Molester to Minister

Mark Hourigan is a registered sex offender who wants to become a minister. A pastor at a church in Louisville, Kentucky, is willing to give Hourigan that opportunity, but not everyone in the congregation is quite so forgiving. Both Hourigan and the pastor spoke with CNN’s Richard Lui about the controversy, about second chances, and about assurances the congregation – especially children – won’t become victims.

Why doesn't CNN report on the Acorn story where the Acorn advisors offer ideas and solutions for setting up a prostitution ring...using 13 year old illegals from another country. What is wrong with the media in this country??

I think the child molester who is trying to become a minister is a bad idea. Becoming a man of the cloth won't help him control his sick urges just ask some the Catholic priests who are in jail now.

The church should be ashamed for changing the meaning of words around in the Bible to fit the twisted ways of modern society.

It's amazing how criminals can use the "God angle" to get out of jail and say they are ready to be in society again. God "cured" them. LOL
Don't trust your kids around them...ever. Once they think they're not being watched they'll be up to their old sick habits.

Just because you thump a bible doesn't make you intelligent or moral.
Most have no clue about the true meaning of the bible anyway.
They just listen to preachers like the one that want the President dead.
    How sick is that?
These "weekend warriors" are clueless. Hate is a lifestyle AND a hobby. Such a "full life".

But you'll see all this on the 'Jerry Springer Show' I'm sure....

The Minister has made a bad name for him self. Even if he repented and prayed to God that he will never do what he did in the pass; still the name Molester stand out. Two the Minister. Only God can forgive. Being a Minister will not give you a good name nor make people like or love you. Only God can give you what you are looking for. Being a Minister is going to make thing worst for you. Try pleasing God doing something else.

perverts can not be rehabed. They need to spend the rest of their live in prison. And this is true of those of any age. I can't believe the church hasn't started looking for a replacement reverand. Other perverts will probably want to join the church now that the door is open.

If it is okay for a congressman to call our President Obama a liar, is it okay for my child to call a teacher a liar and apologize and everything will be okay?

Hello Don, I am an American teacher in Columbia SC. I was a journalist in France. I watched your program sunday and you had 2 guests. One of them David, was trying to explain that one of the main reason conservatives are out there against President Obama is just because those people are racists. They dont accept a black African-American as a president. It is a fact and it is cristal clear. Why not saying it as it is? Last wednesday, with Joe Wilson we had another act of disrespect that in fact was another manifestation of racism. Same situation with a so called pastor Steven Anderson I might be wrong but the impression I have is that even the journalist are kind of afraid to say things as they are.

Don Lemon clearly does not present himself in a nuetral way on the political stories connected with the President, past or present. He clearly is biased in favor of Obama and didn't deliver his stories on Bush with the same vigor. I am a Democrat that was not a follower of Bush but as a consumer I am able to muddle through the truth and keep my head about the facts. As a reporter he needs to try a little harder to do the same. He wouldn't lose the conservative viewer and Moderates like me wouldn't wonder what is not being presented honestly, or feel like I need to go another news media to see if there something I need to find out. I look to CNN for clear concise factual news without the biased.

This doesn't shock me at all. This is what I expect out of a religious orginization. This country was founded on christianity. Which was stealing, lieing, rape, and inslaving. What else do people expect? They use to keep it hush, hush but now its all coming to the light.

God is definately more forgiving than man. I can't honestly say that I would feel comfortable having my children around this man, however if God can forgive him we must also. That doesn't mean that I would run out and join his church but in order to be forgiven one must forgive. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Did you ever think that the Pastor may be a "Sex Offender" also. How do you think a lot of these laws are passed, because in the office is that type of individual.

Oh! Keep playing with the Bible. Retribution, is hell. You can get it to fit the wicked mines or you can use it for righteous minds. Discern, is the key. From one Scripture that is true, you have the rest of the Bible to put it in place. Ex: Homosexuals continue to say, "God loves us so should you. True. However, God loves all sinners, but, you have to pay for the debts of your sins and the "Wages of sin is death."

We are all sinners, correct. We cannot throw a stone, correct. All our sins are on us. The Bible is only calling our attention to it. It is like a mirror, the mirror cannot fix the problem but, it can show you what is wrong so that you can fix it. Our fore fathers wrote the Constitution under the Bible and the Ten Commandments, why? God was noted as the perfect being.

They knew they could not write the Constitution under themselves because they were a wicked people. But, they wrote it with God as the head. With God at the head we would always have the right before us whether we abided by it or not. Again, how do you think that a wicked people could write a Constitution that they themselves could not adhere to?
