Time to find somebody a paycheck! We try to do it every Thursday with our :30 Second Pitch. Meet John Banks of Baltimore. He's looking for another job in information technology. He has extensive experience as a project manager. John Banks has been unemployed more than a year and looking for work has become his current full-time job.
And remember, you can be part of the pitch. Would love to help ya out! Send us an e-mail at 30secondpitch@cnn.com
To Kyra,
I just saw your segment with you talking with those three unemployed persons (Unemployement Personal Trainer, Rocket Scientist, & Nurse). My concern about that segment is that fact that the nurse was unemployed. Statistics show that there is shortage of nurses that projects to 2020. So how can it be that a nurse is unemployed?
I think the 30 second pitch is a great way to do you part in helping to decrease our unemployment rate. Jobs cant always be provided but you can certainly do your part to provide the resources to those who are out there looking!
thanks!
The issue isn't with the dress but with the action of the student and parent. They chose to violate a known standard on their own accord and now they want to cry foul. If you don't like the rule be responsible and work with the community to change it. The student, like 17 others, chose the punishment; thats called taking responsibility for your actions.
Kyra yes this is 2010 which is the reason why these children should behave better. what's up with the dragging pants and obscene dresses. Yes they should really be paddled and smacked back to good behavior.
The prom dress was cute. It is the cultures & religions that oppress women that want to cover them up. Paddling ?!?!? What's next... CANING ?!?!? How soon will they impose sharia and the evil burka ?!?!?
Some men just LOVE to beat women and will find ANY excuse to do so.
ALL VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS MUST STOP.
Kyra,
What about interviewing individuals who choose to start a business based on their "intellectual captial and experiences" instead of focusing on looking for a job? Specifically businesses focusing on government contracting.
