Rush & The NFL

He's one of the most controversial voices in America and now he wants to be part of an American tradition. Rush Limbaugh announced last week that he's partnering in a bid to buy the NFL's Saint Louis Rams.

Critics want to block the sale and some players have already come forward saying they would not play for a team owned by the conservative radio host. Rev. Al Sharpton says Limbaugh is divisive, anti-NFL and his racially charged comments about African American players should make the NFL think twice.

In 2003 the radio host resigned from ESPN’s NFL pregame show after saying Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.

Limbaugh has denied he is racist. He says, "I believe in freedom and I also don't discriminate."

So what do you think? Should Limbaugh’s past comments be a factor in his bid for the NFL team?
Leave us a comment. We’ll share some of them on air in the CNN Newsroom, 11a — 1pm ET
