Chances are, you've seen the art work of Ernie Barnes.
Like many painters who want to emulate him, you may have been inspired.
And that's what he wanted.
The former pro-football player turned artist died last April from complications of a rare blood disorder. Six months later, the tributes and memorials seem to be just getting started.

I never heard of Ernie Barnes until today. Great piece on a great artist. To paint pictures like that takes pure skill. I've seen that picture from Good Times so many times, and I never gave a thought to who painted it, its good to have found out who the artist was. He was truly a great artist, may he rest in peace.
