Today's BIG I Randi Kaye talked to Milo Cress, a 10-year-old who's launched an anti-straw campaign

I saw the interview with the boy about the straws. Does he realize what he is advocating? I sent him an email and I want you to read it:
"Has it ever occurred to you that some people DEPEND on straws to drink anything?
I know an elderly, disabled woman who cannot get out of her bed at all and has to be lifted out with a machine. In bed she cannot drink anything, not even water, without a straw! People need to be upright to drink properly and in bed you cannot be upright, but a flexible straw would help. Do you want to deprive people like that of drinking anything at all?
Before you go on TV and make a fool of yourself - and make a lot of money selling ad space on your website - think about people who need straws to drink! Don't be an idiot!"
Randi Kaye did a wonderful and very sensitive interview with Milo Cress; this kid is certainly "on the righttrack," he is doing amazing things, and will leave this earth a much better place than what he found.
Milo is too polite to tell you how awful you were to just toss those straws at the end of his interview, but I am not. Way to miss the point of his campaign!
He claims the US uses 500 million straws everyday from industry supplied numbers?
The population of the US is 307,006,550 that equates to nearly every man, woman, child and baby using more than one straw EVERY SINGLE DAY? His numbers are absurd.
Ever tried drinking a soda from a drive thru, in your car, without a straw?
Using a straw rather than drinking directly out of a cup or can reduces tooth decay
Very cute! I am sure she loved them as well as her guest. I know my guest loved the note cards you gave me for wnniing a blog give away! I am sending your info to a friend too!
