it was then I realized the full presence of his power. Being born in another country (Morocco-Africa), Michael Jackson inspired me to love music and most importantly he was the reason I wanted to learn english to understand his lyrics, he was my idol, even my mother who doesn't speak a word in english loved his music as well.I grew up listening to him with my older brother and dancing to his tunes. We will defenitly miss him .His memories and achievements will live with us forever.

Maybe someone could pass this message on to Soledad O'Brien: She hasn't been able to say enough how absolutely no one else in the whole world comes to mind when you think of influential people in music and pop culture to compare with Michael Jackson. Yes, indeed Michael Jackson did impact the world in a huge way, however, the artist named Prince comes to my mind as well as another artist named Madonna.

I think Soledad should make less comments regarding the rememberances of Michael Jackson during the pre-show of the Memorial Service. To make a comment that such greatness was given to "a little black kid" was inappropriate! I do not appreciate it and I don't want to hear anything she has to say!!!

I don't even know where to begin when I think of what Michael Jackson means to me. From my childhood and his appearance on Ed Sullivan, to the Jackson 5, to Billie Jean, to Thriller, to We Are The World, and his death...I am deeply saddened. I am so thankful that I lived and grew up with Michael and his music. His talent will never be matched. And his legacy will live on because my 3 children, who also grew up dancing to, and singing Michael's music, will continue to enjoy his amazing talents. We are truly fans, today and always.....Rest in peace, Michael. I hope you know just how special you were to my family, and to so many people around the world.

I have been spending the day watching the Michael Jackson coverage. Does Soledad have anything nice to say at all? She should not be covering this event if she has nothing nice to say about Michael...she talks about the cars, the casket, the Rolls, his face, the controversies, and on and on. Every comment borders on being representative of some stereotype that she has. The same was true of the Blacks in America program with the focus on the problems and none on the excellence in the Black community. This is not the day for her to be on TV.

Throughout MJJ's death, funeral and memorial, Don Lemon has demonstrated exceptional reporting. His kindness towards the family and MJJ is thoughtful, respectful, and appreciated. My very first concert, I believe it was in the early 1970s, was at the Mill Run Theater in Skokie, IL. The Jackson 5 performed. My dear mother took me. I will always treasure the memory of my mom with me seeing my favorite group then and my favorite singer today. I have and will always treasure that memory. In loving memory of my mom and michael jackson.

His SMILE!!!!!!! It was the cutest most sincere smile. Especially before the nasty accusations that were made by the money grubbing families that destroyed his true spirit.

It is so sad that it took Michaels death to show how important he is to all of us billions on earth. I hope truly that he is witnessing this tribute right now!! He has been severely unappreciated for the last 10 years and it's about time we all look at Michaels amazing accomplishments. Accomplishments not just in music but in humanitarian issues.

All Michael ever owed us was great music when we bought his albums and/or concert tickets. He gave us so much more!!! I am glad that the people and fans who turned their backs on him are now finally reminded of all he gave to this world.

You are the King and I really hope you are finally in true peace.

    Always a fan

I will never forget being on stage with Michael Jackson. It was during his 1993 Dangerous world tour in Taiwan and I was 7 years old. I joined an after school youth program at my school. Our team won the chance to perform Heal the World with Michael Jackson at his concert.
I remembered standing a few feet away from him and kept looking at him.

His music will live on forever! We love you and miss you Michael Jackson, King of Pop.

I still can't believe it. It has been almost 2 weeks since he passed and my heart is heavy with sadness. I have cried everyday. My earliest childhood memories are of Michael Jackson and his music. I went to see the Victory Tour when I was 7 and at that time it was the greatest moment of my life. I has a special outfit and hot pink shoes with socks that looked like something he might wear. What stands out about that night was that at one point in the show Michael brought disabled children up on stage to join in. I still remember the smiles on their faces. It has stayed with me for 26 years. Anytime I hear one of his songs it instantly makes me happy and takes me back. I am forever grateful that he made my life better and made me a better and more empathetic person through his music, kindness & generous spirit. I love that I can pass that on to my son and that he too can grow up listening to Michael's music. I hope Michael can rest in peace knowing the joy he has brought to the world and the positive impact he had. I am so truly sad and sorry for all the pain he has had to endure throughout his short life. He never deserved a moment of it. I know in my heart what a kind and loving man he was. I want to believe that he can see this outpouring of public love & support since his passing and I pray that it heals his soul. My heart goes out to his children and his family. I wish them peace. I Love You Forever Michael.

