Why don't they just say "selfishness" instead of "greater focus on individual happiness"? Maybe that's the new politically correct way to say someone is acting selfishly.

I am 57 and my husband of 33 years has been having an affair for a year..same woman he had one with 24 years ago.. HE is SO selfish – won't give me a dime since I have a military retirement and wants to take 50% of that. She is getting great maintenance and I get nothing .. I put him through school – bailed him out of jail, suffered physical and emotional abuse to be left.. Because of articles like this he feels validated in his/their behavior.. Others are doing it all the time why can't he..This is not RIGHT.. and you should not be condoning the inappropriate behavior. I am appalled that you would even support what is morally wrong
