Snatched Girl Found Murdered
A 7 year old girl is kidnapped and murdered in a small Georgia town. Brooke talks with Erin Runnion, a mother whose daughter was also kidnapped and murdered. She says the the two cases are painfully similar.

I understand how sad this story is about the murdered girl because I have a 4 year old daughter myself, but can you explain what evidence the police has on the suspect? From what CNN reported, his brother said he had a live in girlfriend? Where was she during this time? Since the girl was sexually assaulted have they found dna evidence? A lot of what I've seen on CNN still leaves questions of how they came to this conclusion. I smell a law suit if this turns out to be the wrong person in custody and a lot of the blame will be the medias fault for not checking the facts.
Immoral not to seek ultimate justice for this little girl. The death penalty is absolutely warranted.
I would also like to know what evidence they have on this suspect.
I agree with Judger...This is such a horrible act. If the suspect is found guilty he should be sentenced to the death penalty, quickly, and justly. Instead, he will sit on death row appealing for the next 10 years while our tax dollars pay for his tv, food, and "appeals". He may sign a book deal if he gets enough media. America needs to wake up, those fighting to end the death penalty do they ever stop to think, "What if this were my little girl?"
This is a horrible situation, I am a mother of a boy and little girl, and I am sick about the murder of this beautiful little girl and cannot image the pain that this family is going through. I too am a survivor of sexual abuse as a child and I have NO empathy for sicko predators. I will say, however, I too do not think they have the right suspect. I beleive that the police were on the right track looking at the apartment maintenance staff that had keys to the compactor. But I think they got the wrong guy. Just a hunch.
So glad my son is grown and older looking. Not a target for pedophiles anymore. Moms, the ONLY way to prevent molestation is to personally supervise your children at all times. Do not easily trust others with your children, and do not assume that because someone is a familiar figure or "screened" by an employer that they will not abuse your child. With the high rates of molestation that both boys and girls experience growing up, this is not paranoia. My son had close calls more than once, and he doesn't even know it. I kept my eyes open and was able to remove him from access of three separate pedophiles before anything happened. Those are the ones I knew about. One was never charged or convicted for crimes others witnessed. One was running from the law and staying in a bed and breakfast we were in in exchange for labor. The other was someone who likely would have had an opportunity to molest had I not moved from the area if I had allowed my son to be in a program many boys his age were in after we left. That one has been found to have molested many boys. Moms, personally keep your kids in your line of sight. All in love.
Why was she not being watched? 7 year olds should not be left alone. Its illegal in my state to leave a child under 12 alone. I'm not surprised this happened, people just don't mind to leave there kids alone. This is not like the old days when it was ok to let your kids play outside alone.
I think that anyone who thinks this scumbag doesn't deserve a torturous death for this murder is just a coward.
Do you death penalty advocates ever notice that your eagerness to put somebody to death gives you a common trait with the monster that killed this little girl?
The cops do believe they have the right person. He was the maintenance man at the apt complex. He took the little girl to an empty apt and raped and beat her to death then threw her in the trash. They have dna evidence and proof that he had access to the apt. The little girl wasnt unsupervised whe was being watched by a teenage babysitter while her mom was at work on a weekend. The little girl walked from the playground to her apt to get a drink and didnt come back so the babysitter went to look for her and couldnt find her. I hate sick individuals like this. He planned this out and saw and opportunity and jumped on this little girl. This guy is sick and any family member is going to say that they dont believe that he is capable of something so sick.
Having two boys, I also have a hard line on pediflies, but make sure you get the right person. The death penalty doesn't deter crimes and DNA has found that we don't always get the right person. A life sentence is worse than death row...knowing you will never get out. Pediphillia is a serious problem in the world. I agree with Jane...do anything you can to protect your child.
who ever did this to this little angel must be executed in public, not behind closed doors with viewers, make this execution public as an example to would be child killers. Demand capital punishment, no long drawn out trials. the morons must be eliminated.
I agree with Jane above...don't trsut anyone with your kids. Teach them to tell you when things don't seem right or make them uncomfortable. Watch them at public places-Chuck E Cheese, park, Waterslide. Once when my kids were little we were at the park when I noticed a grown man INSIDE THE PLAY STRUCTURE following my little girls around. I called out to him and he ran. He was THIS CLOSE -*- behind my girls. SCARY! I went to the local police substation and reported what happened. THEY WOULD BARELY TALK to me. They said it was HIS right to be in the park. Later at home, I went to Megan's Law website and actually FOUND THE GUY. He lived near the park. Parents-do not trust anyone to protect your children.
why bother with justice. these animals get off easy . i say they should have no rights when a murder is that of a molested child. how sick this is. i hope they get the guy and sorry to say he is killed before it costs the taxpayers money for his trial. never thought i would be talking like this in a million years. but to many of our young are being nurdered and raped by sickos
Why is it that all these abductions and murders of children are mostly ignored? Why isn't
government taking more steps to protect our children?!! And severely punish those who
commit such horrific acts. What we have right now is obviously not working.
Its sad so many sick people n this world o pray that they get help or kill themselves instead of hurting innocent children
What they need is someone too fear somebody who operates on the same principles as they do with no pity no remorse who only goal is to inflict as much pain as possible and the when they think its over make them realize it's only the beginning.again this is just a thought
i have a ten yr old daughter. im 51 im from Chicago. I was taught by my father.children and old folks are off limits to our sickness of violence and sexual deviant behavior.all those found guilty beyond the shadow of doubt. The PUNISHMENT SHOLD BE SWIFT AND HARSH. WILL IT STOP THE BEHAVIOR NO. FACT; THAT ONE WONT GET AWAY..WE MUST MUST MUST PROTECT THE CHILDREN. IF NOT TOMORROW IS LOST. GOD BLESS THE BABIES. Sex offenders mostly will repeat offend, just because they did it more than the one time the got caught and think they will get away with it again and again. when i got caught stealing cookies that "ONE" time i didnt stop. a bullet is only a few cents not millions and millions of tax payers WASTED money. that money could go to something better like a trip to Hawaii for the prez. murders, rapists and child killers and sex offenders should be executed at the first opportunity, free prisons of cannabis offenders. and doug have you been taking something, you cannot compare what you have said as the executioner is working for the people to uphold the law set out by the courts. give me the gun and i will happily send these vile monsters to the grave
the death penalty is too good for them, it's an easy way out. I think life in prison is worse because they are the ones being abused over and over again without ever hoping to get out. The prosecutors for Casey Anthony were too eager to pursue the death penalty, and some jurors did not want to have it hang over their head that they sent someone to death so she got away with it.
