The structure of fees for service in our current system incentivizes procedures and specialties, not consultation and prevention. HMOs, based on the idea of keeping its insureds healthy have not worked, because the fee system is still unreformed.
What is in the bills being considered in Congress that take this question into consideration?

What is wrong with people? I am 65 years old and had to retire when my husband became ill with cancer. I had BCBS through work-went on cobra(at $800 a month) -which I could barely afford-and now have medicare and a supplemental through ARRP and United Healthcare.
My biggest worry and my husband is my son who is self employed as a carpet cleaner and cannot afford any insurance at all.
There has to be a public Option and the sooner the better. As I see it-Healthcare reform would not cost anymore than the wars in Iraq and afganistan. Why is congress so quick to pay for wars to take lives and so against a bill that would save lives?
