CNN's Don Lemon interviews Princeton University's Dr. Cornel West about his new memoir, "Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud."
Don, I loved your segment on black men in the age of Obama, but one segment you failed to cover was self accountability. In the black community our youth are influenced and immulate what they see and hear on TV, Video, and Music. Everything form defiance of authority, disrespect to women, endorsement of drug dealers in the hood, to saggy pants and "no snitching"...the list goes on and on. Not one educator or entertainer has put Black athletes or entertainers on blast for promoting this lifestyle that has such a profound impact on our youth. These kids are only giving birth to what they are fed! Publicize That!
I agree with the above post, so true!
The Black Codes, Jim Crow, and all the centuries of slavery before them, created a financial vacuum so powerful in the black community. It has not been erased in less than 50yrs. The insanity
ran so deep that the United States Constitution had to have an Act passed by The Congress to enforce the 13th Amendment.
