About that long-form birth certificate: Well done, Mr President!
Now, stick it to 'em again!

Trump is a idiot and hopefully President Obama is having the last laugh thinking about how much $$ Mr Trump wasted with his ranting.

How many previous Presidents have been hounded for their birth certificates or had their college and university standings trotted out for scrutiny? I think Donald Trump is losing it.

I'm glad he did and put this baby to bed. Although I know it won't be enough, he is moving forward with the issues of the country! Although I respect his decision, I wouldn't continue to validate to ones with empty and hateful thoughts of him. He is a better person than me, but then I would never involve myself in politics on this scale. Validation has always been the devils wings flapping in our lives, and enough already.

That noise that you are hearing across America is that of BIRTHER heads exploding since president Obama released his Long Form Birth Certificate.

No other presidential candidate has EVER been asked to produce a copy of his or her Birth Certificate and this is nothing but code for RACISM. This is NOT 1964 this is 2011.

John King needs to ask The Donald 2 things. 1st Proof that what is on his head is NOT a wig and 2nd Produce all those Tax records he promised – Obama delivered now he has to.

With so much else of importance needing to be addressed, this is a trivial issue at best. Speaking personally, I wouldn't care if Obama was born in Mecca. He's more American than Trump and he's performing his job well. I think he is one of our best presidents ever.

Good for Trump, it took a smart business man to wake up Obama. I am so impressed because for two years I have been hearing about it to the point of being iratated. I now see Trump would be a great man to run for President, our deficit, our relationships with other countries who now look at us for being so weak, also economically. Go Trump and for the first time in my 58 years I will volunteer for trumps campaign if he runs. I pray he will, we need him.... GO TRUMP

Releasing the certificate shows what a clown Trump is – he suspected he was born elsewhere, because he was so blind he couldn't think the scenario through as how such a subterfuge woujld be possible. It's called intellectual laziness . It's too bad Obama released it, because it was a great way to expose all those out there whose minds are trashed. It was like having everyone who is a buffoon wears a big red badge, but instead it was : If he or she believes Obama wasn't born in the U.S, then they are obviously a buffoon. It was easy to pick them out that way. Now it will be harder to recognize the buffons out there. Trump, the most self-absorbed and conceited public figure out there, has already shown his stripes. he is blinded by his own image. How can anyone follow, nevertheless support, such a shallow personality as Trump? He's in love with himself.

No, the President should not have to show the long form of his birth certificate. He does not lie, he is as honest as Honest Abe. I do not blame him for going to all that trouble but I see why he did because he has so many issues to think about. We should show more respect for the President. I will not watch any program with Donald Trump on. I am old enough to remember when he went bankrupt and the banks all bent over to lend more money. He is not a nice man.

Donald Trump should have said "I am full of myself" this A.M. when he talked about the release of the President's birth certificate. He's seeking attention for himself and is not a real GOP contender. God help us all if he were President.

Why is this an issue now? We went from total catastrophe with a government shut down to our president ( Who has been for over 2 years) not being able to show a birth certificate. Seriously some people need to grow up and focus on the big picture....THE ECONOMY!

Concerning the Birther Debate, Is Donald Trump Saying that President Obama is the Manchurian Candidate? Was he an African implant over 40 years ago, to be given a magic word that's going to trigger his mind into turning America over to South African rule? Let it go Donald, you are too smart and to rich for something so petty.

I am a faithful viewer and I admire the content and quality of your new. This morning between 10 am and 12m, you ran the story of the presidents birth certificate. After running story on its a waste of time and we as a nation have more important things to do,you immediatly ask you twits and faces to comment on if the president should have released the certificate earlier. I am disappointed that you could not just let the matter drop and ask questions about some of our real problems. This is way below what I expect of you .

It is a sad commentary that President Obama's birth certificate is causing this much attention. This is a subject that I thought has come to rest, but thanks to Mr. Trump this seems to have been reactivated again. A definite political move or so he believes. A true candidate should be talking about the important issues in our country and we know there are many of them.

