Banned from the U.S., Professor says He's a Victim of Ideological Exclusion

University of Johannesburg Professor Adam Habib has been able to return to the United States after being excluded since 2006.  The American Civil Liberties Union sued on behalf of the American Sociological Association, the American Association of University Professors, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, and the Boston Coalition for Palestinian Rights to get Habib back into the country.  Then in January Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lifted the exclusion against Habib's visa.  Habib this weekend spoke at the American Sociological Annual Meeting in Atlanta.  What changed?  Why did the United States permit him to enter?  Don Lemon sits down with the once-banned professor.

This sort of action comes to show us how systematic the educational system is in America. The objective is to indoctrinate individuals into believing certain propositions; propositions that the intellectual elites themselves are certainly against but would benefit from due to the pursuit of their own self interest (which is why we have language police controlling what is to be included and excluded from our textbooks).

I respect Professor Adam Habib for simply opposing and speaking out the truth in regards to the war on Iraq. I will simply say it myself: We have no reason being there. The motives are very unjust and if one knows anything about human nature it is that we do not like to be controlled. We cannot forcefully implement democracy in a country that does not even want it.

We have put ourselves in an impossible situation: It was never meant for the United States to win the war in Iraq. This is going to be a never-ending war. The U.S. is going to keep manipulating, indoctrinate, galvanize and practice imperialism until they have achieved global hegemony.
