The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library has released candid photos of the Kennedy family that have never been seen before. CNN's Brooke Baldwin speaks with Monte Durham from TLC's 'Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta' about what these photos tell us about the family.
During the past presidential campaign, I was struck by the fact that so much was made of Mitt Romney's wealth and his wife's equestrian competition, and so little was made of the Kennedy wealth at that time. As a matter of fact, their wealth and glamor was seen as a plus. I don't recall any talk of tax returns either. I know the times were different, but I really thought Romney was unfairly vilified during the campaign. I realize he made a few gaffes and was portrayed as out of touch, but Kennedy wasn't exactly a man of the people, and yet somehow he was accepted.
Comments too late – but I have seen these photos before and they were taken in April and March of 1963. the reason they are dressed up is because they have just come from church. So much for your expert. There are mnay photos of the JFK and Jackie taken on weekends and they are dressed casual.
What a elegant family, it is amazing that we are still talking about how they dressed.
