Adios amigo! Rest in Peace but I doubt that you will be admitted through the Pearly Gates because although you claimed to preach the word of God, you actually preached the word of hate and intolerance in a very sly manner.

Now, if we could have a few more religious right-wing conservatives pass away then every American could have equal rights.

He may have been critized for his faith in God but the man has impacted so many lives for the good! He lived with a purpose and gave his life to that purpose, millions around the world have been inspired and so many lives changed. Can we say that about our life? I have many friends that have graduated from ORU and know of many more. It was this mans desire to do more with his life than just live it for himself that brought the University and Campus to reality. He will be missed but today he is in a better place

My thoughts are that he was 91 yrs. old and had too much say so in government opinion when it comes to church and state.

He was a great man with a heart for God and his fellow man. It is hard to say how many accepted Jesus as their savior because of his powerful witness of Jesus love for us. What greater time to join the Lord than at Christmastime.
I remember my grandfather, a lovely old Nebraska farmer who was suffering from heart trouble could not get out and go to church but listened to Oral Roberts and as a result gave his heart to Jesus and called and asked our local minister to baptize him. He came to the house and baptized Grandpa in the bathtub as he was too weak to make it to the church. We, his loving family, remember Granpas peace and love for the Lord thanks to hearing Oral Roberts. He passed away a short time later. I always meant to write and tell Oral of this.

Although the passing of any person is a sad event; we find ourselves celebrating the passing of celebrity. This man may have helped some people with medical care or shelter, etc etc. However his real work was in providing hope for money. Sad that someone would do this, either a pharaoh in Egypt or a Television genius, the sale of hope has been big business for 1000's of years.

I sincerely think that Oral Roberts was trying to follow the right path, We all make mistakes. His son Richard and wife have tarnished his legacy with their greed. How sad because we need good Christain people in this day and time.

Here is my perspective of Oral Roberts:
Before my husband's grandmother died of dementia, she became obsessed with the Roberts' ministries. She began to send donations. Then the ministries sent representatives to her house, and hundreds of dollars disappeared from her bank account before another relative stopped the visits. I hardly think that preying on the infirm is a godly attribute. Also-in the early 60's, Mr. Roberts was on a revival tour, and he was going to come to our rural, poor area in southeast Missouri. A couple of weeks before the event, some advance people came to a community near us for the purpose of hiring people to be healed during his services.

Oral Roberts misused his tax-exempt university assets and illegally ordered the university to support and participate in Tulsa mayor’s Republican candidate Randi Miller's political campaign.

Issues surrounding multimillion dollar religious organizations’ continued involvement in political parties are unacceptable. Because of these issues, all religious organizations should be taxed like any other business!

Oral Roberts proved P. T. Barnum's idiom that anyone in America can be a success because a sucker is born every minute. Oral Roberts was one of the best exploiters of faith to get millions and millions of dollars out of his followers without getting too wacky. ORU, despite the religious requirements, is a fair uni. I can't really say he subscribed to Jesus' teachings, was more a devoté of the apostle Paul. But he broke new ground, making it possible for many to bilk the believers of billions: Tammy Faye and Jim; Jimmy; Ted and all the others.

Question: What are the odds he will come back and tell us if he was right? Answer: He won't because he wasn't.

Another wolf in sheep's clothing. A bible thumping con artist who did it better than anyone else. The millions he received while proclaiming to be able to heal people; a true scam. Just like "Benny Hinn" who is another of the latest of scam artists to make millions scamming people while proclaiming to be able to heal them. A true fraud.

He should have been prosecuted! He was nothing more than a cheap criminal taking advantage of the gullible!
