Twenty years ago, I realized high fructose corn syrup affected my child's behavior. It's an ingredient in everything: cereals, soda, ice cream, cookies, crackers, etc. When we removed all products with HFCS from our diets, behavior was dramatically improved after only 2 -3 weeks. Better listening, less outbursts, more rational thought.
Makes me wonder if Ritalin is really needed; perhaps it's the removal of cheap, low quality sweeteners like HFCS, that could make an improvement in our children's behaviour!
