What do the French people think of Dominique Strauss-Kahn?

Fredricka's guest:  a veteran journalist in Paris.  She asks him what the French people think of the case made against former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Could the one-time presidential hopeful survive a scandal in the states and still mount a campaign back home?

I am not sure what the French think but it seems to me that if a maid at a hotel can play you for a fool, you are not fit to be a president. Also, he clearly cheated and commited adultery. Or was this consensual too!? Fat chance in my opinion but the French may have a different approach when it comes to sex scandals.

Allegedly raping a black dispossessed maid, pffftttt that will get him the French sympathy vote. How dare the US Justice Department call him to give legal account for himself? He is French!!! He has "a problem" with women, no issue there! He is spending a huge amount of money in NY. Now that is an issue! No confusion of ethics there, Viva La France!
