What Love Is – and Isn’t
Every single human being has been given the ability to love by God Himself. Whether or not we use this gift is up to us, but here are some considerations worth pondering:
Love delights in giving attention rather than in attracting it.
Love finds the element of good in others and builds on it. It does not magnify defects.
Love sees the other person’s point of view even when you cannot embrace it.
Love knows how to disagree without becoming disagreeable.
Love strives to make a bad situation better instead of merely griping about it.
Love avoids causing unnecessary pain. It does not scorn, ridicule or belittle. It tactfully inspires faith, hope and charity.
Fill your life with acts of love for God, yourself and God’s children. Remember that life is a journey into the arms of our loving God.
“You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet;” and any other commandment are summed up in... “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Romans 13:9)
Never let me grow weary of serving You, Loving God, by loving others as I love myself.
