Game Show Mistake

Can you imagine having $800,000 dollars slip right through your hands? That’s what happened to Gabe Okoye and his girlfriend Brittany Mayti on FOX’s game show "Million Dollar Drop". The couple placed a bid of over $800,000 on the question, "Which product was sold in stores first? The (a) Macintosh Computer (b) Sony Walkman or (c) Post-It Notes". When the answer was revealed and the money was dropped, the couple was devastated.

Shortly after the game show, several viewers began to do a little research, and found that the 'Press and Peel' which is the original name for the 'Post-It Note' was sold in stores in 1977; then the company changed the name to what we all know as "Post-It" in 1979 which is also when the Sony Walkman was produced. The couple provided the CORRECT answer, but did not receive the prize!

Fox spoke to the makers of the Post-It, 3M and confirmed the information and admitted its error. So FOX has invited the couple to come back to the show, to take another shot at winning the money.

Do you think they should go back on the show? What do you think should happen next?

At 9:14am ET we’ll talk live with Gabe Okoye and Brittany Mayti on CNN Newsroom, but we want to hear from you. Leave a comment, and we’ll read your responses during the 10am ET hour of CNN Newsroom.