I can't believe that Trump continues this when the country is in such trouble, and you have a president that is doing a lot more than the last one did. I have never seen a president before having to prove birth to an ordinary citizen before. Is Trump that stupid to think all this was not checked out for a man to become the president of your country. If that's what money does to ppl, they can have it, and Trump having the gull to say he has done what noone else has done, and saying we need to get on more important things. What does he think his president has been doing. Obama doesn't have time to play Trump games when your ppl are being killed in another country. Trump is the one that started this crap. Your president is doing the job he was elected to do and Trump is being himself. Big mouth. Hope other countries don't judge the states by Trump.

I am appalled that I live in a country where a black president is held to a different standard than a white president. This whole "birther" thing is sad. Donald Trump does not show me any personal integrity, class, or even basic intelligence with this whole episode. I wish the media would quit covering his rabid discourse. You know that it will not stop with this.

And so you know my demographic – I am a Midwesterner (KC), am 63 years old, vote "independent" and am a white woman who voted for President Obama and think he is doing a decent job with the cards he was dealt. More of us from the heartland need to speak out and yes, you may use my name.

I wish President Obama had not succumbed to the pressure of having to produce his original birth certificate. Why hasn't any other President been challenged about the validity of their birth? In my opinion, this has nothing to do with his birth, but has everything to do with the fact that the President is an African American. The "good old boys" cannot bear the fact that we as Americans base our votes on the substance and character of the peron and not the color of his skin.

Donald Trump and all the others who have joined in this witch hunt should be ashamed of themselves. Their feelings do not represent mine or the majority of the American People.

President Obama should not have played into the hype. Now Trump claims credit and he's proud of himself??? What arrogance!! Who the h_ll does he think he is? Who cares what he thinks?? The Naysayers will still believe what they want to. Their goal is to intentionally create distractions.

    Dear Ali,

Did anyone ask "the Donald" about what exactly "his people" found in Hawaii? He has not answered that question. Have there been any other presidents questioned about their U.S. citizenship in our history? Do we Americans really want Donald Trump representiing us to the world? With such "tact" and "diplomacy" as "the Donald" possesses, he would set us back he is questioning whether the President was truly qualified to attend the ivy league schools he attended...Well Mr. Trump it will be interesting to find out what skeletons come out of your closet...Unfortunately many people will listen to Trump because his skewed views fit their world view...I hate to use this word because I thought we as a nation had come so far but I truly believe racism is at the heart of this issue...of course they will deny it....but it is so obvious it might as well be a banner worn across their foreheads or "combovers".

It's a sad day in America, when the nation had to reduce to the level of the likes of Donald Trump and others questioning the status of a United States President. The real issue behind the so called birthers, is the fact that the President of the United States is a well educated, black man. Who has led this country back from the ruins and destruction of the Bush era. It is acceptable for them to question his heritage, rather than to object to the color of his skin. America, looks like a hypocrite around the world because of people like Trump, Palin, Bachman, Limbaugh, and the other nut that left fox. We holler we are a nation of immigrants, we want other countries to experience democracy, we hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, but yet we let people with their racist attitudes and views hide under sheeps clothing. It is time to expose these people for who they really are... and call them to the carpet, stop beating around the bush. President Obama , I say to you a job well done, keep working to get our country out of this hole , we were put in because of greed, lies and deceit of the past. Restore the faith of America around the world with dignity, grace, knowledge, truth and respect. Yes, America is a racist country always has been, but it is time out for such crap, I am sick of it all. If we want success for this country, we must all work together, whether you are Republican or Democrat, or it will be to the demise of this great country. Let's get over race, and get in this race to restore our countries dignity.

  24. Obama supporter...

My thoughts on this whole thing?...Totally Ridiculous! Obama is the President of the United States. I feel that he should not have to answer to anyone. I am an African American. It seems very racist for Donald Trump to question our Presidents proof of birth, as well as his intelligence! (How dare him)! Why didnt he question George Bush? (Who, by the way was not very intelligent to many, but you do not see individuals asking him how he managed to attend the college that he attended). A Bachelors Degree in Economics, with a concentration in Finance? A couple of bankruptcies? "Come on Donald Trump!" Really??? Where is your Master Degree??? PHD maybe?? So you ended up with an awesome life... that's great, but you are a prime example of someone who is trying everything possible for a political boost!. You are making this a big "circus", with your interested in running for president. LOL!

