Superstar entertainer Usher was "Powered by Service" this week, that’s what he calls the special day his foundation dedicated to teach young people about the world's most pressing issues, so they can teach others.
It’s all part of the goal for Usher's New Look Foundation's to give at-risk kids around the United States a "new look on life".
So far, almost 9,000 kids have gone through the program, which calls them MITs or moguls-in-training. Usher says New Look gives kids the tools they need to "be global leaders."
CNN's Don Lemon sat down with the performer, whose sold 45 million albums. Usher talked about giving back and making sure his beneficiaries pay it forward.
