Breastfeeding video turned into porn
A New Jersey mother Googles herself and shockingly discovered a good deed from her past is now twisted into something she fears will haunt her and her young daughter for the rest of their lives. Brooke talks to the woman whose instructional breast feeding video was turned into online pornography.
If anyone wants to know, this 'niche' fetish probably falls under the maiesiophilia category somewhere (I was a psychology major for two semesters). That being said, the people who produce porn using stock footage intended to be educational, are slightly worse than their target market, from an ethical/moral perspective. And I think the only thing that will scar her daughter will be the media exposure, and the breastfeeding issue will hardly compare in the long run.
Between the footage itself and the fact some company decided to distribute it in accordance with a signed contractual agreement; this won't ever emotionally harm her child in a million years (as common sense says that corporations can be expected to sell people's dignity if it can make them a dollar). But the mother's bizarre reaction to her own mistake, making a public exhibition of her unawareness, in combination with the coverage this 'story' is receiving...I say good luck to her, to protect her child from that emotional damage at this point.
This seems like a pretty simple winning case. She was lied to as to whether her full name would be used, even if the contract says otherwise. Contracts are not magic.

Have you any idea, Maryann, just how many people are going to see the vdeo now? You did not read the contract? That is why there are contracts,so I cannot tell you it is for beans, and you sign over your life.
Anyway, the vieo is now widely searched for and found, I guess it worked for Paris, but you guys have very varied lives.

Given she signed a contract that she failed read, and given there's absolutely no proof other than her own claim that she was told only her first name would ever be available, I'm betting she'll lose the case, and rightly so. There's a reason contracts include specifics...so the person signing knows whats going on. Apparently, she didn't care enough to read and find out just what that meant.
really? Is instruction even necessary? what did they do 100 years ago before videos? I know the kids didn't starve or none of us would be here right now. I not sure who is dumber. The person who thinks anyone needs instruction or the person who needs instructing.
All things considered this seems like a whole lot of nonsense; its incredible to consider that this woman would go to all the effort of contacting a big publishing company, making all the contacts (through gate keepers!) along the way to suggest and/or convince them that they should film her breast-feeding. Really? Extreme altruism aside, what is it that motivates a 'supposedly' private and concerned (and now protective) mother to do that? If she were truly concerned about sheltering her baby (and perhaps herself) from that kind of notoriety it would seem readily obvious that pursuing a high profile law suit, media interviews and all the exposure it will and has already generated is probably at least a million times as great as the porn video ever would have achieved. Now, by pushing the matter, rather than quietly letting it die as things always do on the web, she's given it new life letting the entire world (along with family, friends, future employers, etc) knows who she is and how poor her decision making skills are. I empathize but can't feel sorry for her. In the end this may help her develop some forethought desperately needed critical thinking skills.
nunya biz. 100 years ago bottle feeding cows milk was in coming into vogue. Several generations of women have not had the help of their mothers or elder females to instruct them on breast feeding techniques. Its not as easy as it would seem given how how unnatural the birth process is these days. Medications, c sections and other interventions by doctors make starting breastfeeding somewhat difficult. Even though this may be medically necessary, ease of breast feeding is lost in the process. In the past you would get instruction from your mother or actually see a woman breastfeeding casually in the home environment. That is not the case for over 100 years in western culture, and as such women have no reference.
After reading the complaint, it seems she actually filmed porn, and someone edited a nonporn film she did with a porn film SHE DID. If you read or listen, they're talking about how someone LINKED UP her porn video with her breast showing video. I'm not sure why she's shocked that her porn history came back to haunt her when she googled her name.
She successfully clogged up google with her stupid lawsuit now, we can no longer find the movie, easily. 🙁
It sounds like a lot of the commenters didn't listen to the interview closely. The lawsuit IS going forward and has not been thrown out of court, despite the existence of the signed contract. She did NOT make the porn video - the porn filmmaker found a look-alike actress so that they could seemlessly insert the breastfeeding video into the porno film. Also, many women need help and instruction on how to breast-feed; it is likely that in the past mothers instructed daughters, but that chain of knowledge has been interrupted by the work of the baby formula industry.
If you do not want it to come back and haunt you later -DO NOT DO IT AND ESPECIALLY PUT IT IN THE MEDIA OR ON THE INTERNET-this breastfeeding issue is absurd-they are making a very natural loving thing between a mother and child into a vulgar scene -these mothers need to do their breastfeeding covered or in private-breastfeeding has been done for years and has never been turned into a "public show" until now that these so called CRUNCHY MAMAS want to pull their breast out in public -and then they get upset because someone looks or says something-who isn't going to notice especially when you are feeding a child that can walk and talk(a baby being fed has to be done-they have to be fed when they are hungry) but a toddler can be fed food or a drink from a cup in public-if you put in breastfeeding on the search it is not educational info that you only get-expect homemade videos and pictures of a womans breast with their names on them-who do they think looks at those?-what do they think is being done with these pictures and videos?-they have no control over them once it is loaded and posted-Mothers need to be smart and protect their children
Most of you are missing the point. She is now vulnerable because her last name links the images to her personally. Any deviant can likely find her if desired. She alleges that her last name was not to be used. If that is the case then the fact that she signed an agreement is moot.
Hopefully, she won't attempt to post such videos on the internet again. I don't understand her need to film this private act and place it on the world-wide web.
I only read the title of the video and didn't bother to find out anything more, so I have a lot of stupid, uninformed things to say about this woman.
There are many breastfeeding/baby educational/instructional videos and books out there- complete with pictures. I am unsure why this made the news? Just because there is the word 'porn' linked to it?
here's the thing: you have freedom to breastfeed in public, people have freedom to video/document things happening in public places. they have the freedom to publish it on the internet, and you have the freedom to (ineffectively) complain. Freedom is a two-way street. Only way to ensure your "natural maternal behavior" doesn't end up feeding someone's sexual fetish, is to keep private activities within the confines of private areas.
To complete Chris's point: and the only way not to get groped or raped is to never go out in public or on a date.
Breastfeeding can be very difficult for many women. I had a 100% natural birth, but I had a lot of trouble breastfeeding, and I needed help. It's natural, but difficult, like running a marathon. (Who needs tips on running? It's natural. Why would anyone make videos about running techniques with their bare legs exposed, somebody could splice that into leg fetish porn) In the past, babies didn't starve when their moms had trouble breastfeeding, they were fed by another lactating woman (such as my grandma, who nursed her neighbor's child) or they were given goat's milk, which caused gastrointestinal problems for the infants.
STOP BLAMING THE VICTIM!

Post-carboniferous tetrapods have been breastfeeding without the benefit of instructional videos for about 65 million years now.