C'mon, Trump should stop wasting our's as well as his own time!
So should the Media by enabling him to take over the News with all this nonesense! If President Obama was truely unable to produce a Birth Certificate stating he was Born here, he never would have gone as far as running, no less becomming The President of this Country!
We have far more important problems to be addressing than anything Trump has brought out to Date! "Mr Hollywood" should just go back home!

Today when looking at the CNN News, I thought I was seeing and hearing the unbelievable. I believe it is a disgrace that our President of the United States has to prove his citizenship AGAIN. When running for senator, I am sure he had to show necessary paperwork. When its all said, the unbelievers will look stupid for putting our President through unnecessary means. I saw the birth certificate out out by CNN and I am proud of the fact this rumor will be put to rest. Now, I thinking they want to see his school records. I believe overall he grades were outstanding. All of this came about by people who cannot accept we are all equal regardless to out background and race.

In regard to Donald Trump, he should spend his money on getting a face lift and a new hair style. It is a shame to have some much money and cant find a better reason to spend it. He will lose a lot of money by investigating someone who is honorable and has lived an honorable life.

Trump is such a low class human being. Who said he was a U.S. citizen? He has made himself look so ridiculous. If he ever had a chance as a presidential candidate, he blew it. Now he is trying to get on the news shows by challenging President Obama's college credentials. Why do you newspeople keep giving him airtime? That's exactly what he wants. You are part of the problem!

I'm sure other countries are busting up laughing our ingorance. I think President Obama made a very smart move in showing his birth certificate to shut up the stupid alligations. Now that this is over and done with (hopefully but not counting on it), maybe we can see or hear some sort of substance as to what Donald Trump is really about, because really all I have ever heard him cry about is President Obama's birth certificate. Mr Trump, can you please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! talk about substance issues because frankly I'm getting board with your whinning about the birthcertificate. You said "you" made President Obama show his birth certificate. What a class act of self-glorification!

I am embarrised. Shame on Donald Trump for helping to bring Obamas Birth Certificate to light. The norm is that when people try to keep information hidden , there IS SOMETHING TO HIDE. I am so glad that we still have some Americans that insist on truth. It is a fact that to run for president you must be American. A canidate must show that he is American born . Thank you Danald for pushing the fact.
Shame on the new, young , liberal reporters that did not dig into the information and be the first to expose the Oh So Great One. What ever happened to investigative reporting.?
CNN I have listened to your Ms. Ali today and I am sick of hearing her place the blame on republicans. If I am not wrong two Democrats were the first to wonder where he was born. We are all not forgetful of that.. If a republican asks a question they are called racest. If a democrat asks the same question they are called brilliant and futuristic. I am sick of listening and besides you only have to listren for one statement coming from the reporters mouth and you know if he is democrat or republican. Just tell us the news, do not give your views I am intelligent enough to form my own.
By the way someone please inform the listeners that Obama was not the only president to be asked for credentials. I do not think it was called racism when President Bush was asked for his college grades. What do you think??.

Why would Obama's mother give birth in Africa when her husband was already married and had kids there? Okay, multiple wives are allowed in Africa. But then, why would she get on a flight for 22 hours, endure: more swelling for her swollen ankles, discomfort with safety belts, extra visits to small lavatories, to be able to deliver a baby in a third world country? Only a man would trump that theory up.

I believe it is a fake document

I'm a printer, I know how things are done...

Even my friend doesn't believe it and she campaigned and voted for him. She is very politically involved with democrats.

She says about the birth cert– How come race says African? Didn't they use Negro back then? They used Oriental for Asians.

    Valid point!!

Further more, I like Trump for his boldness. I agree with alot that he says , except one thing I heard about Libya's oil. We should not be greedy for gain, thats not why we are their. Those people are being slaughtered over their. If we were being slaughtered over here( and it just might happen), we wouldn't want the people that are helping us to rob us at the same time, would we? Maybe take over Trump's Casino, after the slaughtering of his family. This would be a very cold thing to do. May GOD continue to bless you with more wisdom Mr. Trump. For GOD says, when a wise man is reproved and he listens, he becomes wiser, but when a fool is reproved, and does not want to listen, he becomes more foolish and laughs at reprovement.

