Airline Safety in 2010

Since 9/11, several tactics have been utilized as an attempt to ensure safety among airline passengers.

It was a fact several years ago that cargo being entered onto planes was screened, but that does not mean that all of the items were inspected. Cargo would be left outside in the open, uninspected, for anyone to easily store unidentified items into the packages before being boarded onto the planes.

Now that the issue of cargo has surfaced with the new findings of explosive devices in the Hewlett-Packard printer packages, what are some ways that the US could handle this issue? How do you feel about your safety and how this issue is being handled? Are the airlines doing all they can, or are we just as vulnerable as we were before the 9/11 attack?

We want to hear from you. Leave a comment and it may appear on air.

It seems to me that we are much safer in many ways...than we were Pre-911. We have learned to be more vigilant, to express our concerns and to require our federal agents to take seriously, their job which is to protect our people. There are, however, no guarantees in life about anything and it is remarkable that we have progressed as we have in this Country. Chance, plays a role in the lives of each of us. I am certainly hoping that 'chance' will assert itself in the election on Tuesday...to provide results which will help America...and avoid returning her to the dark ages!

Why dont they screen everything? they charge us plenty for airmail to post, they charge all sorts for baggage and airline ticketts, yet they can not ensure our safety. time they came into the 20th century.
Seems to me its $$$$ before safety in the USA.

We are only human and humans make mistakes. The terrorists only have to get it right once to score big and eventually they will probably get one of their attacks past our security measures. To me you just have to go about your daily life and not wallow in the fact that you are a possible target for a terrorists. Terrorists would be tickled pink if we all became paranoid and let fear rule our daily lives, why give those freaks the power to ruin a perfectly good day, I pray we never see another terror attack but if we do the average everyday american worrying about it every day isn't going to stop it.