    In Memory of Michael Jackson

    The angles are singing
    the music of his Holiness
    Now playing and sounding
    for all to hear
    Hearts honoring the beauty
and the elegance for the World to see.
    O! hear the angles sings
The exquisite soundings of music with melodies
and rhythms that breaks the darkness night,
    The world awaits
    All waking with excitement,
Celebrating and Marking the beginning of Peace,
    Happiness and Freedom reign.
Chaos, violence, wars and all that depletes the world must now

Michael, has always wanted Peace on Earth...
Wanted hunger to disappear, violence, war, abuse , etc.

WOW! He remained that sweet kid over the years.

We love all of Michael, he was a part of us, our twin daughters who would dance to "Bad" not even 24 months old, we still watch on video tape. It gives us a very heavy heart, but it helps now to know that Michael is now with his Eternal Father our Lord, and his heart lifted of all pain and loneliness. He will forever now be a child with God. Be at peace Michael, we love you!!!

My first Michael Jackson memory would be listening to the Jackson Five while watching the saturday morning cartoon. I was in fifth grade at the time. I can't tell you how happy that made me and my brother, and the fact that Michael Jackson was a little kid like us and was in a musical group with his older brothers made it even more exciting for us, me and my younger brother.

When I was a little older, I remember my parents listening to an interview with Michael Jackson and being incredibly impressed with him. They loved him as an very accomplished artist.

Amazingly, eventhough I wasn't following Michael Jackson that closely in the 80's I managed to see the videos for Thriller, Beat it, Billy Jean, and Bad. Kind of required viewing.

An amazing voice, soaring, penetrating, gentle, totally rocking.

People wonder how something like Michael Jackson's death could effect someone so deeply. My question is how could it not? Most of us grew up on Mike. Seriously. How many of us tried to moonwalk? How many of us bought the Thriller jackets? How many of us tried to do the no gravity lean from Smooth Criminal? I mean come on! I remember when he came to St. Louis and only had to shows at the Checkerdome. My daddy stood in rain for HOURS!!!! One show ended up being canceled, but the one he got tickets for was not. My sisters & my dad all got to see him DO HIS THING, and he did it so well. That is to this day THE BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!! SO thank you daddy for making that possible for us, cause we begged for those tickets...lmao! All I'm saying is no matter ... Read Morewhat flaws he had,and yes we all have flaws, he was first and foremost someones Son, brother, father, uncle, grandson. He is still THE GREATEST entertainer of all time and was a GREAT humanitarian. So Michael has obtained in death, the peace he could not obtain in life. My prayers go out to his family & friends, and I hope that God gives them the peace & strength they need to get through the loss of their loved one. Much Love & Respect Michael Joseph Jackson. Your music will forever live on & serve as a reminder to all of these up and comers what it takes to TRULY be a LEGEND!!

My favorite memories of Michael Jackson came from, of course, television. People of my generation growing up in the 60's & 70's remember watching Michael and his brothers performing and growing up before our eyes. Whether it was Ed Sullivan, Laugh-In, American Bandstand, Sonny & Cher or Soul Train, we will always remember Michael Jackson for the true performer that he was and the great man he became. God Bless You, Michael.

I think his music will last forever and nobody will forget him.

    To Micheal Jackson
    love is
If i speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don,t love, I,m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If speak God,s word with power revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if i have faith that says to a mountain Jump," and it jumps, but i don,t have love, I,m nothing If i give everything i own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don,t love, I,ve gotten nowhere, So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I,m bankrupt without love

I am a bit upset towards the fact that his funeral became a circus. There are people speaking, such as the congress women from Texas, who has no business to be there. Her statement about the " America constitution" in referring to MJ child abuse cases, will hurt her, big time!

As far as all the " Jesus" calling.... and the African-American "funeral services style", do not have place in MJ funeral services. MJ was all about diversity. Further more, MJ was a sympathizer of Islam and Buddhism. I wish MJ had a written statement in place about how he would like his funeral services to be. MJ was an amaizing artist and he deserves a funeral as reflective of who he was.

I loved so many of Michael Jackson's and the Jackson 5's songs....They were songs one could really hear the lyrics and the melodies were so nice.