All you IDIOTS who still belive Obama is a citizen are morons! Obama HIMSELF IN HIS VERY OWN WORDS while on a trip to Turkey CLEARLY STATED; " People say that maybe I'm not an American citizen, some people say he has a forged birth certificate, well first of all, um and, it's TRUE I'M (NOT) AMERICAN, I was NOT born in Hawaii, I wasn't born in the United States of America, I come from KENYA". And now today just because he's running for POTUS again, he releases another computer drafted forgery. OH! But when the man HIMSELF ADMITS HE'S NOT AMERICAN AND BORN HERE, and then there's a FORGERY as he so clearly stated, then it's ok right huh huh huh! You are all idiots WHO BELIVE anything HE SAYS! Bush was a moron and Obama's a socialist ursurper.

Why did it take so long. He had to get the fake made. Clean up all data that would prove it fake. Get fake data created all over the place. Somewhere, someplace there is a piece of data showing it is fake. A photo from someone they do not know exists.

If he was real he would have tossed it at the feet of the nonbelievers instantly.

    He lies!

All who voted for Obama have seen that he was black, son of a kenyan citizen. He did not hide anything. I am sorry about those who think that he is not worthy to be President of this big country. But it takes a African to lead this big and respectful country, because the most intelligent man of the world IS AN AFRICAN, PRESDENT OF UNITED STATED.
    Who else could beat him?
Noboby will ever trust this country again. How in the world did you leave him get there, if he was not an american?
You need to know that not only a white or a man must be president of USA.May God continue to bless this country lead by an intelligent, pride and black president..

Trump's "honored" to have been the only person to "make" the president release his birth certificate? Trump's honoring himself? This man is a bully, an incredibly cynical amoral man. He doesn't want to be president – he want to be an emperor. His ego will be his downfall.

It's sad that our country wastes time watching Donald Trump. Think of all of the electricity wasted watching this fool on television its no wonder fossil fuels are on the rise. It's also amazing that people believe Obama's birth location is in question. Instead of making horrible comments about our president with more grammatical errors than trump has credibility, we should all be focusing on backing Obama so during his next six years he can work to fix the problems of the past eight. Its sad that in the first 225 years of our nation, we accumulated 5 trillion in debt and in eight we accumulated an additional 6 trillion. I could care less if Obama was born on the moon at least he is trying to make a difference. Also if your going to accuse Obama for the high gas prices, I suggest you read up on the past three decades of US history before you make this assertion.

For all of you who plan to run for President. Before you get my vote you will have to prove to me you can lead and make the needed changes now and then and keep doing the job while in office. Just like a person working must prove by doing something that solves the problem gets the new job. All Americans should demand that any one that wants to be President must right now show us he or she isn't just making promises but only be elected by what is done before the election to correct and solve many things. In other words that person is able to create things that will solve many of the issues we are facing now. Get groups of people from all walks of life and experience together in meetings and throw all kinds of ideas.

This birth certificate is NOT a matter of race or religion. IT IS about Obama being "qualified" to be an American President. An American President MUST be born in the United States of America!! Every canidate who "runs" for President of our Wonderful Country should be required to "proof" their qualifications. This includes producing their birth certificate, social security card, drivers licence and every docoment that every other "American" must produce in order to qualify for ANY benefits available in the United States of America. (Even though we "give" illegal immigrants benefits that they do not deserve. Taking away from our American public.)
If "Obama" had produced his birth certificate when first requested there would not have been an issue at all. By NOT doing so, he caused the American public to doubt his birth right. I don't understand the reason for the secrecy. So glad Mr. Trump finally "forced" it to be published.

I like our President. We all need to pray for our country. And all need to work together to and maybe for once will see who the great leaders come from working together and you won't have to campaign so hard you all will be elected for solving and creating needed resolve. You are all making it all to hard my fighting with each other. We once was a nation who pulled together we need to do that again . Our soon will all lose.

