You sent us your Summer photos to iReport.com, and here they are!
The new weather map screen technology is really cool. However it is difficult to watch whilr presenters are trying to open, resize, move around the screens. They do not have much time to say a lot, the screen seems to ber a burden and distraction to them. Please go back to pushing buttons to advance the maps.
Consultation with Tom Daschle?!? He's a lobbyist now!!! Isn't this clearly breaking Obama's promise that lobbyists will have no access to the White House?
About Tom Daschle...they call him a "special policy advisor" at the lobbying firm, Alston & Bird. So, this gives him access to the President when he promised no access to lobbyists? Gee, it's real nice Obama is playing with semantics just like Bush 43 did.
And Tom Daschle is selling his "expertise" to UnitedHealth insurance behemoth, which opposes the public plan!
My ultimate summer song is "Summertime" by Will Smith featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff from the album Homebase.
Two of my favorite songs this summer are "Groovin" by the Rascals, and "Strawberry Letter 23". Would love to hear these oldies but goodies.
(Georgia by Ray Charles is also a summer favorite)
All the best to you.
Health care reform is overlooking the millions of military retirees that
attain the age 65 and are forced to accept medicare part B if they want to keep their better TRICARE insurance. Retired military were promised lifetime health care at no cost. However, in the 1990's DOD
balked when they determined that there was no law requiring them to provide healthcare for retirees. Unlike CHAMPUS, DOD implemented TRICARE in 1997 that required retirees to pay fees/premiums when cover was supposed to be no cost. They kept the CHAMPUS rule/law that required you to convert to medicare parts A&B once you reached 65 and pay the part B premium. A retiree can keep the better coverage TRICARE only if they enroll in Medicare also. Basically pay double to have two insurance coverages. This is unfair for people that gave 20 years and more of their lives serving our country. The law should be changed to have the option of one or the other.
My song of the Summer has to be Poker Face by Lady Gaga -I’ll always remember my partner Randy and my trip to Vegas and that song playing constantly as we walked through the casinos.
Doug from Brooklyn NY
Summer song for me was by Mos Def called "Twilite Speedball". Been on my post grad grind looking for jobs and every time I would hear this I was "feeling good, felling great"
