Body Language Betrays Balloon 'Hoax'

Countless people had been skeptical from the outset of the runaway balloon saga. Even before the sheriff in Larimer Co., Colo., determined it was an alleged hoax, a professional body-language analyst explained to CNN's Don Lemon the numerous "hot spots" that signaled a probable deception.

These reality shows, many produced by TLC, are creating a real problem in this country. Now, narcissistic parents that want to be seen on TV will be producing publicity stunts and possibly endangering their children in the process. This is an excellent example of this growing trend.

(( We Must put a STOP to all reality shows involving children ))

Any network producing such shows will be sued for promoting child endangerment!

I asked my students how can a boy who can't sit still in front of the TV while in his father's lap stay hidden inside a box in the attic. Answer:
Maybe he was drugged. I was glad when I heard that Protective Services was looking into the matter. My first reaction when the boy was found was to give this boy community service. After I saw this little boy, I thought that maybe the community service should be given to both parents. Jail time would not be so harsh for the father. I believe the father is the instigator and the wife and children just follow this attention getter con artist. The newspaper said that the balloon could be used to put on to of the garage to commute to work? Oh, please! And what if this ballon was sucked up an airplane engine then what?

Richard Heene is obviously unstable, and is DHS not concerned that he might do something crazy, esp. given possible domestic abuse in past? It's my hope that the kids are quickly separated from these parents, as unfortunate as the whole situation is.

What I would like to know that when CNN states specifically that it was a "HOAX" and that the media "sensationalized" the coverage, and that the parents duped the media and the law enforcement, the WHY are you people still talking of this? You are giving and feeding right in to what these people wanted in the first place.

Think about it. If you report, though they say they "are in it for the publicity", then you are no better than they are. Your teaching them that this is a "great opportunity" and they actually have to do nothing but sit in their home and they get what they set out to get, "notarization"!

Hats off to Wolf Blitzer for his great reporting on the Balloon boy story. Seems he was doing his own investigation. Good Job.

I think especially father of the "balloon boy" should be punished, but not put to prison. Psychological check and serious treatment for all family. I feel bad for boys.

I hope that the parts involve on this discussion will consider the damage they incur for the future. I would never expose myself to any interviews from any media company if I am going to be scrutinized this way. In many examples how are going to trust anyone.

The child's body language indicates he was Mentally Abused by Sheriff Jim and his deputy's during the time he was whisked away from his parents to be privately questioned by Sheriff Jim.

Authority figures wearing a badge and a handgun can and often do put a tremendous amount of pressure on a child to make false or misleading statements about the actions of their parents.

Look at Sheriff Jim's body language while he is on the media stand crowing about how he single handedly solved the case, he is the true villain here.

Yes, Wolf can interview a child vigorously. But isn't is a bit of class discrimination against a poor and powerless family to use "body language" experts to interpret reality for the viewer when the body language experts [if they are experts] are not used to interpret political figures during interviews? It is of no worldwide significance if the Heenes are lying compared to whether Dick Cheney or his affirmative action hire daughter is lying. But CNN doesn't take on the powerful the same way it takes on the powerless.

This man that initiated this fraud upon the AMerican people by using the media is an atrosity.
He should be ashamed of himself for putting his family through all of this.
The entire family should receive counceling and THE FATHER AND MOTHER should be given a bill for the cost to initiate the police investigation and should also be liable for any other costs and fees associated with the fraud that they perpetuated.

I don't understand why they don't put this scumbag in jail and deport his wife(?) to Japan. The children would surely be better off in foster care than with this sleazy hustler!