CNN seems to be really taking the Republican Bait with Trump today.

#1 Trump has FAR FAR to many skeleton's in the closet to run for President
#2 The best thing the Republicans can do right now is create a big distraction and Trump is the perfect pawn to do it. While everyone freaks out about Trump's camera time the Republicans can attempt to get their act together on a real candidate and keep that person off the Media radar for as long as possible to limit the time the media has to shred the candidate limb by limb.

If Trump is doing so great and is so wealthy how about he pay back all the creditors and businesses he ripped off when he filed chapter 11?

Yes occasionally he has a comment that makes total sense but that doesn't make him White House material.

I do not care what anybody says. But the fact and the truth is not about President Obama's birth certificate, it is about his race. Of all the presidents so far in this country, who has ever questioned any of them whether they were a citizen or not? Is it becuase they were all white and automatically 'American' ? I am sick of the double standards in this country. Even in this age and time, People will still not move beyond their narrow-mindedness, naivity and what have you. It is a shame America, It is a shame. If you treat your President like this how do you expect the rest of the world to treat him? What type of respect do you expect others to give him. Why would you put your president to such indecency of having to post or broadcast his birth certificate. Where in the world has this every happened? What happened to privacy? what happened to decency? I weep for you America. I weep for you. When Mc Cain was running for President, did anybody ever question if he was born in America? I would like you to answer that question. Where was Mc Cain born? It is pathetic, politics or no politics. This just confirms the image the rest of the world has of America. Finally, this is not only about Donald Trump. it is about the media, some Republicans who can't even hold their own and a substantial number of Americans who don't know any better.

I have no problem with Obama as president. People are asking why past presidents weren't asked for proof of their citizenship. How many past presidents had a parent from Kenya, or for that matter, outside the United States?

"All you IDIOTS who still belive Obama is a citizen are morons"

The fact that there are people out there like this commenter, who apparently cannot come to grips with reality, is precisely the reason that Trump continues to make allegations while the RNC chair comes on CNN and says he can't control Trump.

Speaking of which, the RNC chair's allegations that Medicare will be broke in eight years and only Republicans are doing something about it are, shall we say, spurious. Republicans would kill Medicare if they could. And look at both the Reagan and Dubya administrations. Republicans are very poor financial managers.

If you were thinking the place of birth was the real issue, then just you watch what comes next. My inclination is that most of us want to believe this was and is a single issue (birth place). But, have we ever had a single issue that drives the National Conversation which turned out to be so simple? Almost immediately, the real issues are beginning to surface in larger areas. In the meantime, check out the new and interesting side shows. It's too easy to be intelligent about this stuff .. so let's all do the hard thing... play dumb and watch with amusement.

Just what do this man, [he is a self bragger] think he has accomplished by this thing -Mr. Resident, present a birth certificate or you can not run a country. What do a certificate has to do with wisdom and knowledge to perform a great duty for your country? I do not think that he will make a good president because he is concern with stabbing at other people rather than helping them. Do you think that he will ask for your birth certificate to see if you are legit american to vote for him. If he win>["LOOK WHAT (I) HAVE DONE"] .Those will be his words. He is a SELF-BRAGGER; public, you better beware of this one for sure!

I need to comment on the nonsense questioning of President Obama birth certificate.
I strongly feel that if he was a white President no one would have dare to ask for his birth certificate, also now that the whole country and the rest of world have gotten the proof that he was born in Hawaii the arrogant Donald Trump wants to make sure that it is original.
Who does he think he is? A man that because of his wealth can go around insulting people that differs from his point of view. Is this the man that wants to rule this country? What a shame!
Most citizens of this wonderful country are sick and tired of people like him that instead of working to improve this great nation just go around manipulating and encouraging more hatred and violence, like the one in Arizona provoked by Sara Palin vendetta, the tea party and extremists.
Regardless all the stones in President Obama path, he is doing a great job! It is time for all these politicians and want a be politicians to understand that average Americans are feed up with their dirt, we need results!

For God's sake. It's time to stop pandering to the lunatic fringe. The birther's have already received far more attention than deserved. Put it to rest already.
