Brooke talks with David Cooley, the owner of a gay bar in West Hollywood, who has banned bachelorette parties from his club. He says that while he's happy for the brides-to-be, he decided to ban the parties in the belief that it's hurtful; not everyone can have that same type of celebration. He tells Brooke that he hopes other bar and club owners will take a stand for same-sex marriage and ban these parties until everyone has the same rights.
No problem. Why not hang out a "Gay Only" sign and let straights know that you don't want there business. If that's what you want in this economy, then more power to ya. When you go out of business, don't blame straights for your poor and emotional business decisions.
Did I hear that right? Did the reporter accuse the gay owner of reverse discrimination!?
He's making a valid political statement: It is discrimination to exclude homosexuals from the institution of marriage.
If gays were allowed to marry, then the gay community would make strides in eliminating male prostitution. I believe the real reason why some people are against gay marriage is that they just don't view homosexuals as having equal political (or moral) status as other citizens.
@ FRED – This bar WILL NOT be at loss to your business . . .especially being rated #1 GAY BAR IN THE WORLD lol
Finally some one stands up for our community. I really think things like this and even more aggressive needs to happen to let our voice be herd. I honestly think WE (gay community) shouldnt have to pay the same amount of taxes as those who have COMPLETE rights. . .in Fact I think if WE ( Gay Community) just STOP paying taxes or filing the people and government will see just how bad they need us and see that theres a sugnificant number of us that are discriminated everyday for loveing our partners and wanting the same Rights and Treatment.
