CNN, what happened to your slogan' keeping them honest'? You need to apply that to your reporting of this in Ferguson. You have done nothing but report how bad the police are there and had people on your show who call the police officer a murderer when the facts aren't out that prove that he is. You never once said we have to wait till all facts are out instead you have encouraged the protesters etc to carry on. You have yet to report what the police are going thru there by having rocks and bottles thrown at them as a matter of fact one of your reporters stated whats a little water bottle thrown at you. The Black Panthers are also there marching and chanting to the crowd to kill police officer Wilson and I have yet heard you report that and the abuse the police are going thru with the protesters. I have heard only all of you at CNN CRITICIZE and blame the police. Like to see you reporters stand in a crowd of thousands and have rocks and bottles thrown at you and chanting to kill one of you. The first thing you would do would be call the police and expect them stop them and protect you. I have yet heard any of your reporters say the offficer is innocent until all the facts are in and he is indicted. Never heard any of your reporters push back or question people who are making statements that if officer isn't arrested there will be more trouble. Didn't know in this country you could threaten in order to get the results you want even if the officer is innocent. Didn't know you could threaten or intimidate prosecuters office or grand jury like I've heard people say on your station without any of you saying to them that is wrong if the officer is innocent. You let them just keep spewing out hatred and no facts to prove he is a murderer. A young black man is dead yes, but I have heard from other stations who witnesses say the young man was fighting the officer and charged at him. But i have yet heard you report anything that would exonerate the police officer or at the very least report both sides. You at CNN have become a joke with your bias reporting. "KEEPING THEM HONEST', you and your reporters and anchors are a joke.

BTW, I have never heard of a white president send his attorney general to a city to investigate a black killing a white or at the very least to chicago to the murdering of hundreds blacks by other blacks. I truly hoped electing a black president would have stopped all this race baiting, inciting and inflaming the races but it has only gotten worse .

Can anyone with a legal training background comment on the perception that there seems to be different standards related to the speed at which law enforcement and prosecutorial decisions are made to arrest and indict (assumes Grand Jury presentation)?

    There is the perception that:
    1) if a confirmed shooter were to be an ordinary citizen (not a police officer), and

    2) if the same eye witness accounts were offered to law enforcement

...then there would have already been an arrest or at the very least the shooter would be currently detained pending charges (often done as the police and the prosecutors gather evidence to support charges they believe will be forthcoming and which they believe will be substantiated to a reasonable standard [i.e.- writ of habeas corpus]).

Does this perceived difference (on it's surface) suggest an unequal application of the legal processes defined at either the county or state level? I'm of the opinion that if John Q Public shot an unarmed person six (6) times and it was determined during the initial crime scene analysis that there was no reasonable expectation of imminent threat (due to the safe distance between the shooter the and victim and the disproportionate balance of the ability to use lethal force), an arrest would have already happened and (pending) charges would be forthcoming based on a preponderance of evidence.

Any comments from the legally trained? Many Thanks.

Why don't police first shoot at the legs of a suspect to stop the advance when there is no weapon displayed?

I have a question, news media outlets keeps stressing the disproportionate amount of white officers on the Ferguson police force, but has anyone actually checked application history? How many non white individuals have actually applied in the last 5 years and out of those how many met whatever the experience/educational qualifications for the job? I think that this statistic is really needed before we judge the diversity of the force. Facts before conclusions, not the other way around.

If the police officer is not arrested, maybe, just maybe there are more facts to the matter. Brooke Baldwin, you are pathetic in asking what happens if the cop is not charged. What do you think will happen? Murder Mike or what ever your name is,you are part of the problem not the solution. I challenge you to pole 100 black men,and see what their education level is an how much weed is in their system, you probably wouldn't want to know the answer to that. You can't glamorize the streets. You Mike are tryin to make money at the expense of your on people and then get on TV and make it sound like at the end of your songs you want them to be choir boys. Clearly it doesn't work that way!!! Your way is not working!! Give up the weed,go your ass to school, and give up the street life. It's 2014,stop making excuses!!!

Please please please stop having Larry Elder on commenting about things. He's obviously confused and is always confrontational and talks over the other guest so you can't understand what neither one is saying. Brook asked a question about black man and mental health which Mr Hill answered how ever Mr. Elder went off on a tangent discussing something else entirely. Mr Hill did not interrupt him while Mr Elder did and then accused him of saying something that he clearly did not. I think Elder is getting senile.

