Council grills mayor who smoked crack

The number of non-answers and deflections offered by Doug Ford during this interview point to the fact that the Ford brothers work the political arena like no other. The Fords, for all of their professed love for the City of Toronto, have made it a laughing stock across the world. The kid gloves with which Doug Ford was interviewed on CNN left me in shock. Really, did the interviewers actually apologize to Ford as they signed off? His stunning allegations that his daughters were threatened are, of course, disturbing, but also on his word.... and why would anyone doubt what a Ford brother might say?
There is no billion dollar savings. Look up what he says, Doug just lies without thinking. Same as their number one supporter the Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The stream of flat out lies Doug Ford spewed in this interview is typical of the Fords. Facts and reality mean nothing. The Rob Ford administration does NOT have the best fiscal record in North America. They have NOT saved Toronto 'over a billion dollars' (a completely demonstrable lie). They RAISED taxes, cut services to the poor, tax cuts for the rich, in other words, typical Tea Party style fiscal lies. And no they are NOT putting money back in tax payers' pockets. There is now higher taxes, more user fees, less programs to help poor children.
These men are thugs who think they can lie and intimidate their way through everything. They have zero regard for the truth and think they should be able to do whatever they like and should not be held accountable in any way. As for threats, the Ford's have ordered beatings, extortion and possibly even a connection to a murder.
Again the Fords think that no one has the right to hold them accountable, but THEY have the right to use violence and threats of violence to get what they want. They are a disgrace.
In addition to being a disgrace they have harmed Toronto economically. The Ford's have set Toronto back decades in terms of transit improvement and have put Toronto on a path to be in severe financial debt over a new subway that does not have the ridership to justify the cost and the tax increases to pay for it. But it will make rich developers a lot of money.
Doug Ford – who is a rookie first time councillor – managed to get his hands in every major real estate deal that The City Of Toronto is engaged in.
The Fords are corrupt and dishonest to the core.
Ditto what RHM wrote. Drug Ford...I mean "Doug" is really something else, asking council members about cannabis use. Especially since he himself was a big ole HASH dealer. The Fords are THUGS. They both need to go. They know very well, if this were any other mayor, they both would be calling for that mayor to resign. They talk out of both sides of their mouths. In other words, they are LIARS and HYPOCRITES. This city has gone way way downhill since Ford got elected by the money in the 'burbs. The Fords are racist, homophobic thugs who have no business in the politics of this city. This is one of the greatest cities in the world. It is one of the most diverse cities with people from all over the world who have made their home here. And all of us deserve a much better mayor than the one we've been saddled with..........the real city, the core, the part the Fords hate have never supported this thug. And we never will. This is what amalgamation got us. These kind of thugs. Thanks to the former Mike Harris provincial government who forced amalgamation on us, sticking it to the City of Toronto again, like all CONServatives do, with their sick gleeful hatred of this FANTASTIC city. The suburbanites have been ruining it for the city and should go back to their own little city halls like it once was.....so, we can get back to building up the real city of Toronto, and the Drug Fords can continue to be the thugs the 'burbs seem to like.
A few points
1) Asking the turkeys to vote for Thanksgiving. He uses that quote A LOT. It's his signature quote of Doug.
2) The stats for actual questions answered were: Questions Asked 11. Answered: 4 Not Really Answered: 2 Completely Avoided Followed By Political Rant: 5. That's a really good interview for Doug.
3): "Our city is ranked #1 in the world to work in, #2 to live in and before this administration I think we were ranked #22 or #23." He's referring to the City RepTrak poll conducted by the Reputation Institute. Toronto did indeed rank #2. But then Doug goes into full crap mode. The poll has only existed for 3 years, all while he's been in office. Toronto ranked #17 in 2011, #22 in 2012 and #2 in 2013.
4) Did you notice they cut him off at the end? He was about to say something and cut out. Good call.

On the Mayor Ford issue. He has 11 months left on this term (they are four years long) and if he runs and wins in October of 2014 then he will have five years left. He does not have five years left now – he has 11 months. Also – people who live in Toronto are called Torontonians (up here anyway) and I live 30 miles away from Toronto. Cheers.
Enough about this guy...CNN is out to destroy this man....who cares about the mayor of Toronto...we've heard everything there is to know about the story...it is done...let Toronto handle it from here on...Let it go CNN....your job is to report not to fashion opinion....look for other news....little wonder why you are #2