I really loved Michael's 'Thriller' recordings and it reminded me of my son (who is now 33) dressing in his little red jacket and silver glove and performing the moon walk for the family. I also loved 'We are the World' when both my son and daughter (now 30) would perform this song for the family.

I commend CNN for the wonderful coverage and I want to thank the family for sharing this memorable service with all of us. Our prayers are with the family and I hope that the artist's work and legacy to do something to make the world a better place.

God's peace be with the family.

I watched, and don't know why, until sharpton came on, and as usual, went over the top with his 'sermon'...brooke was touching ('cough') jackson was the ONLY entertainer in the world....give me a break....he was a suspected pedophile who tried to make himself WHITE....what does that tell you? I grew up listerning to Michael Jackson, I was 9 years old when the Jackson 5 started, at the age of 12, I use to tell my friends I was gonna Marry Michael Jackson when I got older. All the years that have gone by, I listen to his music always, when my son Joe was born back in 1979, I always had Michaels music playing, my son loved to hear it all the time. At the age of 2 years old, we went to California to visit family and wanted to meet Michale Jackson, but of corse that never happened. Once back in NY, the music still palyed in my home all the time, finally in 1984, Michael Jackson was on His Victory Tour and my 5 years son went nuts, I got the tickets for him to go to MSG in New York City, I have pictures of my son dressed just like Michael Jackson, and as I dressed him I cryed the whole time, he was getting to see the young man I loved all my life, I couldnt take him to the Concert, due to my Fathers illness, so my brother and his wife took him for me, I never knew a boy so young could like my idol as much as I did. He had the time of his life, he came home after the concert and didnt sleep, he put the record on and showed me how Michael was dancing till 3 am, I watched my 5 year old son try to do the Moonwalk. I must say , there will never be another like Michael Jackson, he is one of a kind, he was a God Sent to the world.
I sat here today and watched the Memorial and I havent stop crying since. I want to thank the Jackson Family for such a wonderful young man, they blessed us with for the past 45 years.

Sincerely Yours Ethel Diorio, Brooklyn NY

My favorite MJ moment was in 1986 when legendary filmmakers George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola collaborated with MJ for a Disneyland 3-D movie attraction called "Captain EO". It was truly a site to see Michael Jackson on the big screen in 3-D doing what he did best and that's to entertain and change the world at the same time. As a young girl I remember being at my best friends waiting to watch the Jackson 5 and thinking back what happy times that was. Michael truly touched the lives of the world, I sat in my living room watching the memorial with both smiles and tears. As a mother, my heart goes to his children and his entire family. In closing my son held my hand while I had my other hand on the head of my sleeping daughter, (who will be a child forever due to disabilities) and my son had tears as the final prayer was said. Thank you to the Jackson family for allowing all of us to share in Michael's life and in his death. May God Bless the World!

"Never can say goodbye" Micheal. Thanks for my first dance. The song was "ABC easy as 123." I was 7 years old then. Although I was deeply in love with Marlon, your picture was "painted on the wall" in my room. Thank you for happy happy childhood memories. I am one of your many original early era fans. You are a legacy that will live on forever. I choose to celebrate your life. Like Bob Marley, your songs speak volumes. They are not only songs, they are filled with advice and wisdom. It is so easy to love and complicated to hate. Because of you Micheal, many of us are going to honor your wishes. We will love. We will be kind to each other. We will be forgiving. We will not condem until proven guilty. We will do a good deed everyday. Most of all we will take care of the children of the world. Your children know you wil be watching over them. Your family is outstanding. Now you have the honor of speaking to the real man in the mirror..............God. It's comforting to know you are now at peace. Debbie Jolly, Orlando Florida.

There is a Michael Jackson song for every pivotal moment in my life but I suppose the most memorable, like everyone, was the moon walk to Billy Jean at the Motown 25th Anniversary. Also, my18th birthday was 2 days before the release of the Thriller video release. I waited for the 2 days and we made it my birthday party and played the Thriller and Off The Wall albums all night. MJ's music helped me through many awkward times as a teenager and young adult. His music healed my pain, gave me strength and also something in common with my piers to talk about. Back them, he was everything, not just in music. Everybody was talking about Michael Jackson.