Don't know where some of you get your information,oh, wait yes I do CNN,MSNBC only report one side that fits their political agendas. There isn't any evidence yet that the police officer murdered or executed that young black male. Yet you at CNN, MSNBC have repeatedly had your black guests on who are race baiters, inciters , spewing out stories that have not been verified as facts. Mark Lamont Hill just on CNN said the police man executed the young man and he had his hands up when shot. Not one of you at CNN have corrected any of your guests who are spewing this as facts. There are eye witnesses who also have stated that the young black man was fighting the police officer and kept charging at him. But I have yet to hear this from your station. These eyewitnesses called in because they are afraid and quiet frankly I DON'T BLAME THEM! they are afraid to show their face because of retribution just like they had to get the cops family to safety before there would be a mob trying to harm them in order to release his name. You are all just haters and race baiters spewing out lies and neglect to tell all the facts we know or don't know. Black panthers are there chanting kill the police officer yeah, I would be afraid too. That young man was no gentle giant as he was portrayed until the video came out and of course the protesters got angry cause the truth showed indeed he wasn't what the news media and others portrayed him . That poor little skinny store owner he strong armed robbed . Yeah, I don't blame the eyewitnesses that have said the police officer was defending himself for not letting their names or faces out on your network. Again, CNN without the facts you have allowed people on your network to race bait, inflame, incite the public without one time correcting them.

KUDOS! KUDOS! KUDOS! To Marc Lamont Hill for shutting down that black-wanna-be-white man you just TRIED to get some dialogue from. Marc you were on point with that fruitcake-conservative, out-of-touch with his own people man. I don't even remember his name because, when he talks, he says the same thing....Obama this and Obama that, Chicago, Chicago, Chicago. Even after you politely told him there are plenty people/organizations working on black on black crime, he continued with his blabber. HOWEVER, not one time did he tell you HE's in the trenches to stop black on black crime or anything else that has to do with helping black people. Yes, his father made it and he and his siblings have made it. Hell, I've made it. My mom made it. We, just like he and his family, had help. We had affirmative action laws which I'm sure his family took advantage of. We had better schools. The majority of my generation grew up in single parent homes but, we sure didn't have the steady supply of guns and drugs in our neighborhoods. Marc, what really got me was when he accused you of arguing with him, cutting him off, insulting him. YOU DID NONE OF THOSE THINGS. What you did try to do, before he rudely interrupted, is get an answer to the questions that were ASKED of him! Since he couldn't answer any of Brooke's questions, he did what republicans do. SLAM PRESIDENT OBAMA AND TALK ABOUT BLACK ON BLACK CRIME IN CHICAGO!!!!! I love you Marc! And, tell Jeff Johnson I love him too. Thank you Brooke for making that nut look like the out-of-touch-with-reality black man he is (whatever his name is)!

Why is there almost no mention of the REAL issue? Thugs. If someone talks like a thug, acts like a thug, they probably are a thug. And what color the thug is makes absolutely no difference to me....white, black, pink, green or polka dot. If Mr. Brown (as he is no longer a "Kid") did in fact bully and push his way into a store and steal or attempt to steal, he is lucky that clerk didn't shoot him. I certainly would have to protect myself...from a thug. Then, if Mr. Brown was asked to move out of the street and didn't do so....and perhaps even argued and/or fought about it with the officer, then he also directly disobeyed and disrespected law enforcement. A thug. I would really like to know what kind of family he comes from, why he acted like he did....because that is probably the real root of the problem. Figure that out, and crime will decrease. And, all these people protesting with the race card....where exactly are their children and family while they are out on the street for hours and some all night long? The children obviously aren't in school working on their they can be better citizens and not thugs too. Why don't they stay home and work harder on being good parents and teaching their children respect and to be law abiding citizens? Where I live, we recently had a WHITE police officer who was killed. He was shot by a thug....a BLACK thug in this case. I didn't hear one instance of the "race card" being used here. Bottom line, if you act like a thug no matter what color you are, you must know that you might eventually get hurt (or shot). You accepted that risk when you carried out your unlawful and disrespectful behavior.

