    I don't agree. She's never said she was the pioneer of this technique. And have you listened to her albums? seriously how is it possible to say that Kaki writte songs without melodies? Without talking about technique, she wrotte the saddest melodies I've never heard on acoustic guitar. That's true there are a lot of other good and very good guitarists who can writte beautiful songs, but not with this thing that penetrates you and brings you to another dimension...

    I also don't agree with James. Sorry man but you are making criticism on music. You are suppose to listen and admire it. Not compare it because, YEA there are better artist, but each of them transends you to a different world.

    I agree with James very strongly. Her technique is sloppy at best. And many of the melodies for the songs on her first album are a rip off of Michael Hedges. She has potential but needs a lot of work. So Steffi if you want to hear sad and soulfully melodies, that as Jolio says will transcend you, check out Hedges or some of the others listed by James. But to get at the true roots of this style you need to check out John Fahey and Leo Kottke. Preston and Hedges are often referred to as a disciples of those two artist.

    @James Tennon

    Kaki doesn't claim to be the pioneer of any of these techniques, and she always listed Preston Reed in particular as one of her major influences. In this video alone she plainly admits that she is and always will be a student of the instrument, and will always be learning. Just because the piece is being done on a musician you don't like as much as others doesn't make it shabby reporting. You don't need to tear her down to list up those other musicians. Kaki is great in her own way, just as Preston and Michael and all the others are.

    To DGOB :
    Thank you man but as I'm curious and listent to a LOT of music, I've already checked all of these artists. They are really good but it won't make me change my mind, it seems that people just don't have the same sensitivity...
    Above all what is crazy is that as a music lover, and player also, and I would never be able to criticize so badly any kind of artist, as we're sharing the same passion.
    Sure she is not the best "tapping technican", but she has her own personality in her songs and for sure this person doesn't deserve any of your reproaches.
    Her success demonstrates that she must not be as bad as you can say. She knows that she has fans all over the world.

    Anyway, I just can't understand all this hatred, and free wickedness. No more to say.