Until June 25, 2009, I never realized how much MJ was a part of my life. I have been shedding tears ever since. I always loved his music but as I got older, life took over. But always, his sweet sweet smile with that innocent sparkle in his eyes. I will never forget that. It's what made all of us girls, black and white, fall completely in love with him.

Michael, I am so sorry to see you go so soon. I know your upcoming concert tour would have been even more amazing than the past. I am so sorry that you had to endure so much pain and loneliness as a result of your fame and some extremely cruel media. I hope that now, you have found peace. My heart to your mother, your children, all of your siblings and true die hard fans that never turned their backs on you.

I never turned by back on you and will never forget you and all you have done for me!!!!!!!!

This memorial definitely brought me some kind of closure. To michael's kids, u are all adorable, be strong and may the lord be with you all.

This memorial will never be forgotten! From the opening statements, to 11 year old Paris saying her thoughts about and to her father!!! Paris is very brave and everyone should be as brave as she was today!!! Michael will never be forgotten. His music and dancing will live on forever! Today 7/7/09, will be a day in history. The most touching part about the memorial, is when Paris talked. I got tears in my eyes when she talked. That moment will never be forgotten. Michael we all love you!!! Live out!
Keep being brave Jackson kids. Prince, Paris, and Blanket!

The first song I remember was Ben, I thought that was beautiful. He was a wonderful singer, dancer and all around entertainer. I was born two years before him so I feel like I grew up with him. May he R.I.P

I watched the memorial service on TV with my 6yr old grandson Micheal, he asked a lot of questions about Micheal Jackson. Like where is he, how did he die, why did he die, will we see him again?
I told him that God wanted him back, his time was up. He is sleeping in the armes of God, and he will always live in his music and in our hearths.
The memeorial service was great, it couldn't have been any better, it was fit for a King. I thank God for the gift that he gave us though MJ.
I would love to have a copy of the memorial service. May the sell of the service could help others in some way, like Micheal did in his life time.

Thank you to ev1 leaving your memories~_ they are so good to hear at this sorrowful time in all our lives....I grew up in southeast Detroit and was born in 1963...we had many racial riots during the 60's in Detroit...I was a little white girl with big blue eyes and blond hair
My Dad loved music and I grew up listening to everything from Elvis, James Brown Motown ZZ Top J Geils BB King and yes the Jackson 5 LOL
While all my other girlfriends had Donny Osmond or which ever teen idol was in Tiger Beat mag on their bedroom walls..Me haha I had the Jackson 5 OH YeAh and my Dad was totally down with it all Thank You Daddy I Love you and I miss you ! Thanks for being a supportive Father, for allowing me to be "ME" and to express myself musically the way I wanted to!
You see the Jackson 5 and Michael gave me more than just good music...they broke racial tensions between people
I owe relationships and a well rounded childhood to the entire Jackson Family! Words cannot alone express what the music and what Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 did for me as a white blond blue eyed child growing up in Detroit! My Heart and Love go out to the entire Jackson Family and Michaels children.....Prince Michael I, Prince Michael II and Paris you are the purest, most Loved thing that your Father had and I pray, as the world is praying for all 3 of you...May our Heavenly Father, Allah, God comfort you.....May you find the strength to carry on and may God shelter you...We Are the World and We Love YOU!!

Micheal will be missed greatly. I remember when Micheal Jackson came to Chicago's White Sox stadium, although I was very young I begged for my mom stop the car on the side of the freeway, since I could not be at that concert. I really believed I would one day get to a live concert with Micheal.
But now that this will never happen, I would love for any TV network to Air the 30th year Anniversary of Micheal Jackson and his brothers again. This would truly mean so much to me.
    Love you

I would greatly appreciate if the TV networks would Air the 30th Year Anniversary Show of Micheal and his brothers. To know a life like his, is to see what gifts the universe can conceive
Jewels of precious value the greatest of one's wildest dreams
Those things we never imagined until seen and understand what it means
People so talented, they can touch others whether be with a song or dance
Inspiration, hope, influence blatant evidence of divine circumstance
What a blessing to bestow on a world so thoughtless that can be so cruel
His life so extreme and to think it's the same world that created this to be true
Someone so unique we can't even phathom his existance
So different, so the same, so much more than one could know
If ever to remember a time this was a time to know
Thank you Mr MJ for such a rememberable SHOW!