BTW,the reason Chicago is brought is because we don't see any protesters marching the streets and demanding the president, holder, jackson , lamont hill, sunny hostin, black panthers, spike lee, etc( i could go on and on with the race baiters you have on your network) stop the violent murders of young black males by other young black males. You know why? CNN can't get the ratings which means money unless they inflame these kinda stories, the civil rights attorneys can't make any money unless they can sue a white for civil rights violation or a white cop, or jackson and sharpton wouldn't be relevant any longer if they didn't spew out these lies before the facts come out. It's all about the money and political agendas and not the reporting of the true facts that we know. Still waiting to see all of you in chicago there you will find the true facts concerning young black men being murdered and executed but not by whites but by other young black males. Also, the police in Ferguson never stopped reporters from reporting the news again lies that you all spew out there.

The reality that this officer will be aquitted is a shameful fact that america should be prepared for and also aware of the potential violent racial outbreak that will follow. Our local policies on the right to use deadly force by officers of the law desevres a second and thrid look, because something is wrong. Whether it's the training or the psychological evaluation that takes place in our police academies, something is wrong.

    August 20, 2014 at 5:07 pm |
  27. ckt54

The officer will be aquitted if he did nothing wrong and should be. If he dd something wrong then he should be arrested and given a trial. This is still America and no matter who or how many try to intimidate the justice system by threatening racial violence if they don't get the outcome they want should also be arrested. This is the type of talk and intimidation those police officers are having to put up with now in Ferguson night after night since this happened. What 's wrong with you people the facts havn't even came out yet and look at what you're doing and saying. CNN lets you say anything on air truthful or not without asking you to verify your facts. You just spew hatred between the races. I also watched that interview Lamont HILL is a race baiter without any facts he goes on all the networks that will have him on to spew his bs. CNN never pushes back just lets him say what ever wants. He said the cop executed the( young boy) yeah thats what he called him Young boys don't strong arm especially the gentle giant ones a poor short skinny unarmed store owner. Police in Ferguson have to protect the innocent public and store owners and themselves from the looters, rocks and bottle throwing . CNN doesnt choose to show this on air and they don't show the black panthers there chanting with the protesters to kill the police officer. Wonder why? I'm tired of this. I will wait until all the facts come out spewing out bs. BTW, THE NEWS REPORTER THAT WAS BEHEADED BY ISIS THAT IS A EXECUTION AND A MURDER|

You claim the police have over reacted in Ferguson. They have been spat on, rocks and plastic and glass bottles thrown at them some with water and some with urine. They've had to set up a HAZMAT so the officers can shower off after being hit by bottles of urine. Guess CNN forgot to report this. You've called it a attempted cover up there is no evidence at all that the police trying to cover this up or committing obstruction of justice. You claim the black young man was shot down in cold blood . All the evidence hasn't been reported yet. There are eyewitnesses for the police officer who say completely opposite of your account. There are eyewitnesses on both sides but again you chose only the eyewitneses account that best suits your agendas. You stated members of the press were being arrested for trying to report this story. Not true! I'm not ranting as you put it just telling all the facts as we know them. CNN , is not reporting all the facts to the public. if you want to hear ALL the facts you will have to turn to Fox News. Then you can make an informed decision without spewing out non facts. This is nothing more than race baiting. You are dividers not uniters. Apparently you just make up things by accusing me of not caring about justice in this case. I have stated in several posts if the police officer is guilty then he should go to jail. I believe in justice for all and facts not spewing out bs in order to obtain your agendas, which apparently you and CNN practice. If there's any cover up going on it would be CNN who havn't reported the truth in this story.

One name: Saul Alinsky. His book, Rules For Radicals. It is the bible for many of these groups who are agitating in Ferguson for their own ends. Brook Baldwin mentioned how some locals are fearful of calling out some of these criminals for fear of what they would do to them. We are witnessing the Rise of Radicalism in America and CNN and other liberal news media's need to shine a big spot light on these groups!

Are you kidding CNN,MSNBC, and all the liberal news media are aiding them in this. Just watch how the news is covered by these stations and then watch a channel like Fox news and you will see it is selective reporting only what fits their agendas. I flip thru the channels to see the networks and what and how they are reporting the news. It is shameful how CNN and others have selective reporting. If you want the whole story from both sides watch Fox News.

In line with my observation, after a property foreclosure home is available at a sale, it is common with the borrower to still have a remaining unpaid debt on the financial loan. There are many loan merchants who seek to have all service fees and liens paid by the up coming buyer. On the other hand, depending on particular programs, rules, and state legislation there may be quite a few loans that aren't easily resolved through the exchange of lending products. Therefore, the responsibility still falls on the consumer that has acquired his or her property in foreclosure. Thanks for sharing your ideas on this website.
