New this morning, the Labor Department says employers added 431,000 jobs to their payrolls last month.
But the bulk of the growth was in government jobs and private sector job growth was weak.
411,000 of the jobs added were for Census workers whose positions will disappear after the summer.
The unemployment rate dropped from 9.9% to 9.7%.