a star of this caliber will probably take infinity to come back to this world again.– i wish sharpton,s speech like this came in before his death to clear so much bad public views that media made about many people dont even think as to what it takes for a child to leave his childhood and come upto people,s expectations with his unique talent.if he tried to live his childhood-by creating neverland- people distorted his image, became greedy and took advantage of his money with probably false allegations of childhood molestations. he probably wanted to relive his childhood which some people didnot let him live. so sad that people who make them stars dont let them enjoy the stardom and fame ,once they are stars–it is once in a lifetime that GOD creates such human being of this magnitude and a life was gone too soon .he will be missed for ever- and am sure he is now peaceful in his sleep for ever–deepak kapur–p.s. i hope my comments are posted because they are coming from my heart and soul for this rare gem

Shame on you cnn, You just had to make a decent down to earth memorial to M.J. a bit tarnished by showing the background picture of M.j. with the captions of the charges of child molestation on Ac360.

My favorite Michael Jackson moment was watching him and his brothers on Ed Sullivan. I was 8 and in those days there were not any Black boys on TV. It was truly a wonderful moment that I will never forget. He was my first love and today I said goodbye. I cried from the beginning to the end and I'm still upset. The only peace I have is to BELIEVE he is in a better place.

I would like to say I grew up on the Jackson 5's, my favorite when I was younger was the song ABC's we song that song so much, on the play ground, in front family members gathering. Michael touch all ours heart, the evening he died my family members all gather on phone, text, and on internet it was a unbelieve moment that touch us all then and will forever touch us because the love we share with Michael and him family. He will live forever in ours heart, because all the memories and love he brought to the world. It hurt so much that I cry and thought of my brother who was also taking away too soon at age 30 with luekemia, then 5 years later my Mother was taking away with Heart Disease, so understanding the pain of lost one I feel it even now with Michael Jackson.
I would like to recommend 25 June be name Michael Jackson Day the King of Pop. It is also the day my oldest newphew Carlos turn 23th year old. My family and I would like to sent ours love and deep sympathy during this difficult time to the Jackson family. Ours thoughts are with you right now, may they help you get through this tough time. Love always, the Davis's

Some of the sweetist memories of my life. i am 60 and at the time
mother of 3 boys ages 1,5,6 at the time. They would dress up and
pull their aunt in and do performances of the Jackson 5 for us and
their grandparents in our backyard. You never saw three boys take
their baths so fast. i would say, "the Jacksons are on in 30 mins."
and before you knew it the sound of footed jams swosh swoshing
up the hall and the plops on pillows in front of the living room TV.
The Jacksons and Michael have been a part of my family"s lives
for all the years they have been here. Michael was a gift to all
of us I pray for his children and family. We are all so thankful for
all that was given to all of us. We will never forget.

Has the world really gone bonkers? The excessive coverage of his death is an insult to all of the people that have contributed toward improving mankind for a better life and the many that have paid the ultimate price to do so. Entertainment is entertainment and this is what all the hype is about. This is nothing but a perpetual means for the profit takers of his estate.

    Mr. Michael Joseph Jackson

    A beautiful Soul
    You mesmerized me
    With your music
    You left us in Awe
    When you danced
    You alone was phenomenal
    Paving the way
    For many others
    All along the way
    You Are Not Alone
    For Jesus has met
    You their in Heaven
    To sing your
    Last and Final song
    For your legacy
    Will live on
    For many years to come
    May you continue
    To lay down tracks
    May you continue
    To dance
    Our refuge is that
    We Loved You
    But God Loved YOu Best...

My favorite MJ moment? When all this media frenzy finally stops. Yes he was 1 of the greater entertainments but let us not forget that he also paid off a family to avoid legal actions. Yes I know the second time he got cleared, but just think about it, if you are not guilty, why pay millions of dollars to make such a serious allegation go away. I feel sorry for his kids, their lifes will even harder then his own was, because of all that he has done in his life, good and bad. Report on current events, like our soldiers dying in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. By the way, how much of ad revenues CNN received during this glorification of MJ was donated to law enforcement so we (the tax-payers) won't have to pay for your free content.

I was 24. I was standing in the living room of a battered women's shelter, pregnant, with my two year old daughter on my hip. Video's came in through a vh channel 66 at the time in Phoenix. I had to get to a support group but instead I stood transfixed watching the release of We Are The World. My daughter lifted her finger and wiped a tear from my cheek and asked 'What wrong Mommy?" I replied that nothing was wrong, we were very lucky people, these were happy tears.

