The cost of fixing a broken heart

A family from Henderson, Texas is financially and emotionally drained. Their 4-month-old daughter Brynn needs a heart transplant to live. The surgery will cost close to $1 million, the Lewis’ have insurance to cover that, but they probably won’t after the surgery. The insurance has a $2 million lifetime treatment cap, combined with the last four months of Brynn’s treatment, the surgery will push her past the limit and the Lewis’ expect to be dropped from their insurance.