That moment is forever transfixed in my mind, as the video allowed me to step away from what I percieved to be a horrible life. I had a beautiful life full of opportunity. I just could not see past the trama of the moment and the situation we were in. Michael allowed me that freedom of vision, his vision gave me perspective.

Slaves worked 12-hour days six days a week on the capital building.

I will work again – 40 hours in a public setting. I'm not another's means to the middle class life, a female who can be clubbed over the head and forced to do the bidding of another – make another's life work. Club my male ex over the head and throw him into your families proverbial cave – your kitchen.

If it ain't my family I don't clean it. If it ain't my family I don't cook.

    Got that?

My most memorable moment at the Michael Jackson service was when Jennifer Hudson was singing at the end when you hear Michael 's voice speaking and the hurt in his voice when he recorded the song Will You Be There

In the darkest hour in my deepest despair will you be there
It was so heart wrenching you could feel his pain
    I was in tears
The words continue to reach my heart How sad his live was as he was living it.
The producer who created this service did an awesome job when he put this song as part of the service. I started watching your coveage since noon est

OK., when he was young I thought he was one cute ,talented kid. Then the changes in his appearance as well as his vulger attitude was disgusting. You just can't make a NORMAL WHITE WOMAN out of a black man. Now, with our brave young men and women fighting for this country, all I saw on TV was one sorry mess. Good lord, what is wrong with the people in this country? I just turned the MESS off.

I'd been a christian for a while and not watching secular music. One day I decided to watch MTV and see what modern music was like. I saw Michael's video Billie Jean for the first time. I just fell in love with him all over again, like the first time I saw the Jackson 5 on the Ed
Sullivan show. I have never forgotten that purple vest and hat he wore! They were great and Michael just stood out, and always did. To his dying day! After Billie Jean I continued to follow him. His singing and dancing and video producing were majic! Love you Michael forever!

I'm going to take this time to look back at my hero, not a man among men, but a manwho stood boldly above men. Not a child molester, but a man who went to the end's of the earth to help a child in need. Not a freak, but a man who was different, maybe even strange, atleast in the worlds eyes. Strange is a definition that remains rooted in the eye of the beholder, and if that is what strange is percieved to be, than i would love to be known as strange. I would like to thake this time to look back at a man who made a difference, m man who's wish was to heal the world, and a man who in my eyes, saw the bigger picture, but was corrupted by cowards, his heart and the love that he sent out, people twisted, tore, and shawdowed. People turned him into something that we would of never dreamt of becoming, if anything it was his worst nightmare. It sickens me to think that the world could, and did tear apart such a kind soul. I have a deep admiration for his relilliance, for he had more pain forced upon him than any human being should ever have to deal with in a life time. I have a deep admirationfor his attempts to move on and for his continuing to help better the world, and for never giving up faith in the world, and the goodness that it is capable of beholding. I am hoping that this mans death will allow the world to rise to a number of realizations. I hope that they will see in him what i see in him and i hope they will take what i got from his life. Inspiration, joy, caring, amazement, a sense of freedom and a sense of endless creativity and possiblities. I hope that the shadow of this mans life will cast upon them what it will forever cast upon me, a reminder to never give up, a reminder to never lose faith when the world has turned cold, a reminder to see the best in everyone and everthing, a reminder to never lose touch with my inner child, to never lose touch with my creativity and a reminder to never forget the importance of kindness, and a reminder to just smile. When i looked at this man i see something so pure, yet throughout the last years of his life i saw pain, the world and the people , in which he gave his all to, had sucked the very life out of him. I pray that the world will now see what a gift he was, and that we had him. He was not only a gift to the world of music, but he was a gift to the world as a whole.

I love you Michael Jackson, your spirit will forever remain a part of me. I will never forget the things you allowed me to believe and open my mind to, i will never forget the impact your music has made on my life.
To a true legend whom i wish i had the honors of meeting.
To a man full of dignity and undeniable courage.
To a man who faced the cruel world with love no matter the situation.
    To my hero, Michael Jackson.

Are any of you people going to bail out the city of L.A. for the 4 million it spent on the MJ memorial? I am glad I do not live anywhere around the L.A. area and have my tax dollars wasted in this manner.
